  • the real Filipino are Bisayan or cebuano lol

  • Can some one clarify something for me... Are Filipinos Hispanic or Asian?

  • @3stch3r We're not fucking pacific islanders, learn about your heritage idiot, our culture and the way we look, is nothing close to any pacific islanders, except for guam, which actually they are known to share genetic links with other asians.

The only link we have with polynesia for example, is a few terms, as we share this commonality with others in Asia.

  • This is why Kumusta is used in the Tagalog language? I AM NOT HISPANIC DAMNIT? OR AM I?

  • @freedfighter96 Loanwords don't make you hispanic ;) Especially if the tagalogs used a different term before for greetings. "Magandang gabi" and such.

  • i want to learn tagalog puro and the people just want to talk in english or in taglish. jesus christ, how can i live in a country like this?

Hope you're enjoying your History lesson.

  • @ThtOnePinoy nd other ways too.....but they're all related loooololol

  • It wasn't only the spanish that are prick. Pretty much all european countries were nd some still are selfish bastards. In hawaii we got it from the U.nited S.tates of A.ss

  • @ThtOnePinoy Ya dawgg thanks. But i think all nonwhite nations had its share of abuse from whites. But im happy the philippines is free from spanish rule, still got thier language,nd its population is vast. At least one of my homelands is doing good =)

  • @hawaiian96chence Indeed, although some are not free, mentality-wise...

  • @ThtOnePinoy Our culture got butchered too man/girl whatever yuu are lol...

  • @hawaiian96chence Haha Mangirl ;) but no im a guy.

Anyways of course, don't think I don't know, I have definitely heard of it your guy's suffering as well... Even a lot in south east asia, like Timor, were in the same boat as us...

  • @ThtOnePinoy oh soo yuur in the country i despise then haha....

  • @hawaiian96chence lolol you and the rest of the world.

Hmm well it's in California at least.

  • @ThtOnePinoy lolol ya i guess everyone don't like the U.S haha. Yuu know i had no idea there were flips in the U.S or around the world.....i thought they're only in PI and hawaii haha

  • @hawaiian96chence Nope, like the Japanese, Hawaii was mainly halfway between us and the U.S., but some stayed. We're everywhere, not even just in PI, we're also all over asia in general, and some in Micronesia. U.S. especially in California. We're all over the world :P

  • @ThtOnePinoy LoL ya like appl.de.ap from black eye peas....hes from cali rite lol....haha im actualy japanese too xP ......wow soo if my flip ancestors didn't work in hawaii i prolly wouldn't even be here =\

i gotta say flips from hawaii are diferent than flips everywhere else tho lol...

  • @hawaiian96chence Damn that's a lot of great mixes :D

  • @ThtOnePinoy great mixes?? whatchu talkin about homie lol??

  • @hawaiian96chence Didn't you say you were like, Hawaian, Filipino, and Japanese? :D

  • @ThtOnePinoy oh ya....yo look on my channel....thats all my ethnicities loololollol......nd homie how dare yuu misspell HAWAIIAN... its like rite there in my name wtf man lol....yuu lucky yuu my boii yuu could get cracks with someone else loolol...

  • @hawaiian96chence LOL I honestly do not know, I could've sworn I put another I...

  • @ThtOnePinoy haha everyone gets a hard time at first loololol......so homie yuu got a flip last name?? or did yuur ancestors take a white name or something loololol....

  • @hawaiian96chence Hmm My dad had a european name, ironically it isn't spanish LOL, while my moms name, on the other hand, is native, Diamsun :P

  • @ThtOnePinoy oh loloololo cool... soooo wait is diamsun yuur last name??...my last name is actualy a filipino one,amazingly.... it coulda been one of all my other ethnicities by the flip one survived haha....my last names batalona xP

  • @hawaiian96chence Technically, I prefer it since it's original.

Hmm Batalona? That's freakin cool :D

  • @ThtOnePinoy loloolol dont know how its cool but thanx homie:D .....i think i'd rather have a nonwhite last name....seems better to me haha.....heyy so what kinda flip are yuu?? im either illocano or visayan (spelling) cuz thats the 2 types that came to hawaii nei haha...

  • @hawaiian96chence Batalona? Is it a western name? Im not sure, I had thought a name like Laxamana once was a spanish name, but only because of the spelling, when actually it's a filipino name, spelled "Laksamana", it even sounded native...

