  • okay,, i'll try feeding crickets... thanks a lot..

  • hey jon... im a big fan of you.i have a problem regarding my chaco golden knee about its eating method. it does not totally eat well, i feed it two times. it only eats the juice of superworms i feed it, it doesnt devour the superworm but only the juice of the superworm.

  • @damlordTwendam

hmm, they usually quite well, did you try crickets?

  • i want a spider lol but my parents won't let me have them..... :( but when i move out im gonna buy some hehe :) <333

  • would u ever thikn about selling some of them and wow i like that common house spider that was a sick feeding

  • @123iguanaman

I have a P.regalis eggsac at the moment. I will be selling those once it hatches. However its in canada only

  • Jon, question about the Haplopelma. I noticed that he is hidding in his burrow while eating or just being inactive, did you make that burrow or did the tarantula dig it by himself? What's it on purpose that there's like a window where you can see inside the burrow? Great channel by the way.

  • @kevoschinito

    she dug it herself

the window you see is a trapdoor so I can open the cage without taking out the entire lid

  • @Jon3800 how often do you feed them?

  • @kiddwight

everytime you see a new feeding video, that is when they're fed. Once every 2 weeks.

  • Can you hold any of your tarantulas??

  • @ThenYouKissMe

I do but very few, since most of the tarantulas I own will bite if you attempted to handle them. Out of the 129 I own, there's about 10-11 I would consider holding.

I don't make too much of a habit doing this since it puts them at risk if it decides to bite me and I drop it. Then cannot get attached to you like a cat or dog does.

  • @Jon3800 Really? what is the most aggressive tarantula you own??

  • @ThenYouKissMe

Phormictopus cancerides ( Haitian Brown) -- the 15th tarantula that's featured in this video

  • @Jon3800 He is very pretty :)

  • @ThenYouKissMe

    Thanks, It's actually a girl :)

  • @Jon3800 Oh oops sorry it sounded like you said he.

  • @ThenYouKissMe

    I don't think I did ;)

Definitely my worst tempered females I own

  • @Jon3800 oh ok. I hope it molts soon. Cuz its been like 3 weeks now.. Anyway, thanks a lot.. Lovin your videos

  • Nice video man.. I got a question tho.. My pink zebra beauty isn't eating yet. Its just inside a pot i put for its shelter.. And it spun a web in the opening. Any suggestions what to do?

  • @xjkx24x

its probably going to molt soon. Don't feed it and give it water.

  • that last spider is a funnel-web spider

  • @froggy10145

    its a house spider.

  • You have a great, beautiful collection of spiders. Do you ever take any of them out to hold or pet?

  • @bonjovifan1500

I take a select few of my calmer species to handle on very few occasions. I don't pet them. They don't like it and they see it as a threat. I just let them walk on my hand then put them back in after a couple of minutes.

  • @Jon3800 That's cool man. Thanks for sharing!

  • oh my goodness! Im absolutely terrified of spiders! I wish I wasnt though...they are so interesting....

  • You have like every spider race in the world lol.. that's a lot of spiders... pretty cool though.

  • my tarantulas eat every 7 months....

  • @ProfieHater

    rose hair?

  • @Jon3800 brachypelma smithi ... my 3 years old rose hair died for 2 weeks -.- :(

and i dont know why she died?! why?? ... :( (i knew u would ask rose hair)

  • @ProfieHater

Well, if you bought the rose hair from pet store...you have to understand it's NOT 3 years old. If it was an adult it's mostly like 10-15 years old already. I have a captive bred 2 year old G.rosea that's around 2.5''.

  • @ProfieHater

Sorry about your G.rosea, they are usually hard for them to die in captivity...Either one of three reasons:

    1) your specimen was probably an aged mature male.. you should have noticed that it had hooks on his first pair legs and swelled up feelers...they do not live long at all.

    2) Did it undergo a bad molt?

    3) Since you feed your Ts every 7 months may have something to do with it...You should be feeding them once every 2 weeks, like you've seen me do in these feeding videos

  • @Jon3800 about my rosea..... :(

when i get her she was 2 years old and 1 year later she died, but for about 4 months i asked u some questions about my rosea with my other account how often they molt and u said i think my rosea should molted allready but she or he never molted.... she or he was not adult she or he was just to young and i dont saw any things of an adult male.... they only thing i noticed before she died was... that she moved over her living place very often, just like he search fo

  • @ProfieHater

I don't exactly remember your other account...I PM people nearly everyday about T troubles so it's hard to remember what I said.. Now that you given me a rough idea... was it possible that she fell from her enclosure? Was it too tall? Tall enclosures will cause the abdomen to split and rupture...it will die from that. Also It a good question to ask. yourself..did you keep her way too humid, also a reason as to way she was moving all the time,it's a stress factor.

