sort of adds a little creepy element to the song. not sayin muslim chants are creepy its just like putting a smiley face on a creepy song, theres nothing wrong with smiley faces, but when you put it with a creepy song, you get a creepy effect.
Well The Lyrics Saying about only one god (allah) and all those its just a chant idk how its offensive other than the fact its in a temple of fire which probably is offending in some sort of way but if it was put in another temple i dont think it would be as if putting it in the fire temple
Its not just the Islamic religion, Nintendo would cut it no matter what religion cause they don't want to associate religious elements with thier games.
There was an article awhile back that said the removal had nothing to do with the ethnicity of the song. Apparently the original development team had both songs originally but no one knows why they changed it up because they've all gone off since this game was made.
This version, with chants, is just so much better than the unoriginal one. It sucks that they removed it. I mean, how could they get offended? I'm christian and I didn't get offended when I saw Dampé the Gravekeepers ghost with a halo! It's the same thing! Kinda ...
apparently people believe the zelda game has been based around the whole illumanati theory. since illumanati is portrayed as a satanic cult this would be believed as mocking the muslim race by chanting allah in the islamic language. it might even show that the islamic chant is attached to the fire temple which is a challenge that needs to be overcome during the game
this isn't a chant it's more of a calling for prayer but i mean it loops around a bit, the words that come out is: "in the name of god, the benificent the merciful" and "god is the almighty"
wow, that actually creeped me out, i myself am a muslim but i don't understand why exactly this chant was used in the game, (im actually quite happy that my favorite game used a muslim chant XD)
Whats odd is that Nintendo acctually cut the music before 1.0 and 1.1 were even realesased,so.....they must of had public outcry before the game came out.........so why wasnt it changed for 1.0 or 1.1,because its not because of islamic outcry even though Nintendo got outcry before OoT was even out....its really confusing......according to this the only real version of OoT was 1.2?????? So what about 1.0 and 1.1??????????? ITS CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand why this was cut in the later versions, I mean, aside from muslims, the others religion are not that touchy concerning chants. Why do we hear Gregorian chant in Halo and the Muslim chant in Zelda, but only the one get cut? That's ridiculous.
98 version was better. I liked the older stuff that got cut out and I hate the replacement Gerudo symbol too. If the producers were going to replace the offensive stuff then I think they should have done a better job of it.
@Dwml By the way, all my comments after the one I sent you are still directed to you. " him they showed Muhammad as a stick figure." I mean, they showed him drawn as a stick figure. (my comments above will explain this episode better, if you wan't to see them)
Is there an original recording of JUST these chants? How did this get to be in Zelda? I just want to find out more about this, and what the hell went on between Nintendo and the Islamic people that saw to this song's change.
For some reason.....Nintendo like to "Kidify" thier games....like Green blood no Islamic chants.......Nintedo think that even though your stabbing a guy with a sword is ok but RED BLOOD ISINT???? WTF NINTENDO?
@dazzsheil Yeah! I know! I have the version of Ocarina of Time that's right after the gold cartridge. So it still has everything good :) Green blood, different design of the mirror shield, different designs of stones to push, different song for Fire Temple, are all stupid changes in my opinion.
@dazzsheil I'm sorry, dude, but you're wrong there. Not all versions of OoT show green blood, that's the result of the localization process, which in some countries prohibits showing RED blood, so what they do? Show GREEN blood instead. I believe this NO blood policy applies in Germany and other countries, but in Chile I perfectly remember playing a version where blood was RED.
@dazzsheil Ok, I didn't know that, but I think you are missing the point. Nintendo does not have a "policy" of "kidifying" games. I agree with you that you may see it that way, but the main reason why they do it it's because they want to save problems for developers and problems with other important markets. By doing one version, a "kid" version, they save a lot of money. That's the main reason why they do it.
