Very impressive, considering that cheetahs do not have retractable claws like lion or leopards etc. thus their grip is not as good. This one showed that you do not need fancy tools, just good technique :-) Great hunt.

Reminds me of the way a falcon hits a heavier duck in mid flight. They make a pass, not a collision, with talons designed to close and damage muscle in a moment. that was an awesome catch. Cheetah is exceptionally quick off the mark cat, and can hit some incredible speeds; but to make that distance and still get a feed is huge. They can't run those speeds for long as they wear out quickly. That was fantastic footage.

Actually the gazelle was unlucky it used an amazing maneuver.....it picked speed slightly in the direction the cheetah was running and made a 170 degree turn and jump in the air...if the Cheetah claws did not touch land.....it would have picked speed too fast by the time the Cheetah made a U turn....I bet that this works more of the time and we are lucky to see the one time it didn't quite make out...