  • @Jon3800 she or he had in her enclouser a little bark. I took it away because she never was on it or something so i thought it just for nothing in her enclouser. thats all what i know more i cant say about her (sry for my english)

  • @Jon3800 what i forgot to say the enclouser isnt tall

  • @ProfieHater

then possibly she was kept too humid. Other than that, I exhausted all the possibilities of why Ts die. Sorry for your loss

  • @Jon3800 to humid? so it was my mistake why she died -.- thansk for ya help again...

  • @ProfieHater

yes. G.rosea like everything on the dry side. Mistakes happen

  • @Jon3800 and brachypelma smithi ? i heard the like dry, too ??

  • @ProfieHater

yes. Aphonopelma, Brachypelma, Grammostola, Heteroscodra and Stromatopelma do better in dry conditions...NO misting required...just keep a water dish full. I've explained these in detail in those mythbuster videos I put up

  • @Jon3800 okay and huw much hotness need brachypelma smithi ?? i think 25° yes??

  • @ProfieHater

    24C-26 Celsius (75-80F)

  • can your T get too fat? like when you feed her too often?

  • @gijsenarthur

yes, they can.. My B.emilia is so fat from her bimonthly superworms.

  • i've got a brachypelma albopilosum, and how can you stimulate your T to dig a hole in the substrate?

  • @gijsenarthur

start to pre-dig one for her

  • @Jon3800 aah, that's indeed a good idea! thank you very much! should it be a little hole or a tunnel?

  • @gijsenarthur

should be a tunnel if it's a Brachy

  • @Jon3800 how should i make it?

  • @gijsenarthur with a spoon dig the burrow...Its not terribly difficult :)

  • @Jon3800 okay thannks ;)

  • why are some of them in small little cups?

  • @dbarrry3

they're small..You can't house little spiderlings in large cages.

  • @Jon3800 yeah i know my bad, i did some research and i understand, i really enjoy your videos so keep them coming!

    Much respect from US

  • where can you buy a chilean rose?

  • @thereptipages

    pet store

  • Great vid man! i really liked the Brazilian Black.

  • and how many times a week do i have to feed a 3 or 4 years old G. rosea a week??

  • @NLmitchieNL

Once a week or once every 2 weeks. If note the dates these feeding videos...so far a total 78...it depicts how often I feed them

  • how do i see if my G. Rosea is a male or female? is there a difference for the abdomen or something? i'd love to know, i might get another one for them to mate :D and i just got crickets and my mom fed it :P

  • jon can you watch my video if there is anything right with the enclosure and say any recommendations and if the tarantula is fine thanks in advance and sorry for wasting your time if ever i cant post the link because it says error it cant work i dont know why so the title is feeding my mexican red knee tarantula

  • @jejeboy11

there is nothing wrong with your enclosure. Looks like you've been feeding chilli quite heavily tho

  • @Jon3800 ok thanks so what do you say do i feed him less i feed him every thursday

  • @jejeboy11

Really it's up to you and use your judgement. Personally I wouldn't exactly feed something very fattening to Ts once every week. I think by now you already know how often I feed my Ts so you can follow that regiment. A tarantula doesnt need to eat every week to survive well. I feed half of what you do in a month and theyre healthy

  • @Jon3800 ok thanks

  • Comment removed

  • dont mess wit dis guy or u'll wake up wit all dem spiders in ur bed

  • you have very pretty collection especialy your suntiger. I almost took over a goliath spider of a friend of mine. but mom said know xD she said okay you can have another pet. So i showed her what someone wanted to give me 'cause he had to much. And thens he was like no fucking way. small spider okay but that ones was to big xD she doesn't understand i don't like normal pets... like freaking hamsters ¬¬

  • I have a question for you. Do the children in your neighborhood call you something along the lines of "Crazy spider-man"? Awesome videos you got!

  • @cybermelk

    yup lol

  • @Jon3800 ahhaha that's great! I would love a "Crazy lady" rep myself

  • iv got a request, could you make a cricket care video plz because i dont know how to look after them!, iv had 2 colonys and neather 1 of them survived so plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz make a cricket care vid plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz plz

  • @broodybird69

I've done one.. check my uploads.

  • the birdeater at 05:10 is just a big cute 8 legged teddybear! aww its so cute :)

  • Hi, I love spiders, I'm totally obsessed with the Cobalt Blue. I live in Ecuador and there aren´t any spiders like that in the highlands where I live, the climate conditions aren´t adecuate for that spider, but I really really want a spider, but I´ve never had one before. I'd like to ask for advice, what species do you recommend as a first spider? You know one that can easily be taken care of without me actually killing it accidently... Thanks!!!!