    Im Kapampangan :P

  • @ThtOnePinoy umm idk if its a western name....i know pple (well i guess thier fam cuz they have my last name loolo) on facebook from PI with my last name....but i found this interesting yuu know Manny Paquiao (well who doesn't) i have friends with his last name but its spelt diferent...their grandparents told me when thier flip ancestors came to hawaii they had to write thier name and they could write it anyway....so i know these different ways Pacyau.pacyao, pakeau <---thats in hawaiian tho lool

  • Read this book “Manila men in the new world” you'll find some Mexicans their roots can be traced from the Philippines vice versa and Filipinos inherited some of Mexicans culture and tradition due to Galleon trade...Tatay which is dad in Filipino language for example is actually Aztecs (Nahuatl language)(amazon.com/dp/9715425291/ref=nosim?tag=idigita-20&linkCode=sb1&camp=212353&creative=380549)

  • Regardless, there was no regard for human life, no compassion, no remorse that the spanish ever gave, not just to the philippines, but to every country it colonized, did not give one shit about the country's integrity as a people, they only cared for themselves... Haha but we still can rebuild, only because we were in the far east did our culture even hope to survive, in fragments... If I were alive back then, I would be damn sure to piss on legazpi's and magellans grave, and I would today.

  • @ThtOnePinoy how did you know, buhay ka ba sa mga panahong yong? have you experience first hand? or you baseless comments are all pure multiple hearsay, incredible and not worthy of weight to be believed. how about the americans? no compassion etc. din ba?

  • @rabisrabis Hmm, it's in a lot of historical accounts, for example, recorded in the ming shi lu(chinese historical archive) of what they named as the "luzon tragedy"(I will link you this later), they started growing anti-chinese sentiment everywhere, and the officials of manila started killing chinese merchants/civillians/officials, at least 30,000 were killed, the survivors fled to guagua, or "wawa" as was known back then, o'o, meron american atrocity din.

  • @rabisrabis and you really need to stop being one sided, I've seen your comments, they are all baseless and without source, we didn't just give in, we fought, but not before they tricked us against each other from the start.

  • @rabisrabis Seriously, if you're going to insult me, at least be organized in which language your going to use, seriously, nokarin ing utak mu? Dipan na ka ning alti!!!

  • @DonBoyso And that's why you took it back, you are so lucky im not reposting it... What is this "black legend" you speak of???

  • @ThtOnePinoy You are generalizing. There were a lot of very good Spanish people who cared deeply for the filipinos, and on the other hand the Americans did a lot more harm in the Philippines that we ever did, they destroyed the good values and morals of filipino family life with their hollywood and quick money grabbing dreams. They used the filipino in every sense, prostitution, cannon fodder, cheap labour and so on. You should read the real history of your country, before you write bullshit

  • @PhallusFlaccidus While I agree that I unfairly did not give enough light to the Spanish who were actually good and actually cared for the Filipinos to retain their actual culture instead of Spanish, and as well I do agree of what the Americans did, clearly, more damage has been done than good... But is it their fault? No, everyone is at fault here, including us.

But the point is I know there were good people, but in general, the Spanish empire had evil ambitions, but not Spain as a whole.

  • @PhallusFlaccidus (continued) And this is to be expected, most empires had evil ambitions, thats how they became an empire in the first place.

Sorry, but as well I am just tired of some people who try to twist our history, over exaggerating that more good happened than bad, but if that were true, then my country wouldn't be in the state it is in now(besides the damages that were done by other filipinos themselves). To deny that happened is to censor real history, and cmon, we're not PRC...

  • @PEACErepublicO1 Its not the blood, it's the strong perpetual resentment, even some spaniards agree with similar things, such as akanwasalbo and others I have talked to. I will not dismantle spain itself just because of what it did in the past :P but I have heard a lot of worse comments, and that my friend, is just the result of what happens if you become an oppresive imperialist.

  • Rizal es un producto de educacion hispanico. Sin Espana, No hay Filipina o Filipino ni El pais Filipina. The thing is what is happening to the motherland radiates to its colonies. We should know history and Judge base on facts. IF Spain is to oppressive Rizal would never be in Europe nor studied. Even if they might be rascal, I thank them for the name of YEshua they brought, in which is greater that anything else (though Im not a catholic). Baruch Shalom!

  • "He who does not love his own language is worse than an animal and smelly fish."

"He who does not know how to look back at where he came from will never get to his destination."

    - Dr. Jose Rizal

  • @ronelle106 I totally agree with you. The hispanic culture is so beautiful. It's too bad that it's fading in our country.

  • @unamerican666 Many natives were happy to have Christianity brought to them, u cannot say they were all against europeans, plus some tribes had barbaric practices that shocked even the most shocking of cavalry. Plus a comment on Native Americans & their views on AngloEuropeans has no relevance here. Unless u refer to S.America & Spanish, & then I have little sympathy for their barbaric nations, and still separate from the Phillipinnes. U think Europeans/America are the bad guys Wow big shock!

