Happy 10 years! SUE T-REX has been standing proudly on the main floor of the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History for ten years now. It has been 20 years since Sue Hendrickson made the discovery.
@steven9595959595 Well some theorize the females may be bigger then males due its relationship with bird blood lines, it's not fully proven that's the case for rex nor fully confirmed but plausible nevertheless.
I heard in some documentary, that the range between every vertebrae is about 1 centimeter on a T-rex, and i think that sue was measured with the vertebrae totally together, and in living animals there is tissue between every vertebrae, so that would make Sue about 1 meter longer, so she is maybe 14 meters.
@MarcoAntonioAlfaro The actual fossils are petrified and very dense. This makes them too heavy to transport and display. Most displays are plaster because they would collapse otherwise.
This is a replica head. The original resides in a display box on the museum's mezzanine as it was too heavy to be mounted to the skeleton without distracting supports, also the head was one part that exhibited much deformity
They have found an even bigger head the Sue, but not much else of that particular T-Rex. But safe to say that the one with the bigger head also had a bigger body. Just google it for info.
man... it was like back in 2nd grade i saw her. i whent to the Kansas City Science City. man it was great.. best thing i saw in my whole life. just wish i could like see her personally again. that would be awessome. thanks for posting this on here man. =]
not much now she's dead but back in the day the only thing she had to worry about was bigger T. rexes and we've only found one bigger than her so not a lot
sue is 42 foot long and new discovery of a bigger ty-rex have been found it name is C-REX is a bout 10% bigger than sue, this mean it have 46 foot long,, now that is big
