  • Ok, I'm italian and they totally screwed up everything ._. our tanslation did not reprise "The lion king" and he says something like "now I'm talking too much." Wait, seriously? That's why I love original versions <3

  • The funny thing is that David stared in the play Lion King is based off which is Hamlet

  • This is another one of those times that the Doctor reminds us just how awesome he is.

  • I laughed so hard the first time I watched this episode lol :( I miss david

  • oh my childhood

  • Dr.10 will alwase be The Dr.Who

  • This makes me love David on a whole new level... :3

  • I've seen this and never noticed he said "Sorry that's the Lion King but..." God I must be going deaf...

  • I actually didn't know this was Lion King until he said it. Either he's awesome, or I have redo all my childhood again

  • @dpoas both.

  • @dpoas Or both. ;-p

  • He breaks into his Scottish accent when he says "blinking"

  • The first time I saw this, I was following every word, not thinking it was the lyrics.

Then, as my mind filled in with the actual song, then David, with his impeccable timing, said it all.

  • EXPELIARMUS!!!!!

  • I always loved this scene!

  • One more reason I love this man.

  • One Person hasn't watched the Lion King. :D

  • I always laugh in the Shakespear episode where martha says"Wow,magic. It's all a bit Harry Potter, isn't it?" and he says"Wait until you read book 7.Oh,I cried!" XD

  • this is the scene that i fell in love with david tennant

  • (pause).....sorry that's the lion king XD

  • First: The Circle of Life is amazing.

Second: Matisyahu does a cover of it.

    Third: THe Doctor quotes it.

    AMAZING

  • David Tennant made a PERFECT Doctor.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 no! He wasn't ginger!!

  • XD Ah, I love David. lol Props on quoting the Lion King here David. XD

  • XD

  • such a pretty song.

  • Interesting when you consider that Lion King was based off Shakespeare's Hamlet, and Tennant had also performed in a production of Hamlet.

  • haha when i first saw this i was like "where have I heard this before" and right when he said it I remembered

  • THIS IS BEAUTIFUL

  • AHAH I DO NOT REMEMBER THIS!

  • one of my fav lines.... :D

  • My three favorite things

    lion king

    david tennant

    doctor who.

    BEST EPISODE EVER

  • @Deathlypalegirl What about in Rise of the Cyberman(series 3 ep 5 about 26 mins in). Their making cybermen and to mask the screaming they play In the jungle.

  • @Deathlypalegirl It was actually pretty shit

  • I heart the doctor THI IS SO FUNNY HE IS AWESOME... I HEART THE DOCTOR ESPECIALLY DAVID TENNANT AND TOM BAKER. THIS VIDEO IS SOOO FUNNY.

  • This special was the first thing i ever saw of Doctor Who. Needless to say this was one of the contributors to me now being completely hooked <.<

  • @Roronoa2zoro Tennant's first episode. Not a bad place to start in my opinion.

  • @RollandDynasty Likewise :D Though when i caught up with Matt Smith i was left with going back to Christopher Eccleston (i think that's how you spell his name) just so i'd have more Doctor WHo to watch before this years Christmas Special.

Sadly he just wasn't as good :/

  • @Roronoa2zoro I think my order of favorite Doctors from Nu Who are Tennant, Eccleston, and then Smith. Chris wasn't as quirky or humorous as Tennant or Smith, but he added plenty of darkness to the role. I do tend to think that out of the Nu Who that Matt Smith's probably the best example of what the Doctor should be...but David Tennant is just the man to me.

  • when did he watch the lion king'

  • @MrLegoguy12345678 well the dudes got eternity too.

in fact he can go to the premier as many times as he wants. and i mean that very literally.

  • I am a huge fan of lion king since forever and kno every song so when i started watching the series and i saw this my mind exploded of pure awesomenessand incredibleness. this may have made david tennant my favorite doctor

  • Which episode is this from?

  • @michio2013 the christmas invasion

  • David Tennant was THE best Doctor in my book and always will be.

  • my top fav tennat line!!!! XXD cant stop laughing

  • which episode is this?

  • @popularanimegirl1 It's Christmas Invasion. David's debut!

  • @popularanimegirl1 a christmas special called "The Christmas Invasion"

  • I MISS DAVID TENNANT SO MUCH.

