  • i have the same problem with my 1997 Acura Integra...itll turn on and then itll turn off...n wen this happens the light for the battery comes on my dash...i checked if it was the battery and the alternator and there both good..i even changed my alternator and still the same problem...what do u guys think plz help..bad fuel pump?? idk

  • so is it the distributor that makes that whining noise or the ignition, cos mine doesnt make that noise, i wish it did i love that noise lol

  • its the main relay

  • @timmyspit1 was that response to my question

  • There is a cable that is on the side of the starter and covered by a robber. check that out and makesure that the cable is making a connection to the starter. I had that problem for a month and a mechanic was tring to sale me a new engine. Hope that helps.

  • my car has the same problem but i do have spark and i am getting fuel to the motor it cranks but wont turn over any tips.

  • I have a 97 integra. It kept cutting out on me when i was driving. Just randomly. The i replaced the distributor cap and rotor....then the ignition coil...still died on me...now i just replaced the whole distributor. tommrow i will see it it did the job ...im praying it did. Im sick of it dying on me

  • @Civiceg10 so is the new dizzy working out for you alright?

  • @hgzee so far it works great! I think its good! If not...the only thing it could be is the ECU.

  • @Civiceg10 have you tried the main relay when u crank your car does it have a tach signal?

plz let me know does your check engine light stay on when u turn the key on but not start it?

  • who ever mentioned checking for spark is absolutely right. i have a mazda familia 323 94 that is giving me the same issue i already made plans to purchase a distributor on ebay.

  • try main relay, fuel filter could be clogged, the fuel pump couild be goin bad or its not geting any power to the fuel pump due to bad connection, try sprayin carb cleaner in the intake minifold while someone starts it if it turns over then ur not getting fuel to your motor. try wiring your fuel pump straight to the battery to see if it even works its located under the back seat in a 94-up integra, 90-93 integras u have to drop the gas tank

  • its the dizzy man.....get one at pepboys, life time warranty...cost like 200bucks,

  • it is the bad distributor lol i had the same problem i was driving down the freeway and my car just turned off and i was like wtf? and then i waited like a minute and restarted it and it worked. but the car turns off when the distributor gets heated up. so u have to wait like 10 mins for it to cool down then u can restart and get on ur way.

  • i got the same problem as you ciarabuton

  • wooo hooo ohhh. my freind. with 260k miles.

be hapy you even got on the road :)

  • hey i have the same problem with my 92 integra..does the same thing. i cant seem to find the solution to it..

    --hit me up

  • i have the same problem with my 92 integra, replaced many thing but still acted up the same..

  • @forrun1098 now same thing with my 94 dc >.<

  • i solved this one with my integra the same problem and dead battery

  • the same shit happends to my car which sucks so bad foreals. it just turns off on my when im driviving. so what did you do to fix it?

  • i got a 96 integra gsr and i have the same problem... i changed the ignitor(dec) and it didnt work so now ima try change the coil but i havent pay for those i just borrowed them from a friend... if that doesnt work ima buy the whole thing cause its not worth buying the parts for it...

  • i have the same problem... its when it is getting old and it usually only happens on wet damp days.... a trick to get it started is take a hair dryer to it for 30 seconds to a min... sounds funny but it works.. been doing it for a month er so now... honda dealership gave me that tip....

  • i have the exact problem, thanx. first i thought it was the alternator, replace and got a a new one, don't work..NOw im going to buy a new distributor.. haha. hope it works!

  • @ChoonSae sometimes u just have to clean the distributor...u probably fixed it but for next time bud

  • did u try a external coil ? did u have fire ? i hope its not your compresion cause it did turn over really fast.

  • my car is a 98 integra and my distributor went out too, i think its that it does the same thing and checked fuel pump its shooting gas into the engine doesnt have spark just cant find a dizzy in my fuckin town a cheap one

  • if you get spark, your dist. is good, so check whats called your "main relay", which powers the fuel pump when you turn the key to ON before starting the car. main relays tend to go out in these cars a lot, and there is a good chance thats its because some of the solder contacts have cracked on the board inside. you might be able to re-solder them instead of buying a new main relay. google "how to fix main relay"! :)

  • @hgzee mine is doing the same thing but when it dose run the tac will jump around and the same as the speedo but wont rev up and then gets boggy and cuts out i am lost help me out plz thanks

  • @ciaraburton the tach jumping around is probably being caused by your coil or ignition control module (ICM) inside your distributor going out. if you just bought a new distributor, check the wires inside to make sure they are all connected TIGHT. if they move around even just a little bit, it could cause your car to cut out unexpectedly so make sure they are tight.

  • @ciaraburton the bogging could be a number of things -- bad O2 sensor, fuel filter needs replaced, or even the rotor in the distributor is loose and needs replacing.

  • @ciaraburton the speedo not working could be caused by a bad vehicle speed sensor (VSS), be sure to check that.

  • @ciaraburton ya i will tahnks

  • everyone, if this is happening to you, the first thing you should do is check for spark. google "how to check for spark" and you'll see what i'm talking about. if you dont get any spark, then your distributor is probably bad. i suggest you replace the whole thing instead of replacing the parts inside.

  • Hey so what was wrong with your car? what did you do to fix it? because my car does the same thing. please reply I want to fix my car I keep having this problems

  • i have the same problem i cant find out whas wrong with it

  • i have the exact same problem last night. and i had it towed to my house. can anyone help me with this same problem?

  • check that main relay..... if you did the tune up already and you have fuel comming to the engine you should be good.. check the fuel pump fuse and make sure the igniter in the distributor is good..

  • this

  • Same problem. Just done tuned up a month ago, also changed the distributor (brand new) but what have the mechanic done shit on my car?

  • are you SURE it was brand new? sometimes the re-manufactured ones (which i got) aren't assembled well and my car started "cutting out" as i was driving. what i had to do was tighten all the wire connectors (just crimp them more) in the distributor because some were pretty loose! after i did that my car didnt cut out anymore.

  • my car has the same problem.. any check engine lights?

  • no check engine lights