  • @mareajd

I would get a Brachypelma smithi or Brachypelma albopilosum. If you need others please see this video (watch?v=MAb0OsLsw6c). I do not recommend an H.lividum (cobalt blue) to someone whose never had any tarantula before. They move lightning fast, are highly aggressive and pack a serious bite. You CAN easily mimic the conditions of H.lividum anywhere. I live in Canada where temps well below 0C. All you need is block off part of the ventilation and keep the substrate humid.

  • Oh and if possible can you please make a video you you holding any of the ones that you can ??? that would be so amazing !!

  • @ccdupstar33

I have a fairly recent video here

    watch?v=qGSHaDG31Kw

I don't generally make a habit of handling them too much.

  • Hey are all most of these spider's deadly? Sorry it that sounds dumb but I have no idea :p I find this video amazing by the way

  • @ccdupstar33

Thanks. No need to worry as none of these spiders are deadly. I personally would never own something that can potentially kill me

  • @Jon3800 do you have a bergundy goliaith bird eater??? i you do what video is it?? thank you..

  • @scoobydaboy92

Yes, I have both a mature male and a mature female. I have so many videos of them...the latest I featured them was in feeding video 76. OR just type Theraphosa stirmi in the search bar my uploads

  • Hey, I just found your videos randomly; but I'm really curious about something? Do tarantula owners create the same type of bond as, say, a dog owner?

I'm sorry if that sounds ignorant, but I'm just wondering if spiders have the same ability as other pets in regards to showing affection. Is there any way you can tell?

  • @tdkfangirl

Its considered to be more as hobby than a deep connection from a dog to its master. To answer your question, tarantulas aren't mentally capable of understanding or showing affection like dogs. Being primitive animals, they are programmed to hunt for food and reproduce. Its a good question

  • have u ever been bitten buy one of them

  • man i hate spiders they scare the shit out of me id rather have a snake thats bites me everytime then a spider

  • Bad Ass Video! Just what I was looking for every species I have been researching all in one vid and feed response. Very cool collection my friend!

  • Do you still have your common house spider?

Can you possibly do a video on your Indian violet as well? thanks

  • @activemailorder6

That common spider died years ago. I remember it died 2-3 weeks right after I made this video. Common house spiders have very short lifespan. I'm afraid I cannot update the Indian violet. It died also from a molting complication. I haven't found another one on sale yet to replace it.

  • I'm a 14 old girl who REALLY wants a pet tarantula...they have a small female rose hair at my local pet store that i've had my eye on for months. I told my mom all the upsides of having a tarantula and I know everything about caring for them. (even about your collection!! :D) But I still don't have her convinced. Please help!! I really want one. Any way I can convince her into letting me get one?? :/

  • @WebkinzMysticalPanda Say they're extremely low maintenance, have no odor, quiet, and dont require much space.

  • i have a 1 and a half inch baby Grammostola rosea ... what should i feed him? small crickets , small meal worms or flightless flies

  • @SuperSnakeman10

small crickets will work just fine

  • @Jon3800

  • @Jon3800 thanks

  • Fuckkk!!!!!

  • @SS6BRANDON

Brandon, I'm not even sure if you're even excited or offended by the video.

  • @Jon3800 Lmao Your Video Is Awsome I Said Fuckk Because of How One Of The Spiders Attacked The Cricket Haha

  • @SS6BRANDON your mom

  • all they eat is one cricket ? i was planning on getting one. and do you have to set up a habitat depending on what type of tarantula it is ?

  • @MrZOOYORK93

1-2 crickets a week is more than enough to satisfy a Tarantula (or T for short)'s diet. And yes of course. There's different types of Ts. One type are terrestrials such as rose hairs, mexican red knees which do well in a simple 6L shoebox, there are the burrower types like cobalt blues that need a lot of substrate to burrow and there's the arboreal or tree living type like pinktoes that do well in 1-2 gallon jars with airholes

  • Wow sweet vid man im glad u didn't handle any :o im stil a little scared of spiders but watching this vid shows how cool they r, i might get 1 as a pet. thanks :P

  • I'm planning to get a Chilean Rose Hair. Which gender is more aggressive? I'm crazy about arachnids! Please respond.

  • @Spid3rFr3ak

it HIGHLY depends on individual specimens. Gender does NOT effect aggressiveness I've worked with 5 rose hairs (males and females), all but 1 were pretty defensive

  • @Jon3800 Thanx man. Ill keep my eyes open.

