  • I fly at UND as well and have a gopro. Think flight ops would care if I attached it to the gear strut with the suction cup mount? Nothing in the Safety Procs that says you can't....

  • @Carsongamer23 yea..i honestly wouldn't

  • you are really gonna spend 150k on college to fly a crj?

  • @banditopilot have to start somewhere man, also worth it getting around the 1500 minimums, airlines are coming to UND trying to start pilot hiring / flow programs...yes its worth it...

  • *emails link to Dana Siewart*

  • Is UND Aerospace a "fun" university? I know it's very high quality, but how is social life there?

And may I join if I already have a PPL already?

  • @shonor6 yea..i came in with my PPL as well...and theres plenty of stuff to do..if you like hockey then we have an awesome college hockey program, and most students play hockey as well in the winter time. there are plenty of clubs and organizations to join too

  • @shonor6 who cares? dudes happy and not harming anyone. go boil an egg. or learn something. Hit up an english comp class.. Damn fb fucking people up.

@video pilot, you ever fly with a guy from Forks washington? ex cop.

  • @shonor6 Somewhat boring, even lacking tbh...small campus with not much to do besides drinking. The aerospace program is great--no doubt--though it is not the only path to becoming a professional pilot. In all honesty, find some place near your place of residence whereby you could become trained. It is almost certainly not worth going to North Dakota and spending 150,000 for a degree which is already limited in and of itself.

Just my experience, others could have it differently.

  • @AVIATIO the only problem is people getting their certificates through a traditional flight school wont be exempt from the 1500 hour ATP rule,, UND will be among the few schools who will get waived and only need 700 hours to get an airline job

  • @aviator147 Have you learned this through word of mouth, or do you have an actual source to back that up? Last when I heard, the FAA was weighing in whether that law's minima should be reduced to 700 hours for those having collegiate experience, though nothing was finalized--yet. That includes aviation universities like UND, WMU, Purdue, Auburn and so forth. The FAA had proposed this back in September of 2011, with no updates thus far. The jury is unfortunately still out.

  • Very good airmanship by engaging the starter and then applying the mixture. Very few pilots who still do that these days, it's great to see.

  • @novemberlimajuliet standard Cessna 172 start up! But thank you. I know that when I flew the Piper Archer, the procedure was different.

  • @novemberlimajuliet How else are folks starting Skyhawks?

  • @jesusFreak0321 By pushing mixture to rich and then starting, which can foul the spark plugs. Not a very good practice I must say.

  • @novemberlimajuliet anyone with a fuel injected engine will do that.

  • @sseeker21 You'd be surprised!

  • I saw the other ones they are good!

  • This is a great video! i am thinking about going to UND for flying. Is it worth it? Check out my video it was my second solo flight only about 9 hours of fly time at that point.

  • @tubagod88 ..thanks..check out the other ones...any yea...its definitely been worth it

  • It's a shame that people feel the need to belittle others with their comments. Don't worry, if you work hard at it you may grow up to actually be a decent person, Alaskanthizzlam.

By the way 147, nice work... I haven't seen a video this clear and well placed... well, ever. Thanks for posting it, and it must be a tremendous training tool as well.

  • @Cheranetube ..thanks ..check out the other ones!

  • this bitch cant even stay on cernterline lol you fuckin suck

  • you need a checklist to start a plane??? hahaha pussy

  • @alaskanthizzlam Your clearly from Embry Riddle. Do you fly?

  • @alaskanthizzlam

If you don't use a checklist, your an idiot. 747 pilots still use checklists when they fly their Cessna's.

  • Woo UND go sue haha im only 15 but i'll be going there in 2 years for Aerospace as well I cant wait!

  • @737pilot7 Sioux.....lol

  • @aviator147 ya that haha, hows the aviation program in terms of cost and stuff?

  • @737pilot7 its a good program...check out UNDs site for costs and things like that...roughly $60K for all the flight training,,,plus tuition

  • @aviator147 Ok cool thanks for the info, best of luck in you aviation career.

  • @737pilot7 ..thanks...same to you

  • I've been looking for a good place to mount the camera in a 172. Where and how do you mount it specifically?

  • @RippedWookie ..i used GoPro's own suction cup, and I mounted it on the right skylight inside the cabin

  • @aviator147 I was debating if the skylight vibrated too much. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

  • Are these cameras any good?

  • @hamham500 ..yes..otherwise i wouldnt be using it

  • How do you like flying the Cessna compared to the Archer? I flew in a skyhawk for the first time the other day and it seemed a lot smoother on takeoff and easier to fly.

  • @N605JB ,..yea, i had the same feeling when I first flew the cessna, its a bit more touchy, but once you learn to handle it...then yes..its probably a bit smoother

  • Nice ground effect control on takeoff! I gotta get me one of those GoPros....

  • @seriousfisherman3 ..thank you! i think its a lot of fun so i practice my soft field takeoffs a lot haha

  • horrible landing. you should have done a barrel roll as well. i could of. <3 o and next time do a barrel roll and ill like it... <33333333333

  • @USAF116 ..hahahahahahhahaahahahahahahhahhahahaahah PUALIE

  • Nice video! I haven't heard from you in a while.. hows your flying going? IFR training yet?

  • @XaircraftX ....this is part of it...we start with basic attitude and instrument flying...its a two part course..part one deals with what i mentioned before..and review of PPL maneuvers and procedures..however, we are now evaluated at Commercial level, because we will receive our IFR, Commercial and Multi-Engine ratings all at the same time ...and yea..first video in awhile because this was my first solo at UND haha

  • @aviator147 Oh thats cool man... I'm in stage 2 out of 3 in my IFR training and we have been doing Holdings, VOR, ILS, NDB, GPS approaches.. its alot of fun!

  • @XaircraftX ....yea same...cool thing is that in exactly one year from now..in May of 2012, ill be a CFI

  • @aviator147 thats awesome... yeah man hopefully in about 2 months ill be Instrument rated.. almost finished with stage 2 (mainly approaches) and then stage 3 IFR cross countries then checkride!

  • @XaircraftX ...nice...it sounds so much easier than what im doing...we really train hard here before we get IFR rated

  • @aviator147 Yeah probably at UND.. but this is still a part 141 school and you have to do Stage Checks and of course meet hour requirements. so your going to exceed the hours required?

  • @XaircraftX ..most definitely

  • Just visited UND this weekend and loved it!

  • @CessnaPilot1B9 ..nice!

  • @CessnaPilot1B9

    Glad you enjoyed it!

  • @CessnaPilot1B9 ...so are you coming here then?

  • @aviator147 I'm only a junior but hopefully in 2 years :)

  • Excellent!

  • @NateTheGreatPilot thanks!

  • Very cool Shelly.

  • @NickScala ...thanks SCAAAAALA!!!
