  • This is why you ALWAYS, ALWAYS carry and extra set of underwear when metal detecting!! Great find and.....apparently a great hunt there in Kansas. And it was right below the surface?? Also noticed your detector, what kind is it?

  • Great find man! Congrats! I am happy for you. You sound very excited as well...lol HH

  • only 167 more dollars to make up for the metal detector

  • That coin rang up as a 93??? on the MXT pro?? YES!!!!

  • sweet!!

  • Thanks twogunz!

  • @592bubba Just wondering. What type of coin was this? What did it look like cleaned off?!

  • The coin itself was a beauty...1847-0 $10 gold coin, a few scratches but I'll sure take it!

  • FAntastic find. Keep digging all teh signals

  • that is sooo cool, happy for you. I am glad to see, that it's just not the UK getting gold coins..here in the states too..!!!!!

  • you lucy sun of b*tch lol dude teach me your hunting skills how do you know where to go?

  • Great dig! What part of the US you diggin? Dug some old coins myself in civil war sites in VA.

  • @h20hawgs I'm digg'n in Kansas. I talk to alot of guys who dig in VA. Lot's of good digging down there.

  • Yeah I just moved to Atlanta and it seems impossile to find any good places like VA. I am gonna keep at it until I find a few of those hard to get to hidden places that still have woods instead of concrete...

  • @h20hawgs lived in Georgia for 16 years myself go to old home sites and parks..oh yeah you might hit a jackpot somewhere there in Ga.

  • @592bubba Hi, I live in Kansas too, Clay County...could you tell me the county or area that you found it in? Im only 12 but im really getting in to this. Thanks

  • i'll give you $11 for your $10 coin

  • I'm amazed!!! Absolutely STUNNNNNNNNNINGGGG!!! I feel your pride and excitement!!!! A HUGE congradulations to you!

  • what year is it from?

  • 1847 $10 gold coin

  • How much is it worth today?

  • PCGS price guide currently shows the 1847-0 starting in VF-30 $660, MS-55 $1,700. The 1844 $5 coin is in mint condition. It starts out at VF-30 $350, MS 60 $1,800. To me...their priceless!

  • Come spring I will start my Metal Detecting. What kind of Metal Detector should I buy? I would like to purchase a top of the line detector. What do you recomend?

    Thanks.

  • Stick with the major brands like Whites, Garrett, Minelab, Fisher ect...trust me, you do not need a "top of the line" detector when starting out in this hobby. You may get into this and find out this is not what you really enjoy and you've just spent $1500 on a detector. I've been doing this a long time and presently I'm using a Whites MXT for my relic hunting. Be smart about your purchase, buy the best machine that your buget will allow and learn that machine WELL! Good luck!

  • great find can i go hunting with you !!

  • That's awesome...Greg

  • It's not the find of the day. It's a find of a lifetime! Great job!
