Niteowl is nothing like Batman, save for how he inherits money and the costume resemblance(and that's only in the movie that it looks similar). Alan Moore credited who Niteowl was ACTUALLY based on the BLUE BEETLE.

Second, Dr.Manhattan is based on Captain Atom. Can't really argue much further on that, since I don't read Fantastic Four.

And it's supposed to be an alternate universe. What was so bad about the Comedian killing JFK? I thought it was well put.

I just saw the film this weekend and I loved it, and this is coming from somebody who read the book long before. Even though I knew the movie wouldn't fully do the graphic novel justice, I still sat through it and enjoyed it.

Besides, it's the same story presented in a different media style. If you can't accept that, then you shouldn't really rant about it so much.
