The GTR is very fast up until 180-200 km/h, but when it comes to higher speeds it loses power due to its 4 wheel drive and weight, so its no surprise the Vette won. Both are awesome cars!!

First of all, The Z06 has been proven to be the worst Corvette, even worse than the base coupe. It's a little lighter & more horsepower than the base, but the base proved better braking, skidpad, time around the tracks, and damn good acceleration for itself, especially for how much cheaper it is. If a GTR with launch control can't beat a z06 from a dead start, then I think my little 6 year old nephew needs to drive. The Z06 is absolutely worthless. I wouldn't take it if it was given to me.
GTR is a heavy.. it can only win where the AWD has advantage, 0-60 and powering out of corners. With a good driver and the new Corvette launch control, GTR does not stand a chance.

Only the '09 GTR's had launch control, and yes it gave them ungodly launches that devastate Ferrari 599s and SLR's, the cars also broke so much that Nissan was forced to withdraw it, and even went so far as to say that it was never supposed to be "launch control" in the first place. GTR's are BETTER, but not faster, and definitely not faster for the money.
@mpalm887 LC was never omitted from any of the GTR's LC1 2008 LC2 2009 (3300RPM) LC3 for 2010 and 2011 LC 4 (4000RPM)!!! So no Nissan did not withdraw it!!! @87834649 lol you have your knowledge mixed up. The corvette is very very hard to drive and does not promote as much confidence as the GTR. The ZR1 still beat the GTR even if was by small margin. The GTR has many computer controlled aspects which promote much more driver confidence than the ZR1 does. The Dodge Viper beat the GTR by quite a bit as well as the ZR1 but that car is built almost specifically for track days. The GTR is amazing for the weight and power but its a computer on wheels.
The 2009 Targa Tasmania Road Rally. Won by the Nissan GT-R with a Lambourghini Gallardo 2nd and a Mitsubishi Evo 3rd. The next year the GT-R took 3rd (the same Lambo that finished 2nd in 2009 won this time, and a new car, the Skelta G-Force, 2nd), while a pair of Corvette Z06's that tried to take part did no better than 16th.
@Roger0416 Sounds like you underestimate the challenges posed in a rally.
1. The driver doesn't know the course (practices are not allowed)! He must rely entirely on his navigator to get through unscaved.
2. It's a point-to-point race, not a circuit. So every corner and turn is a new one and likely full of surprises.
3. For the Targa races, the whole race takes 5 days, and each leg (per day) is up to 300kms long. Quite an endurance race, and will push both car and driver to the limit.
zr1 got better time than the GTR in the Nurb, so stfu!

@TrollingForYou a 2010+ GTR with the launch control omitted from it's production will lose even more heartily to a Z06. Only the '09 GTR's had launch control, and yes it gave them ungodly launches that devastate Ferrari 599s and SLR's, the cars also broke so much that Nissan was forced to withdraw it, and even went so far as to say that it was never supposed to be "launch control" in the first place. GTR's are BETTER, but not faster, and definitely not faster for the money.

@mpalm887 LC was never omitted from any of the GTR's LC1 2008 LC2 2009 (3300RPM) LC3 for 2010 and 2011 LC 4 (4000RPM)!!! So no Nissan did not withdraw it!!! And on the track the Z06 loses every single time to the GTR!!! I can give you the track times if you wish!!! GTR slow in a straightline but GTR 2011 11.1 124mph 1/4... Faster than the Z06...

(eg Targa Tasmnia 2010 - two Z06's participated, but the faster of them finished 16th; whereas among the top 3 was a GT-R. Even the recent Targa Newfoundland in Canada - the Corvette's less expensive brother, the Camaro, bests it.).

also there is a big difference in wich car you can tune.. some car´s can adept special engines, because of their bloodlines. Not every car can adept a GTR engine etc.... that´s my point... and this GT R... well.. you have to see and feel it for ya self...

@87834649 lol you have your knowledge mixed up. The corvette is very very hard to drive and does not promote as much confidence as the GTR. The ZR1 still beat the GTR even if was by small margin. The GTR has many computer controlled aspects which promote much more driver confidence than the ZR1 does. The Dodge Viper beat the GTR by quite a bit as well as the ZR1 but that car is built almost specifically for track days. The GTR is amazing for the weight and power but its a computer on wheels.

@Roger0416 Sounds like you underestimate the challenges posed in a rally.
1. The driver doesn't know the course (practices are not allowed)! He must rely entirely on his navigator to get through unscaved.
2. It's a point-to-point race, not a circuit. So every corner and turn is a new one and likely full of surprises.
3. For the Targa races, the whole race takes 5 days, and each leg (per day) is up to 300kms long. Quite an endurance race, and will push both car and driver to the limit.

The GTR is fast but it cant top the ZR1 and the ONLY reason the GTR is capable of posting such high times is becuase it promotes driver confidence. Import fanboys will cling to the GTR because it was supposed to be the flagship car to make them feel better about their riced out Hondas and Eclipses. They are unwilling to admit that the Corvette is just a better car. This wasn't even the ZR1 and it still dusted the twin turbo GTR. I like the GTR, but it's very overrated.
