  • Life is funny. Watching this video quickly became a Six Degrees of Separation exercise for me. Seems I'm just a couple degrees away from Featureman -- as when I was in college, I had a late night weekend radio job, as the operator playing the pre-recorded Gary Owens Show... AND (not sure I should admit this), a year later, I (briefly) met the Fat Boys when they guest-starred on an episode of Mr. T's show, T and T (for which I was a junior writer.). Thanks, Tom, this took me down memory lane.

  • @cyberwanderer Thanks. That is something I have noticed over the years also. Paths cross so amazingly over and over in show business. I will soon upload a video of myself at The Palomino Club in 1986. The way the name of the first owner, Hank Penny, is related to someone else I knew so well and so many other paths crossed there. The Fat Boys were very fun in those days. I think at least one of them has passed away.

  • This was fun to watch, thanks for sharing.

  • @AlanMRedman Thank you.

  • Those were AWESOME!!! I knew you had been on there, so I searched youtube, but no luck. So thanks for posting those. I also heard Mona Lisa awhile back when someone posted it up here. I listen to that one quite a bit. Great stuff!

  • @dodadue89 Thanks, Andy. I did a couple of recordings on VHS and BETA years ago of Mona Lisa at The Palomino Club. I am looking for those old tapes. I don't know how the quality will be.

  • @Featureman I'd like to see those as well. I went through all my old tapes and whatnot over the past year and finally put them on DVD's. VHS and 8mm tapes have a unique quality.

  • 9 for the suit 10 for the tie 10 for the music way to go,... tom, whoooo hooooo

  • @jackocloud Thank you.

  • Tom, that was totally awesome.........bet you miss those days....please share more..this is interesting stuff..congrats on your career

  • @ontap55 Thanks. I have been very fortunate to have had fun for so many years and it is still fun with YouTube today. I will be looking for more oldies stuff.

  • That is a funny routine. I didn't get to see the new gong show for some reason. Hearing you play the piano encourages me to try a little more harder on mine.

  • @garyandleslied Thanks. It is fun to play with a band of musicians.

  • WOW! That's fantastic to see you in TV, Tom!! That was the year I was born... ;)

You totally rocked, I'm totally your fan!! Amazing performances!! :)

I hope you have some more to show us... =)

    Hugs from Raffa =D

  • @rpbraziliansinger I will go through more of my old tapes. Live performances are so much fun as you know. Having audience reaction and the freedom to do what you want with the music is so great. Hugs for you. You are going to be doing many live performances and loving it. You are a great friend.

  • Wow, Tom, I thought you've lost these! This is amazing haha! This is like my 4th time watching this!!

  • @IWannaGetFamous Thanks, Alex. I will keep them up as Fair Use for now. It would have been fun to have been on that show with you.

  • ha! your more famous then all those people now

  • @srv3fender Thank you. It is amazing how fleeting fame is.

  • What fun. The Gong show is one of my all time favorites.

  • @featherdude Thanks. I had so much fun in those days on that show.

  • Mona Lisa - great performance!

  • @markvergeer Thank you. Mona Lisa won an Academy Award in 1950. It is a great old song that is fun to play.

  • Cool had me in stitches!

  • @markvergeer Thank you.

  • Kick ass performance!

  • @combatsambonyc Thanks. It was always fun to do the live shows with audiences reacting,

  • I'm always happy when I see you in my subscription box.

  • @boxman91210 Thank you. I am very happy to be there.

  • Hi! I used to love watching this gong show. It was so hilarious when the person performing would wrestle for the gong and the judges too! A real predecessor to 'American Idol' but it didn't take itself seriously. WOW, Herman is rocking! That was terrific! Great memories!

  • @Voyagersguidebook Thanks. It was always fun to be on that show. I did get to wrestle for the gong at least one time with Dr. Demento. There was no script for the acts when we talked with the emcee.

  • Hey I remember watching that show! I liked the second rendition! You are definitely a really good singer/musician!

  • @segagenesis1989 Thank you very much.

  • nice ...you was pretty sharp in yer younger days......and still sharp today

  • @curbshoppin Thanks. I have a couple of more gray hairs I believe.
