  • Always show the crossing?

If some moron gets hit, you will have captured it on video.

  • Specially-shaped, fine sound! :) ♥

  • Liked & Fav'd. Thanks..........Mike

  • That is what we in Australia call 'a great cross'.

  • are the cars behind the engines just for aerodynamic purpose or is it just to look good? or is there another reason?

  • What's tgat car behind the engines

  • Man I wish we had Acela up here.

  • Surfliner engine on the cascades train!!! Nice catch!!!

  • Talgo alive! Spain alive !!!!!

  • That sounded like a K5HL on the second train, with 461 pushing?? Great catch! Now, if only we could see a Cascades loco pulling a Surfliner...

  • good catch!

  • What was F59PHI 461 doing that far north?

  • Surfliner F59PHI's may be callled if one of their locos are not working

  • Thanks!

  • I just can't understand one thing about the cabbage cars on the Cascades trains. How can they have a horn if they don't have an engine to produce power for the horn?

  • The wheels generate power to operate them. The F59PHI also sends similar currents to the control F40PH.

  • Ah. thanks. I guess even 'scrap-metal' locomotives can come in handy.

  • They are not cabbage cars. There is no storage compartments,I think they are only HEP and control cab cabable.

  • Son 2 trenes Amtrak con coches españoles TALGO. Suspensión basculante, con gran confort en curvas.

  • 5*****

    Greetings.

  • Wow I didn't realize some of the cabbages had K5HL horns...that's the same horn on GEVO's, right? Anyway, great video!

  • yes That is the same horn as the horn on the GEVO's.

  • Most Definably not

  • It sure sounded like one though.

  • Yeah, I know that for sure. Check out my BNSF video with the GEVO in it. They sound almost exactly the same, just the GEVO has it tuned deeper very slightly.

  • yes, the gevo's have a lower sound for one simple reason, they have different bells on it. K5HL's have Bells 1l, 1, 2, 3, 4 and the H in the K5HL stands for high manifold, k5la's have 1, 2, 3a, 4a, 5 on them with a Low manafold. the one on the amtrak is a k5LA because its a low manafold and produces some of the higher tones then the HL does.

  • Great Catch kd! you Caught a F59PHI with A GREAT K5LA!

  • that deffinantly is not a K5HL, its just a poorly maintained K5LA

  • That is a nice K5HL horn on the F40. Nice with the Surfliner unit. 5 Stars for sure.

  • do you know what number that surfy was?

  • On my computer it shows up as HD. Yeah. . . HD!!!! But anyway, I got very close 2 the screen and saw it was 461.

  • Where can i get a rain guard like yours for my camera?

  • Good video. Nice catch.

  • cool meet and a surfliner engine. Great shot!