  • All we need now is a Parry Gripp Nom nom nom song to it ;)

  • @TheBeastMistress HI SISTAH!

  • how many do you have the description says a list of 39 but i want to know

  • @dudewithblackhair1

I have 128 tarantulas. There's an updated list on my channel page

  • Have you had any escape before?

  • @chrisboi08

    yes, they had.

  • @Jon3800 Ever get them back?

  • @Jon3800 Ever get them back?

Also I love the Red knee. I really want one but I dont think i'm allowed lol

  • @chrisboi08

    got a few back.

  • @Jon3800 So some escaped the house or did you just not find them?

  • well done on the vid. This was clear and very entertaining, thankyoooou

  • i wonder whats in there at 7:29

  • @8xaos

This was Ephebopus uatuman - emerald skeleton

  • im deathly afraid of spiders. or i was but now i see they are kind cool. nice vids dude.

  • whayt if i feed my taruntrula frozen mice

  • @theailenwar

you still have risks even if it is frozen. You're better off with super worms and crickets. Trust me, much cheaper and they are much healthier

  • @Jon3800 but dont they need like nutients my friend said that mice give them iron and like calcium isnt that true???

  • @theailenwar

You can give nutrients to tarantulas by feeding your crickets/ superworm but feeding fruits, vegetables, and cricket feed. I did this for 16 years, and they are healthy. Compare this video to feeding video 72 I posted last week

Iron and calcium is the WORST you can give to a tarantula. Their only bone in their body is their exoskeleton, they don't benefit from calcium. If fed too many mice, exoskeleton hardens up so much from calcium, they get failed molts and die from it

  • Can you feed them mice?

  • @iNoamfer

Yes you can but it's not recommended. There's a danger of the mouse killing the tarantula

  • how do you tell when gramastola rosia goes into pre molt!! please respond.

  • @terificTBEAR I'm not really keen on explaining when Ts go into premolts again, since I made about more than 200 videos showing you what Ts look like in premolt and how to tell if they are. All Ts species will show the same premolt behavior even G.rosea. As the uploads suggest. Ts are in premolt 1) There is a dark bald abdomen patch 2) appears aggressive 3) constant webbing 4) burrowing/hiding 5) Not eating... but you cannot go by this species is famous for doing this Hope it helps Jon
  • Can you touch the Tarantulas without getting bit ? , Answear back please

  • @AmZong

only 3 of these can be handled without getting bit: B.smithi, E.campestratus, and A.avicularia

  • onMOnOmOMNMnOmNomnomonm

  • I don't think you have enough yet = )

  • thanks for the popcorn idea, better with dr pepper

  • the Gooty sapphire ornamental had a lush colour

  • Somewhat off topic, but do you have an arachnoboards account? Cause if not I think you would be interested.

  • @MegaSpenceman

    yes, I do. Jon3800

  • This was a really interesting video! I'd love to have a pet tarantula, haven't done much research since I know it won't be happening anytime soon, but they are pretty amazing!

  • I have absolutely no experience with owning tarantulas, but I love animals and I'm thinking about getting a tarantula. What species do you recommend?

  • @Erictexas09

    Brachypelma albopilosum - Curly Hair.

  • @Jon3800 The owner of a local petstore (She is a total tarantula freak and enthusiast) has a tiny mexican redknee only 3 months old, she is going to sell it to me after its next molt! I'm super excited to have my own baby redknee! :)

  • @Erictexas09

    nice :)

  • Jon3800 I would just like to tell you about some of the spieces of spider you have in your possesion mate your taking a very and a mean very big risk by having 126 venomous spiders in your house even though you have them all enclosed believe me they would get out or a series of mistakes you make might lead up to one or two getting out you should have only 2 or 3 mate i know your really into spiders but even the best spider experts in the world have to be aware that spiders can kill you.

  • @NaturalXSuper

Thanks for your concern. I've been studying and keeping tarantulas for 16 years, I will agree, they are venomous but they will not kill you. You'll be safe to hear that no one has ever died from a tarantula bite, and to this day I've never been bitten before. I refuse adding lethal species to my collection.

  • @Jon3800 A trantula bite CAN be lethal, but you have to be prone to asthma attacks, or cardiac problems. People have gone into comatose and even suffocated and died due to asthma after being bitten by tarantulas.

  • @Erictexas09

This could happen but very rare. Has their been sufficient reported documents claiming this is true? T bites can send send you to the hospital in cases for highly venomous species like Heteroscodra, Stromatopelma, Haplopelma, Pterniochilus, Poecilotheria, etc... or species that have very weak venom such as B.smithi but for that to happen you might have a serious allergic reaction to bee stings. Bee venom and tarantula venom have similar peptide chemical structures.