  • fuck religion. lets unite as one nation and move forward. prosperity is number one priority so that our people should never ever leave to another country. They also get discriminated and treated like shithole in other countries u know. lets separate church and state like what they did here in the USA.

  • kaloka lang ang pinas minsan talaga!!! this is one thing i really dont understand nakakulong ka na nga... tatakbo ka pa in public office tapos mananalo ka pa! fine they maybe have good intentions to p.i, pero naman ang pangit kasing tignan na nakakulong tapos gagawa ka ng batas?! kamusta naman!!! i guess pinoys should learn that being a public servant is a commitment and ready to help and serve you no matter what! parang naging OA na sa demokrasya ang pinas eh!!!!

  • @AkanwasaIbo Dont be ashamed! Its only a part of history that was mess up. The most important of all is we know the truth. And make effort on how to solve issues and heal the wounds that your ancestors created all over the world. If my tribe will ask about the honor that Spain-Us denied a century ago. At the right time... Hands it back... Hasta la Vista y vaya con dios! Arriva Jolojanos...

  • @AkanwasaIbo History teaches not to blame the descendant of the actions of the ancestors, besides its a trend that happens with oppresive empires, but the best thing to do is to learn, rebuild, and advance from it, because it is also pretty much the only thing we can do.

  • @dumadlaw

    Huwag naman ganyan

  • @tofutokwa Under the Spanish Era, use to call the Muslim in the Philippines as MORO. And discriminate totally the Muslim. Defining Moro us uncivilized people. They paint Moro in bad portrait. Moro is literate people with good moral who love peace as a Muslim but the invader disturb our silent when they wanted to take our freedom to there hands by force. Do you think thats not slavery? The truth is painful. Tell our identity as Filipinos to Spain. And ask why they call you Filipinos that time

  • @dumadlaw

Islam is as foreign to East Asia as Christianity is.

Once Islam began to gain control in SE Asia, (13-14th century on) the slave trade expanded particularly via the jihad expeditions of the Malaccan and other ‘sultanates’ against Filipinos,

Animist hill peoples eventually disappeared due to their enslavement and ‘incorporation’ into the Muslim population of Malaya, Sumatra, Borneo, and Java via raids, tribute and purchase, especially of children.

Spain saved Filipinos from all that.

  • @RafaelMinuesa. How sure are you about the facts? Islam in the Philippines is already installed 200 years before Christianity. Spain is highly advantage in all means towards there mission. Spanish burn all the records we had so that no one can trace the origin. You dont have the rigth to say that Spain saved the Filipinos. Can you tell me where did the Spanish took the named "FILIPINOS" and what it means to SPAIN?

  • @dumadlaw

Wala naman akong problema doon kaya lang ang sa akin lang naman it was about Spanish in the Philippines and not about Christian versus Muslim thing.

  • @tofutokwa Kabayan let's get it simple... The root of conflict is about principle. The ancestor of the Philippines is a Muslim. Our tribes is belong to a Muslim clan. Raja is a Muslim, Sultan is a Muslim... Spain occupied by Muslim 700 years before they went to the Philippines. Did you know that? ... Learn from history!!! Truth will set you free...

  • @dumadlaw

but what is the point of resurrecting that issue? Would it make any difference? Look at Mindanao right now? Are you proud of what had happened to the MUSLIM MINDANAO? What is that you called principle? Eversince our ancestor was naturally regionalistic, Enta Tausug? Siguro alam mo naman ang Sulu ang pinakamahirap na bayan sa Pilipinas perhaps we should thank Spain for the culture

  • @tofutokwa AIWA! Ana Tausug! The effect of this ugliness of Sulu and Mindanao is the product of Spanish Invade for searching the Spice Island... The effect also of American neo-colinization and the last is the Martial Law... They take our richest and buried our identity. Our twin kingdom is Brunei Darussalam, Hey look at Brunei compare to the Philippines... Small country like Sulu we have same principles... You dont know what the richest of Sulu...

  • @dumadlaw

Isang tanong, isang sagot: Bakit may MILF at Abu Sayyaff? And how would you remember Gringo Honasan?

  • @dumadlaw

Im not insulting anyone or anybody. Im just telling the truth.

*from Messenger of Allah (PBUH): "Give up what is doubtful to you for that which is not doubtful; for truth is peace of mind and falsehood is doubt".

  • @dumadlaw

Bakit ayaw ninyo bang makiisa sa bansang Pilipinas? Why do you struggle for a separate identity? Why secede?

