I miss Mervyn. I understand why the part happened and I'm just glad Take 6 is still together singing and I'm glad Mervyn is still blessing us with his beautiful voice.
..............Dave Thomas is in the spot Merv once owned and Joey has fit quite well into the part Dave was singing. It’s only logical that the sound would change somewhat. However, I think it’s a good thing. There is no issue of superior or inferiority; it’s just different. If nothing else, it certainly has raised my level of respect for Dave Thomas and his abilities (his arrangements). I had no idea he was such a beast! I like both sounds.
I think it’s interesting how “in tune” Take 6 fans are to the changes, how ever slight, made to their sound. I agree; the sound has changed slightly, since the transition from Merv to Joey. Logically it would change, especially since it wasn’t as simple as slipping Joey into Merv’s spot. In actuality................
I agrre with the last comment. Absolutely NO dis to Joey Kibble, but for that powerfully shrilling uper register, tight sound THE combo was Mark, Claude and my man with the tre topper voice, Mervyn. But, with or without Mervyn Take Six are still my boys, just a lil extre special with Mervyn.
@lowroller100 I agree with both you and RosebudEnt.Its only logical that the "sound" with change , especially to the in-tuned critical ear of most T6-aholics like myself *giggles*
I had a professor in my music school that used to go on tour with T6 and he told me,and I quote,"When Mervyn left,I was through with Take 6"--Thats ROUGH!
I still am going to forever be a T6 fan. And now that Ced is leaving, the sound with change more(If Kristian D.) Remains. Will I still listen and buy T6 Music? YES!
@Divaninho7 Yes I agree... Pity.. Ive been a Take 6 fan since their inception in 1988 over 20+ years Ive been enjoying their arrangements and tight harmonies. I have nothing against Joey Kibble. I think he stepped in on time.
But It seemed like the "sound" is slightly different . To *me* I can hear the difference. Not changed for the worse, Just... "different"
I think the Upper voices : Claude, Mark , Mervyn Were a perfect "Sound/Blend" to me :)
Praise God, for you uploading this song! I purchased the song on lala.com before they closed the website, and I accidentally removed it after downloading it. I had been trying to find this song. Thank You So Much!

Does anyone have Mervyn singing a song called "I will meet you there." I think that's what it's called.