  • @Jon3800 I'm glad your keeping on top of it and that your being careful handling them.

  • Amazing video and a wild variety of spiders. I love that u have like 100 some spiders. Keep it up

  • Best feeding videos on youtube keep it up man!

Love the commentary always learn a lot which is really helpful for a hopeful-beginner T owner like me.

  • @SherwStudiostv

    they are all venomous

  • how many spiders do you got?

  • @markuscoollife

126, as it appears on my channel page :)

  • Jelousss *_* ... them spiders are like ninjas! :D super fast!

  • You've got an impressive collection, I really like the Ceratogyrus marshalli

  • OMG I have had my g rosea for about a month and I have handled her and shes very docile, she just ate for the first time right now, holy shit, I dont know if I ever want to hold her again. it was very fascinating though.

  • I only have 2 spiders right now (a rosie and a salmon pink birdeater) but because of money I can't afford any more. I want a large collection eventually. I can't imagine how difficult it'd be for you if you were to move houses. That's one issue I'd have with starting a collection :/ Be that as it may, when I settle into a more permanent house (I'm in a studio apt >_>) and get more cash coming in, I'll be buying more and more spiders!

  • i like how you love yor spides while othe spider owners are frightened, nice video man.

  • Okay thx.I am just asking because here in Germany not much people use this Tanks for the spiders.except maybe for Haplopelma species. We use glas terra for all tr's.I am thinking to put my Collection also As vid's on you Tube ,would Be nice to here You're oppinion about it.You're vid's are awesome and the Way you take Care of You're spiders is the Way everybody should.5 Stars from me

  • Thx for Quick Response !!Another question about the Tanks you use overthere.just want to Know about the temprature. For example Brachypelma Boehmei you need dry substrate, well don't missunderstand me i am not saying this to teach you how to handle it,okay.but you Need high temprature .is that possible Inside this plastic Tanks without using lights??

  • @Tisoyspiders What you see in these videos are their actual plastic tanks. You'll see that No lights and no heat mats are used. In winter, the room is heated with the space heater. B.boehmei are fine at 75-80F (above room temp)

  • Hey Jon !!! I am from Germany and just Started to Watch You're vid's.I own over 65 Birdspiders. You really do it well and i enjoy watching it.I Love this Hobby and its nice to See that you guys over there also are crazy about it.My Dad is from Brooklyn NY,do you have a idea how it is to send spiders from here to the States ??

  • @Tisoyspiders

you probably won't be able to unless you have a fish and wildlife permit, check the city bylaws on the importing exotic animals. I can't even get Ts from the States here and I live 3 hours from the border :(

  • @Jon3800 This is an awsome hobby, i myself have owned a couple Ts but nowhere near as exotic. I had a mexican red-kneeed T and a rose haired T. Both are gone but im considering getting another, which should i get, another rose haired, or a pink toe?

  • @toro10neri

I usually go for variety so pinktoe

  • I like the enthusiasm. Im getting my first T in a few weeks, Hopefully a Brachypelma smithi. I saw you commented that you feed them every 2 weeks? is that right cuz I thought they were suppose to be fed large food once a week or like a small cricket twice a week? Thanks

  • @lb4liife Some people like to powerfeed their Ts like RobC to make their Ts grow quicker and mature faster (which I particularly discourage), and some like to feed them slower.

The 2 weeks is actually the time frame that these feeding videos are posted. Essentially, they are my live feeding schedule (up to 68). Everything you see in these vids is what it actually happens. I've switched to superworms, which are more filling than smaller crickets. 1x a week is plenty from them to be happy

  • @Jon3800 Thanks for the quick response. great looking T's

  • i am so grossed out but cant stop watching and want one for myself

  • Can you give me a name of a almost perfect starting T? i want one even though i have a fear of spiders

  • @NLmitchieNL

if you check my video "T Recommendations: Good Beginner Species" I give an extensive list to choose from perfect starting species. I highly recommend Brachypelma smithi (mexican redknee) or Brachypelma albopilosum (Curly Hair)

  • @Jon3800 Thank you , i hope it's not a too big pain in the arse to buy one in Holland :( and i'll have to buy it myself , since my parents ain't getting another "pet"

  • @NLmitchieNL

the albopilosum shouldn't be that expensive to get.

  • On what basis do you have to feed them?

  • @g2g4m10

they need to survive...they cannot live without food. If you check every feeding video I make (2 weeks apart) that is when I feed them

  • ok, thanks, are they showing their selfs lot? i mean skeleton is a borrower right? what about PZB? and what kind of cage should i use?
