A 2003- 2005 G35 WILL NOT get close to an e46 M3 guys, come on do that math. Not even the 07-08 HR G35's will, but they'll be closer. A 07-08 HR Z on the other hand is right on par with the M3 with low 13 second quarter miles (some people have got 13 flat with both cars stock, but usually both cars will trap at 13.3-13.5).

When I have actually had a lot less problems with my G35 as I did with the M3, MAF sensors going bad, throwing codes after and exhaust was installed, etc...
I used to own an E36 M3, and E46 M3.. And I currently own a G35 with every bolt-on making 279rwhp and 261ft/lbs.. I can say the G35 is faster and definately has more torque than my E46 M3, but I still miss it.. Just something about a BMW that you cant find in a Nissan.. Although parts are much cheaper for the G35, I paid $1,200 for a UUC stage.2 clutch for the M3, and only $350 for the clutch in the G.
i agree! I had an 04 350 touring, and was able to stay door to door with a 05 m3 from 70 to 138 i had a plenum spacer and intake. We both were in 4th gear on the high way and didnt down shift, i was pretty much shocked! I spent some time behind the wheel of my best friends smg 05 m3 and i have to say the g is really good....the m is better!
i am a die hard g35 fan and i still agree 100% that m3>G35, the value of a car is defined by its total package which is "performance, comfort, respect from the street, handling, everything, etc as a whole package, you deff get the "whole package" when you get an M3, G35 may be easier to upgrade and quicker 0-60 after that but guys that do this to their g35 still need to show respect for the M3, a beautiful machince

I have an FX35 and its quick enough for me. I can put a stage three supercharger in it and it will bump it up to 402bhp with out even voiding warranty. But why? I'll just end up racing everyone in it. :D

I have a 2002 M3 e46 and i drive it with respect.Sometime on a red light , when some guys want to see it fly I will shift it 1 and 2 but thats it...I rather go slow and people can enjoy seeing the car as it passes by (not that i like beeing looked at ) but when you own a car like that it turns heads. If i want to kick the shit out of it i,ll go on a track (it never happend though don't want to mess it up)And i keep my cars stock.
I have a 03 m3 and I baby mine too! It's one of the best mean looking design of its time without looking cheesy with big wings and all sorts of extra stubs hangin off. It a fine car at its best! Are these cars in the same class? I am not sure we are comparing apples to apples here. I thought about a new G37 or a used M3, but now I think I will just hang on to my beater until I can get a used V8 M3. Plus demographically I like the exclusivity of the BMW better.
I agree, the G35 6MT is a luxury sports car and thats about it. I could almost swear Infiniti exaggerated the 280 HP on this car. I love mine but wouldn't even try going along with a BMW. The car is heavy and slow but still cheaper to repair and more reliable then the BMW. But then again, if you have to worry about the cost of repairing a BMW, you shouldn't be driving one.
BMW's are pretty easy to maintain. It's the people who bring them to the dealership with out a warranty that get screwed. I bring my car to an independent garage with a mechanic that worked exclusively on BMW's. I don't buy OEM parts anymore and it ends up saving me money. Not to mention the fact that labor is $25 less per hour at the garage I go to.
Thats funny that you mention that because I do the same thing with my ''G''. My mechanic is an independent vietnamese mechanic and he works on all my cars. I got fucked by Infiniti and will probably never buy another car from them because of that.

I have an FX35 and its quick enough for me. I can put a stage three supercharger in it and it will bump it up to 402bhp with out even voiding warranty. But why? I'll just end up racing everyone in it. :D

Can I be like every other idiot and hate on your M3? I have a G35 too...but I don't hate on M3s. Unless a G35 is boosted, a G35 will never have a chance against a E46 M3...unless the M3 driver can't shift. I met 3 of those back when I was NA. It was probably my proudest moments NA, haha.

i drive a 04 m3 and looked in the g35 as a second car, there both beautiful cars, bmw has more performance then the stock g35, but i would have to lean towards the infiniti for more luxury then the bmw, either way great race, and both great cars

I own a 06 6mt G35 coupe...great car,instant pantydropper, but its more luxury than performance. Ive had too many close races with Audi A4s and Honda Accord coupes...i wouldnt even insult myself and race an M3. The G can barely keep up with a 335i..my lease is up in July...im switching to BMW.

I have a 2002 M3 e46 and i drive it with respect.Sometime on a red light , when some guys want to see it fly I will shift it 1 and 2 but thats it...I rather go slow and people can enjoy seeing the car as it passes by (not that i like beeing looked at ) but when you own a car like that it turns heads. If i want to kick the shit out of it i,ll go on a track (it never happend though don't want to mess it up)And i keep my cars stock.

I have a 03 m3 and I baby mine too! It's one of the best mean looking design of its time without looking cheesy with big wings and all sorts of extra stubs hangin off. It a fine car at its best! Are these cars in the same class? I am not sure we are comparing apples to apples here. I thought about a new G37 or a used M3, but now I think I will just hang on to my beater until I can get a used V8 M3. Plus demographically I like the exclusivity of the BMW better.

I agree, the G35 6MT is a luxury sports car and thats about it. I could almost swear Infiniti exaggerated the 280 HP on this car. I love mine but wouldn't even try going along with a BMW. The car is heavy and slow but still cheaper to repair and more reliable then the BMW. But then again, if you have to worry about the cost of repairing a BMW, you shouldn't be driving one.

BMW's are pretty easy to maintain. It's the people who bring them to the dealership with out a warranty that get screwed. I bring my car to an independent garage with a mechanic that worked exclusively on BMW's. I don't buy OEM parts anymore and it ends up saving me money. Not to mention the fact that labor is $25 less per hour at the garage I go to.
