how to strum upwards? I mean the pick hits the strings in a special angle when going down but when I go up I have to take the same position means the same grade just upwards or did I get something wrong?

Why can I strum down but not up? How do you strum upwards?

Try a thinner (and by extension, flimsier) plectrum (pick.) I prefer to strum chords with a light pick. I fine that they glide over the strings easier. Conversely, I prefer a heavy short (almost jazz) pick when I'm most playing leads.
