every one of those palm strikes has been passed on by master to student for over a thousand years.

That means that anyone who knows wing chun knows what kind of attack's to expect and that basicly renders forms redundent. It was one of the main reasons why bruce lee formed a school of jeet kun do because of the limits of all schools martial arts. theres no sense in using a form that everyone knows. the same goes for all styles of martial arts hence the corner stone of jkd style without style

look at the way his body tenses up before he's able to unleash the speed he becomes like a board and as all martial artists know board's are ment for breaking. A real good punch shouldn't have any pre form preperation like this. It should flow like water but instantly with explosive power. Every move should lead to the next so no energy or time is wasted. It's also one thing to be skilled at a form and another to be able to take your oponents form apart.

Fast, but it's like piercing- point impact. I would perfer elbows or something - then it wouldn't matter if the guy has his chin down. I think if the guy would had his throut attacked like this while being open (like on the vid) - he would go back after like 2-3 shots in a real situation xD. Accuracy comes with speed naturally. And momentum has its natural place with speed. If he would land one solid strike with this speed between the shoulder and chest, at the temple, or certain points at the neck it could easily disable a person. It is ridiculous how many(hundreds) weaknesses the body has. All he need do is strike with good speed with the correct form from his footing to his shoulder to his strike and presto ouch!

Well. Some people are born with fast hands- but if you want to get faster I'd suggest using a punching bag blindfolded. Without your sight- you rely much more on feeling and touch. Which could make you used to getting faster.

This guy is Tommy Carruthers. He is a pro in Jeet Kune Do, the concept that Bruce Lee practiced. People that have been around him and Bruce say that he is slightly better than Bruce because his kicks are faster and he is more flexible. Also it is said that one of Tommy's punches to the chest has a chance of stopping the heart, but that is really irrelevant. What I am getting at is why most people like Bruce Lee and admit that he is strong but shun Carruthers. Here he is just teaching

He's pretty quick.. but until I see a vid that shows the the practical application of what he's demonstrating it doesn't really mean a hell of a lot to me. To all the Sunday Warriors and Armchair Generals out there, don't be so quick to put down someones chosen martial art. Theres a lot more to it than what you see on TV.