  • @tofutokwa

Isang tanong, isang sagot: ba ang katanungan mo kabayan? Hindi siguro... I would like to clarify to you that I am Muslim who privately study my religion and some comparative studies I took. If i will answer your question i might be wrong or correct bcoz i dnt have basis at all... Pareho tayo walang alam.

  • @tofutokwa Im not stupid or foolish... The people or leader in the Philippines is not capable to unite Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. If 1 leader is to 50,086,054 voters then 1 is equal to unity. Therefore unity is 1. Do you know some1 who can unite us as 1? One of the best person in the world and he is a world class also is Gat Dr. Jose Rizal... He is the big punch for SPANISH in the Philippines during that time. Spanish hate him but he loves Spain

  • @dumadlaw

Kamusta na ang Sulu? May naging bf me jan mabait naman kaya lang sobrang babaero

  • @dumadlaw

    bti3raf titkalem 3arabi?

  • @dumadlaw You know the one where the first battle against the Spaniards was, for example lapu-lapu. and lapu-lapu was not a Muslim, he had a religion like the American Indians.

  • @ExTreMHeaDShot . He is a Muslim before Spanish came to the Philippines. They hide the identity of Lapu-Lapu. The issue on his time is because of taxes and Christianizing the inhabitant of that island. They have strong believe to allah to defend the islamic territory. Imagine my friend if he is a pagan (Lapu-Lapu) it is a shameful experience for the western who run and killed by the pagan in the archipelago in behalf they are highly advantage in armor an weapon.Think about that if he is a pagan

  • wtf i hate my spanish descendet too, why couldn't america colonize first instead of the invading spanish

  • @rafaelminuesa about the Filipino-American war yes alot of filipinos died but not because of America it was a bad general who responsible for that and when the newpapers in America found out about it they demanded it to stop . The American people were upset to learn of it , so put things in it proper prespective. And i do respect the Philippine and the people very much but im also proud of my country which still to this day is sending money to philippines eventhough our own country is in trouble

  • @rafaelminuesa i know about manila i been there many times i also went to the museum for Jose Rizal he was murdered by spain. And the Philippine economy suffer because of bad elections like Marcos but i guess America is blaimed forevery problem everywhere . And manila was bombed by Japanese not Americans how many filipinos died becuase of them ? I do respect the filipinos .

  • @RafaelMinuesa what kind of drugs are you taken your facts are very wrong so is your history .i watched many of your comment on different videos . you say spain make phillippines 2 largest economy but after the usa beat spain philippines fall to like 23 something like that well that becoz of bad elections their the usa is only a advisor . second you say spain is more of a thought well tell that so Jose Rizal they killed him because of his thoughts im tired of people trying to rewrite history!

  • You know Filipinos should stop being racist and unite as one nation. We should be proud of our heritage whether its Spanish, American, Malay, Moro or whatever. We will never become great if we act like kids, spewing hate and racial comments. That's stupid. We owe our national heores and ancestors cuz they worked hard to build our nation what it is today. The least we can do is study historical facts and not get brainwashed by colonial propaganda. There is enough info to learn the facts.

  • There are more ethic asian living in the philippines than spanish. And besides Spanish people dont even visit the philippines after the spanish war, so why do we believe we are spanish?

  • Good for your hometown especially you already know what you are doing , but if you ask the Spanish where do their wealth came from during their colonization here at the Philippines they must say that it came from the high taxes being paid by the Filipinos(tributo), polo y servicios , slavery , stealing of our natural resources and our real identity that we were a civilized country ever since the spanish came -- and what they do is that they burned the records..no offense , just reality...

  • @bayot

Spain as of 2009 is #9, as ranked by its gross domestic product (nominal).

By GDP (nominal) per capita it ranks #23 (31,946), just after Italy #21 (35,435) and United Kingdom #22 (35,334), and ahead of Kuwait #24 (31,482) and Hong Kong #25 (29,826).

As of June 2010 Spain's economy represents 12% of all the European Union GDP and is the 10th largest economy in the world.

By the way, there is a large Filipino community.

  • @ronelle106

I think its the other way around!

Koreans are trying to become Pinoy, 'cause our linguistic capability!

Korean music is just like a FAD, just like in the early '80's were Jap music flourish in Asia!

  • @ronelle106

I personally welcome these "asians" invaders. it may not exactly be South East Asian but its the closest we filipinos have since 300 something odd years of Hispanification and Americanization.

  • @ronelle106 What's worse is that filipino americans would label themselves as "pacific islander" and they think their culture matches real pacific islanders (guam, samoa, etc.)

  • @ronelle106 its not korea,its japan....

  • uu cant be one of us get that shit right fags viva!!! espana !!!

