@Deathlypalegirl What about in Rise of the Cyberman(series 3 ep 5 about 26 mins in). Their making cybermen and to mask the screaming they play In the jungle.
@RollandDynasty Likewise :D Though when i caught up with Matt Smith i was left with going back to Christopher Eccleston (i think that's how you spell his name) just so i'd have more Doctor WHo to watch before this years Christmas Special.
@Roronoa2zoro I think my order of favorite Doctors from Nu Who are Tennant, Eccleston, and then Smith. Chris wasn't as quirky or humorous as Tennant or Smith, but he added plenty of darkness to the role. I do tend to think that out of the Nu Who that Matt Smith's probably the best example of what the Doctor should be...but David Tennant is just the man to me.
I am a huge fan of lion king since forever and kno every song so when i started watching the series and i saw this my mind exploded of pure awesomenessand incredibleness. this may have made david tennant my favorite doctor
@Link11243 Yeah I heard that too :D Something about the anniversary special I think. I'm so excited. I'm Brittish, Scottish to be percise, like David himself. :P
I laughed at him referencing Harry Potter. But this? THIS...as a humongous Disney fan (just saw TLK 3D, it was GREAT) I had to excuse myself to squeal with pure fangirlish glee. And I thought it was awesome when Dick Grayson quoted Hakuna Matata.
@LegoDaleks I wouldn't call The Lion King kid's TV. A prince watches his father die horrifically. He's convinced it's his fault and runs away. After an encounter with an old friend he comes home to claim his throne from his uncle who has driven the kingdom into famine. It's a coming of age tale about a boy of privilege that is forced to leave it all and survives with the help of 2 new friends. He becomes a more confident adult that is able to bring his community out of hardship.
@hatorigirl1202 "A prince watches his father die "horrifically"." Believe it or not, like most Disney cartoons, the Lion King is kids TV, or are you going to say that the Lion King as well as Bambi are classical literature & on par with Shakespeare's plays & that kids can't understand them until they get into university?
@LegoDaleks It's not TV it's cinematography. The definition of literature is not that it's incomprehensible to anyone under the age of 25. Yes I would say The Lion King is on par with Shakespeare. Shakespeare took Greek plays and adapted them for his audience. Disney did the same with his work. It's not written in Elizabethan English, and there's songs, but it's a beloved movie AND broadway show for a reason. It's intended for kids, but that's not all who enjoy and find meaning in it
@hatorigirl1202 Ok, you need me to be specific? He quotes TV & every once in a while an American animated kids movie
Are you merely feigning ignorance? Shakespeare is the greatest writer in the history of the English language, you cannot compare his plays to Disney films, to state the obvious.
My point is that the Dr used to quote literature, now he quotes the Lion King & other kids shows/movies - proof that British TV is dumbing-down. It doesn't even make sense that the Dr knows those Lyrics.
@LegoDaleks The Lion King is a large cultural thing. You disagree with my saying it's on par with Shakespeare. Fine. All my points are just trying to say that animated movies are movies, and movies can be important, beautiful, thought provoking, and just as important as a book or play. And that Lion King's a play too. Award winning. The Lion King is seen the world over by young and old audiences alike. Including it just proves that a time traveling alien traveled after the 1800s too.
@hatorigirl1202 Him knowing the Lion King would have to mean that he owns a TV & watches a lot of it & just happened to catch the Lion King. Or it would have to mean that he borrowed the video or DVD or something. That is ridiculous. It is far more realistic for him to quote literature, but ReTarD is not well-read enough & too obsessed with TV to have the Dr quote something intelligent in the right context. He just has the Dr behave like him - out-of-character.
@LegoDaleks I'm sorry. So him having hours to sit around and read is more likely than having 90 minutes to watch a movie? He's a TIME TRAVELER. He could have gone to see it in theaters if he wanted. And he does spend hours reading. So him watching a few MOVIES is completely logical. Still trying to make a distinction between film and TV for you. Films you see in theaters. They may be on TV, but they're not TV.
@hatorigirl1202 "him having hours to sit around and read is more likely than having 90 minutes to watch a movie?" - YES!
He's an alien remember? He doesn't just vegetate in front of the noise-box.
This is the only FILM he quotes. He normally quotes TV. He quotes East Enders in Impossible Planet & Balamory in Tooth & Claw. This means that he must spend a lot of time watching sh!t TV programmes. Why would an endlessly advanced & ancient alien stop quoting literature & start quoting TV?
@LegoDaleks My point has only ever been about The Lion King. If you wish to comment on shit tv then find him quoting that. Not one of the most influential animated films ever.
@hatorigirl1202 Your point was invalid from the start. I said that him quoting TV, which he does often, instead of literature like he used to is just proof that British TV is getting dumber, not just because he's quoting the Lion King, but because his quote was out of place & not in the right context & he never quotes literature anymore. That was my point. Your point was a response, that concentrated on defining the Lion King. I know the Lion King is a great movie, but the Dr shouldn't quote it
@LegoDaleks This is a deep, meaningful story. It also has cultural significance to anyone that was or had a kid or teenager when the movie came out. It's also very loosely based on Hamlet. That's by Shakespeare. You know, that guy? That's considered by many to be one of the greatest literary minds this world has ever seen? Maybe you mean to jab at his silliness, which I would find completely valid, even if I disagree. But to reduce The Lion King to "kid's TV" is disgraceful.

lol when i first saw this and he started talking i was like "wait a seconddd" i thought it was gonna be like an inside joke thing but then he points out that its the lion king xD
@AsphodelsAce To be honest it's very hard to compare the two. Tennant plays a more human Doctor who gets along with people and understands and knows more than he lets on, Matt plays a more alien doctor who finds it difficult to fit in with humans and can sometimes be clumsy but when he's serious he is REALLY serious.
Only David Tennant could recite the lyrics from Circle of Life as a monologue and make you forget fir a split second that it's the song from the Lion King.
I just died laughing. I love the intense music and then he's all like wait, I am subconsciously playing the all time best disney movie on a pink sparkly projector in my awesome mind... now's not the time?... Really?... but its the LION KING!!!
XD When I started series 2, I was unsure if David would live up to the expectations that were given to me by my friends. As soon as he whined about not being ginger, I had no doubts left, and then when he quoted this, he cemented a place in my heart forever. Ten will always be my favorite doctor
I've gotta be honest, this scene is what convinced me that David Tennant might actually be okay at playing the Doctor instead of Christopher Eccleston...
@MsCookieJonas i no i was depressed when Christopher Eccleston left but then i fell in love with david tennant when he comes out of the tardis when they realize they can understand the alien guy.
I like Matt, but he doesn't have that charm that David had. David was like the conductor of the most magnificent train in creation and he had the eccentric appeal that the Cat in the Hat and Willy Wonka have. Plus, he has a greater range of emotion. Matt has great hand gestures, but he's kinda one-note....
I really respect David for leaving of his own free will. He wanted to leave while he was on top, and that's exactly what he did. I wish more actors were as respectful to their art as he is
@isnay2003 Christmas invasion. First full episode with the 10th doctor. Though I think this is the christmas special, so its not the beginning of series 2.

Every time I listen to that song now, I keep thinking of this part and pause the song and go: No, hold on... Sorry that's the Lion King.

Maybe he can quote Bambi, or he could quote The Wild, or... Maybe he could quote Home On The Range!

David Tannent is definately the best Doctor!!! hahaha!!! ^_^

There is only one true doctor, and that's David Tennant.

At least he didn't go "Hakuna Matata, whatta wonderful phrase." Although I did snort some of my soda out my nose at THIS... XD
