yes it does work i even upgraded my 1st gen ipod to 3.1.3 and used the jailbreak and have no problem.

@willman1661 I updated my jailbroken iTouch 2G 3.1.2 to the newest version 4.0 and then re-jailbroke it using redsnow. There aren't that many new features in 4.0, but you can check out the new features on the 4.0 version on apple's website by searching "iPod Touch 4.0 Info" on Google and clicking on first link.

Also, Multitasking is only available for iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4, but you can enable it if you jailbreak with redsnow.

at first for some reason, it didn't work with my iTouch 3G 4.0 and it was stuck on boot logo for quite a while. Then I restored it and now it worked.