  • @Clazz94 I heard that he will be in the next Season/Series. I did that because I don't know if you are American or British.

  • @Link11243 Yeah I heard that too :D Something about the anniversary special I think. I'm so excited. I'm Brittish, Scottish to be percise, like David himself. :P

  • I loved this bit lol. One of my favorites

  • no wait... sorry thats the lion king

  • AAAAAAAAAADSLHGSDKJGHDSFKHDSGJHDJHG

Fave Doctor + fave Disney movie = SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • who's the douche that disliked this video just to be a douche

  • @ldw1281993 hahahah, seriously!

  • @ldw1281993 Scar

  • 1 person didn't see lion king...

  • i Miss the vocals on the background ...

  • I laughed at him referencing Harry Potter. But this? THIS...as a humongous Disney fan (just saw TLK 3D, it was GREAT) I had to excuse myself to squeal with pure fangirlish glee. And I thought it was awesome when Dick Grayson quoted Hakuna Matata.

  • @Racization wait wait wait! WHEN did Dick Grayson quote Hakuna Matata? :D

  • @jessisnacorn Strike that, just search "Dick Grayson Hakuna Matata" on Google. It'll show up.

  • @Racization WHEN DID DICK GRAYSON QUOTE HAKUNA MATATA? 0_0 HOW DID I MISS THAT?

  • @Racization Wait, Dick Grayson did what now?

  • @Racization Proof that the BBC is dumbing their shows down. In the original series he quoted literature, now he nonsensically quotes kid's TV.

  • @LegoDaleks damn, if you dont like the goddamn New Series then dont freaking go on the facking internet to search for them and leave hate comments.!

  • @LegoDaleks I wouldn't call The Lion King kid's TV. A prince watches his father die horrifically. He's convinced it's his fault and runs away. After an encounter with an old friend he comes home to claim his throne from his uncle who has driven the kingdom into famine. It's a coming of age tale about a boy of privilege that is forced to leave it all and survives with the help of 2 new friends. He becomes a more confident adult that is able to bring his community out of hardship.

  • @hatorigirl1202 "A prince watches his father die "horrifically"." Believe it or not, like most Disney cartoons, the Lion King is kids TV, or are you going to say that the Lion King as well as Bambi are classical literature & on par with Shakespeare's plays & that kids can't understand them until they get into university?

  • @LegoDaleks It's not TV it's cinematography. The definition of literature is not that it's incomprehensible to anyone under the age of 25. Yes I would say The Lion King is on par with Shakespeare. Shakespeare took Greek plays and adapted them for his audience. Disney did the same with his work. It's not written in Elizabethan English, and there's songs, but it's a beloved movie AND broadway show for a reason. It's intended for kids, but that's not all who enjoy and find meaning in it

  • @hatorigirl1202 Ok, you need me to be specific? He quotes TV & every once in a while an American animated kids movie

Are you merely feigning ignorance? Shakespeare is the greatest writer in the history of the English language, you cannot compare his plays to Disney films, to state the obvious.

My point is that the Dr used to quote literature, now he quotes the Lion King & other kids shows/movies - proof that British TV is dumbing-down. It doesn't even make sense that the Dr knows those Lyrics.

  • @LegoDaleks The Lion King is a large cultural thing. You disagree with my saying it's on par with Shakespeare. Fine. All my points are just trying to say that animated movies are movies, and movies can be important, beautiful, thought provoking, and just as important as a book or play. And that Lion King's a play too. Award winning. The Lion King is seen the world over by young and old audiences alike. Including it just proves that a time traveling alien traveled after the 1800s too.

  • @hatorigirl1202 Him knowing the Lion King would have to mean that he owns a TV & watches a lot of it & just happened to catch the Lion King. Or it would have to mean that he borrowed the video or DVD or something. That is ridiculous. It is far more realistic for him to quote literature, but ReTarD is not well-read enough & too obsessed with TV to have the Dr quote something intelligent in the right context. He just has the Dr behave like him - out-of-character.

  • @LegoDaleks I'm sorry. So him having hours to sit around and read is more likely than having 90 minutes to watch a movie? He's a TIME TRAVELER. He could have gone to see it in theaters if he wanted. And he does spend hours reading. So him watching a few MOVIES is completely logical. Still trying to make a distinction between film and TV for you. Films you see in theaters. They may be on TV, but they're not TV.

