I think none of us have chioce. Just an opinion, but, i think every single atom has a set path based on laws of physics, the laws we know and ones we dont. Our minds are basicly celular computers that process information. Our so called choices are just based off every memory and experience we have ever had. People talk about free will, but is it? Everything comes down to the laws of physics and they cannot be bent by the mind or conciousness. We are just an arrangement of atoms .
The fear of humanity losing value only affects those with an inflated view of humanity's importance. The reason religions tell us that we have some kind of "innate value" or puspose is probably just to keep us all from going crazy. But the truth is we're not important. No more so than a drop of water in the ocean. However, that said, I suppose if you look at the ocean as an accumulation of individual drops then maybe we have just a little importance. But not much.
The conclusion is crap! This is just determinism and argument by analogy. Destructive religions are built on this kind of claptrap. The dividing lines between self and collective are among the principle problems of civilization. The solution advocated here seeks to solve these problems by depriving individuality. The "I" looses interest, because the "I" is extinguished in the argument. This is a nihilistic philosophy that devalues humanity by devaluing individuality.
Steve is a great teacher he ranks with Mooji,Charlie Hayes, Burt Harding, Ariel Bravy, Tony Parson, Sailor Bob, and several other males and females that have a very simple unencumbered direct approach to pointing out the direction and cluster fuck our minds do with absolutely ever thought ,perception, and interaction we have with life.
@jobedied Burt Harding is questionable. No one can post comments or questions freely at any of his videos- he censors all comments. What is he worried about ? someone disagreeing with him ? someone knowing more than he does. Why the control? I've disagreed with him on many points but he won't allow comments unless he approves them. What he is is an Insecure Guru.
Just beautiful! I really like Stephen's simple, yet direct pointing at the Absolute. If you enjoyed this, you might like my video on youtube called, "Seeing Through the Illusion of Thought."
so he is saying baby rapers and mass murderers don't have a choice. i not asking a question. i'm commenting on the downside/ darkside of everything just happening and the existence of the relative inside the absolute.
Yes, there's no individual doer. All action is a divine happening through a mechanism, no matter if a human body or any other object. It's not something done by someone, it's an event happening precisely according to the cosmic law. I.e., everything that happens is justice. The point is that, at the level of the wordly view the fault is considered of the mechanism who inflicts the suffering, but at the level of the spiritual view the fault is always of the sufferer, or the event wouldn't happen.
Wolinski seems to be getting a bad press which I think it not really deserved. Compared to the vast majority of titles out there purporting to 'have the answer' he seems more on track than most. This stuff is impossible to talk about as it is beyond language and all mental constructs - and I think anyone who makes a workmanlike stab at disseminating the basic notion deserves respect - especially from those who see their illusory 'selves' as being more enlightened.
One thing I know about Wolinsky is that he's a shameless opportunist. He wrote at least one book that looked EXACTLY like "I Am That." On the inside it was basically lots of Nisargadatta quotes interspersed with repeated "bullshit" expletives from Wolinsky. Easy money I guess.
"I am what I have been from the beginning, what I always will be . . . a part of the Whole, the restless part that desires to return, yet lives to seek expression in doing, creating, building, giving, growing, leaving more than it takes, and above all desires to bring back gifts of love to the Whole . . .the paradox of total unity and the continuity of the part. I know the Whole . . . I am the Whole . . . even as a part I am the totality"
Thank you Stephen, I am now going through the 4th DVD of the "I Am that I Am" series with Nisargadatta Maharaj, Nagarjuna and your welcoming clarity that is so far beyond the "Truthiness" of all the "spiritual" attachments. Through you, Maharaj is alive as I Am - and before - as well. How did this choiceless thing come to "me"?
Does the ocean of consciousness have choice?

A droplet of water doesn't have free will to decide where to go.
Therefore you don't have any free will to decide where to go.
Great fucking logic.
Unilke a droplet of water however. I have a brain and two legs, and the common sense to tell bullshit from rational thought.
This guy talks bullshit, but with great enough conviction to fool the weak of mind.
Confuse the fuck out of people and claim that you know the answers and the sheep will come :D

Why do anything?

When you eliminate the division between self and Self, the notion of "free will" also goes away.

Then this notion about choice is naturally a delusion since it's only a thought following whatever action has occurred.

@No3Patriot I see your point and you could very well be right on. But in his defense he does come up with some good points.

@jobedied Yes, he does come up with some good points- points he does not allow you comment on without his approval.
