  • I'm so sick of seeing people water fast just to lose weight. Just fucking exercise and eat mostly fruits and vegetables. Water fasting should used for detoxing, healing and curing serious illnesses.

    Yes it is, I haven't done it yet but lots of people have (and gone longer), you should make sure you're healthy before you start though, no serious health problems etc. to where you will require food, should probably check with a doctor. I'd recommend taking a multivitamin every day too.

    The thing is (I think, don't quote me on it) that once you run out of food your body will start eating away at stored up fat to energize itself and we fat people have plenty to go around.

  • I water fasted for 40 days, lost 50 pounds, and have kept the weight off for about 5 months now. I gained NOTHING. As a matter of fact, I lost 4 more pounds as I gradually began my eating habits again. You were my inspiration. :)

  • @pceluvmusicx0x Yes, I do. I stopped my fast with broths and eventually juices over two days, then fruits and veggies over the third and fourth day (to ensure no weight gain) and within the week I drunk LOTS of water and ate salads, veggies, and fruits for a couple months. This was my way of doing it, but I began exercising in the second month, and I do so once a day for an hour, everyday. I weigh 115 pounds, I started at 165. You just have to have a fool proof plan.

    Wow great job!! I'm going to try and do a water fast but I've never gone a day without eating before so I'll try 7-10 days to start and then if it goes well maybe do a longer one in the future. I used to weigh 280lbs but over the last 1.5 years I've been learning to control my appetite, lost 50lbs so far just by eating less food (I still eat 4-5 times a day, just not gigantic portions), but I've plateaued and I'm hoping a fast will get me over the hump

    I still need to lose another 35-40lbs to get to a more healthy weight. I wouldn't have even considered something like this before but I'm hoping that now that I've learned to control my eating that hopefully I won't yo-yo after a fast and can keep it off and slowly get back into food like you did, and keep it in moderation.  Anyways great job, very inspiring.

  • 30 days wow! I want to do a 7-10 water fast and not sure if I'll be able to do that since I can't take time off of work for it. How did you take five weeks off of work for a fast? Do you work from home?

  • I'm sorry but I do not agree with this weight-loss plan at all, I think it could damage your health. Maintaining healthy eating and exercise rather than fasting will bring better and more long term results.

    fasting is not supposed to be a weight loss plan, sometimes ppl fast for different reasons, also you dont fast your whole life, only a specific amount of time, and then you practice and maintain a healthy lifestyle and eating habits. In my opinion i think fasting is great as a way of cleaning and detoxing your system every once and a while , weight loss just so happens to be a nice perk :-)

  • ya you can loose a lot of weight if you just do a water fast. I did if for a week and I lost 10 pounds most of it was water but I did loose some fat. The only problem is you have to be careful when you start eating again. You might go crazy and go on a fast food binge and gain all the weight you lost.

  • @YOUmommaHAX Yes. You cannot break the fast by eating anything! It's just water that you're consuming and it's the most grueling diet you can encounter. Some people alternate fruit juice and water if they are on longer fasts, but 30-40 days is a good time length. Trying to fast for longer than 2 months can be fatal once you end your fast. You have to be very careful what you put in your mouth once you're done fasting. Just look it up on Google for more info.

  • With a consistent, healthy eating plan most of that weight she lost will be permanent. You're right that she could gain some weight from the food physically being inside of her. Most people gain weight back because they go ape shit and eat whatever they want.

  • Hi. I have a few questions. Did you lose inches overall after losing 27 pounds. Particularly, did you lose inches in the waist and also did your thighs slim down a long with your arms?   • That's why the best models have protruding cheekbones. That's why we wear blush to contour our cheekbones. You're such an idiot. My cheekbones stick out when I'm 130 lbs (at 5'6"), and they stick out when I'm 200 lbs (after my last pregnancy). I was definitely not malnourished at 200 lbs!

  • To everone on this water fast. I am concerened that I understand you may be on this to lose the pounds but please dont go anorexic as you said our appertite has not returned I hope this is a natural course within the diet and you do feel hungry have a vegetable juice at the end of the iet.

  • OMG, you honestly do look like a different person than from day 1! This is so inspirational. Remember that now you are thinner you will require less calories to maintain weight than you did before the fast. You also probably lost some muscle (which use up calories/increase metabolism) during the fast, which will also lower your calorie intake requirements.

    I recommend baked beans as a cheap diet food. There are only ~200 calories per can and they are filling and easy on the stomach.

  • I don't really know if there are different fasts, I guess so.  I usually do a spiritual fast which includes praying and reading scriptures. To cleanse the body of impurities and fill it with the Holy Spirit/Ghost.

    Today is actually my first day of my water fast and it was great the only thing is in 1 week it will be exhibition in Saskatoon and there will be a lot of good foods do you have any advice on how to crush craving? thank you, you biggest fan Iman.

  • I would say take one day at a time that is not for a week so if you can manage them for 7 whole days before the exhibition you wont want to ruin it.