  • @hatorigirl1202 "him having hours to sit around and read is more likely than having 90 minutes to watch a movie?" - YES!

He's an alien remember? He doesn't just vegetate in front of the noise-box.

This is the only FILM he quotes. He normally quotes TV. He quotes East Enders in Impossible Planet & Balamory in Tooth & Claw. This means that he must spend a lot of time watching sh!t TV programmes. Why would an endlessly advanced & ancient alien stop quoting literature & start quoting TV?

  • @LegoDaleks My point has only ever been about The Lion King. If you wish to comment on shit tv then find him quoting that. Not one of the most influential animated films ever.

  • @hatorigirl1202 Your point was invalid from the start. I said that him quoting TV, which he does often, instead of literature like he used to is just proof that British TV is getting dumber, not just because he's quoting the Lion King, but because his quote was out of place & not in the right context & he never quotes literature anymore. That was my point. Your point was a response, that concentrated on defining the Lion King. I know the Lion King is a great movie, but the Dr shouldn't quote it

  • @LegoDaleks This is a deep, meaningful story. It also has cultural significance to anyone that was or had a kid or teenager when the movie came out. It's also very loosely based on Hamlet. That's by Shakespeare. You know, that guy? That's considered by many to be one of the greatest literary minds this world has ever seen? Maybe you mean to jab at his silliness, which I would find completely valid, even if I disagree. But to reduce The Lion King to "kid's TV" is disgraceful.

  • I started watching Doctor Who at the 10th doctor. this exact scene (plus the 'rude and not ginger' one) made me fall in love with the series.

  • And this is why Ten is better than ANY. ANY. of the other doctors.

  • lol when i first saw this and he started talking i was like "wait a seconddd" i thought it was gonna be like an inside joke thing but then he points out that its the lion king xD

  • @AsphodelsAce Idk about personality, but maybe it's just because they're more modern than most of the others.

  • just watched the 3D version of the Lion King :) thought of this immediately

  • @sokmonkeys great now when london watches lion king they think doctor who xD

  • @AsphodelsAce To be honest it's very hard to compare the two. Tennant plays a more human Doctor who gets along with people and understands and knows more than he lets on, Matt plays a more alien doctor who finds it difficult to fit in with humans and can sometimes be clumsy but when he's serious he is REALLY serious.

  • @thesorrow777 That's why I love 10 :) 11 is still cool, but he's not the same.

  • I watched the 3D version today. EL OH EL!

  • Only David Tennant could recite the lyrics from Circle of Life as a monologue and make you forget fir a split second that it's the song from the Lion King.

  • @StarrySerenity for* fml

  • David Tennant could make a cd of him reading a phonebook and it will sell out in a day

  • @ojcoolj1 Hell, I would buy it! :D

  • @AlwaysAPotterhead Good luck getting a copy

  • hahahahahaha sooo funny did he put this in his self or was it in the script

  • @BossRoss999 It was improv I think. Makes it even more brilliant! :D

  • This whole scene is The Doctors best speech. So gangster.

  • I just died laughing. I love the intense music and then he's all like wait, I am subconsciously playing the all time best disney movie on a pink sparkly projector in my awesome mind... now's not the time?... Really?... but its the LION KING!!!

  • XD When I started series 2, I was unsure if David would live up to the expectations that were given to me by my friends. As soon as he whined about not being ginger, I had no doubts left, and then when he quoted this, he cemented a place in my heart forever. Ten will always be my favorite doctor

  • yeah that was totally improvised!! fucking legend!

  • @thetopherhaslanded That was improv?? He is now my god!!!

  • @rosephoeniix yeah when he paused he was actually remembering his lines then he just improvised for the bit he missed!! :D

  • @thetopherhaslanded Oh my GOD!!! Why doesn't my mind work like that? Thanks for letting me know! xo

  • @rosephoeniix haha no problem :D

  • This is one of my favorite quotes from David, the second is when he had a gas mask on and said "are you my mummy" Genius, flipping Genius!

  • i think that he should have stayed in his pjs for the whole sereas. it would have been funny

  • ha ha i laughed so much

  • i bet that earned the lion king some fans XD

  • He should have kept going, they don't know what The Lion King is.

  • This is probably the funniest Doctor Who quote ever, does anyone know if this was scripted or just an ad lib by Tennant?

  • @NotSoNewJesus No but it is similar.

  • This was the first episode I ever watched T.T

  • Is that music in MineCraft?

  • hahahaha!

  • HA HAH! A combo of my favorite things! Lion King, and Doctor Who.

  • @TheLittleWhiteHorse5 Fuck ya Doctor King and Lion Who. Fuck yeah!

  • I can imagine my best friend michael doing this. his facial expressions and the way he sometimes speaks are identical to David!! <3

  • aahahaha

  • "Sorry, that's the lion king...but the point still stands!"

  • when i watched this episode, i had to pause it for like 10 minutes after this, i just died laughing

  • the tenth doctor is still my favorite by far

  • This is why I love doctor who

  • I LOVE THE DOCTOR!

  • aww he should of just rolled with it :D maybe even sing a bit

  • Epic.xDD He's s deadpan serious, too. how do you /accidently/ quote the Lion King?

  • This scene alone was what made me love Ten instantly. <3 In fact ANY man who quotes the Lion King wins mega points in my book~

  • @misskitty48 IN THE CIIIRCLE OF LIIIIFE. doez i gets the mega points? =P

  • @PurplenessRox Sure! =)

  • Every time I listen to that song now, I keep thinking of this part and pause the song and go: No, hold on... Sorry that's the Lion King.

  • Maybe he can quote Bambi, or he could quote The Wild, or... Maybe he could quote Home On The Range!

  • David Tannent is definately the best Doctor!!! hahaha!!! ^_^

  • I've gotta be honest, this scene is what convinced me that David Tennant might actually be okay at playing the Doctor instead of Christopher Eccleston...

  • @MsCookieJonas i no i was depressed when Christopher Eccleston left but then i fell in love with david tennant when he comes out of the tardis when they realize they can understand the alien guy.

  • There is only one true doctor, and that's David Tennant.

  • At least he didn't go "Hakuna Matata, whatta wonderful phrase." Although I did snort some of my soda out my nose at THIS... XD

  • "No sorry that's the lion king" <3

  • I like Matt, but he doesn't have that charm that David had. David was like the conductor of the most magnificent train in creation and he had the eccentric appeal that the Cat in the Hat and Willy Wonka have. Plus, he has a greater range of emotion. Matt has great hand gestures, but he's kinda one-note....

  • What episode is this from?

  • @xxjanie182 It's from the Christmas Invasion.

  • i love the way hes just feelin the words so deeply til he realizes ther from a song!

  • hahaha, 'Leave them alone!'

  • I was unsure about David Tennant as the Doctor for the majority of the episode. Then this happened. Just.. yes.

  • wait hold on.. Thats the lion kinG XD

  • Simba disliked this video

  • @iamalilmonstaa12 I would have said Scar.

  • Those wer probably the easiest lines to learn and remember. :P

  • 0:16 lml lol lmao

  • how is there possibly 1 dislike?

  • @mayuraiyer1 Scar was here.

  • I remember when I first watch this bit, I though heard that some and when he said "Oh, wait. That's the Lion King." was so funny.

  • I have never laughed so hard in my entire life.

  • I lol'ed SO HARD WHEN I HEARD THIS!

  • I really respect David for leaving of his own free will. He wanted to leave while he was on top, and that's exactly what he did. I wish more actors were as respectful to their art as he is

  • What episode is this?

  • @isnay2003 the christmas invason

  • @radok560 Thank you.

  • @isnay2003 Christmas invasion. First full episode with the 10th doctor. Though I think this is the christmas special, so its not the beginning of series 2.

  • the 1 person who disliked this is a sycorax

  • i just watched the lion king the other day, and i don't recall this quote.

who said it in the first place?

  • @macsweene It's the lyrics to the Circle of Life XD

  • @macsweene It's in the main song.

  • @macsweene its not a quote from the film.....its the lyrics to Circle of Life x

  • @MsKianEgan Well The Circle of Life is from the film. So technically it's a quote from a song from the film. :P

  • I would have died laughing in the Doctor broke out in song

  • oh but matt is a lovely doctor! he's definitely one of the good ones! people just got used to david because he did a whole three series.