  • @hightone818

Sorry to disappoint you faggot, but they don't want to be one of you.

In fact nobody in their right mind would want to be even remotely similar to you.

I'll tell you more, I take pride in not being like you. I mean I'm not perfect but just the thought of having anything to do with scum like you makes me retch.

    Arriba Esapña !

    Abajo los amariconados !

  • @hightone818

    Keep on dreaming!

Spain is still considered as 3rd world country in Europe!

  • When I study in the university, I read this precious epic of the Philippine literature in the language Spanish, who is Noli Me Tangere de Jose Rizal, and with this book I understood that the Hispanics we have a common past with The Philippines, and this makes us be only and special, because you are our Latin brothers of Asia

  • @luisdiego29

Problem is that Filipinos are not able to read Noli Me Tangere or any other book of Jose Rizal, nor any other of their founding fathers. Instead they are served misleading English translations that have been stripped of any conciliatory terms towards the Spanish people and culture and try to promote the hate against Spain. It was part of the propaganda tactics after the Spanish-American war and the following invasion. Spanish was forbidden both in schools and public life.

  • All filipinos have SPANiSH BLOOD running through their veins( except western part of Mindanao), we can't deny the fact that Spain gave us everything they have in Spain! Except the EQUALiTY we are begging as a REGULAR SPANiSH people!

Their(SPAiN) prejudicial, 2 standard, acknowledgement of Filipinos in their society, led to the Filipino REVOLT!

  • In the dialog in this video (in Spanish language) it reaffirms the hatred that the North Americans inculcated into the people of Philippines, but though it is true that the Spanish was in general a despot, also it is true that a lot of good thing that today has Philippines, they came from Mexico and after Spain. Regards of Costa Rica, Central America.

  • The Hate I have toward a spaniard is Inhumane. I will never forgive a spaniard... i will never be friends with a spaniard. I spit on all the faces of spaniards. After what they did... control the country i love and have pride for... Killed my countrymen and women for not following their beliefs!? If I had one wish i would want to dismantle the land called Spain. FUCK U SPANIARDS U CAN ALL BURN IN HELL FOR ALL I FUCKIN CARE

  • @carlo1994

What your hate really makes you is a sub-human. According to your theory you should hate ALL Americans for killing over a million Filipinos. Remember the "kill everyone over ten"? But you don't, instead you go to the US and work as a servant for them. What kind of a low-life are you?

Spaniards never did anything even remotely similar to that. Actually, Spain did more good than bad, they introduced Christianity, the code of law, the oldest Universities in Asia, etc, etc, etc.

  • VIVA EL LATINA HUMANOS IN EL MONDO!!!!!!PROUD TO BE LATINO FILIPINO,we are not ASIANS

  • some of pilipino's know how to speak spanish^^

  • every filipino has mixed blood when spaniard come to the philippines, they were married to the spaniard or being rape, or maybe the seduce the spaniards:)

  • Early Spaniards who came in the Philippines were rude to the max. They didn't even treat Filipinos like human beings.

  • @aiel410 If anything you got that from the corrupted Filipino history textbooks written by Americans. Read real Filipino history, they are in dusty storage rooms written in Spanish, most have never been published/translated.

The Spaniards actually made bloodties with the native Maharlikas/tribal chiefs to divide the land. These Maharlikas turned into the Principalias/Illustrado class, like Jose Rizal. The bloodties were through marriage. Queen Isabella issued a decree to protect the natives.

  • @Aruchinjiru That's the real story. Don't believe what the yankees told to you.

  • @Aruchinjiru where did you read about this? please tell me. I am a filipino you can trust me :) PM me plz

A grave error! English took over and Spanish went downhill to extinction despues de trescientos anos de colonialismo.

  • @buscapleitosNo1

    Mentira,

    Lies,

Universal education was made free for ALL Filipino subjects in 1863. This measure was at the vanguard of contemporary Asian countries.

The University of San Carlos is the oldest school in in Asia, founded in 1595

  • @rafaminu I have to disagree with you. First of all, the Spaniards did not try to spread the use of the Spanish language, and were little interested in making the children of the poor learn Spanish, only the offspring of the peninsulares and well off mestizos could have an education; the rest weren't taught the language in order to keep them in subjection.

The few public schools that taught Spanish were run by friars. Secular or non religious themes or subjects were very rarely taught.

  • @buscapleitosNo1

The facts are that universal education was made free for ALL Filipino subjects in 1863, poor and rich, a measure that was at the vanguard of contemporary Asian countries.

Manuel L.Quezon, the first Filipino president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines under U.S. colonial rule, acknowledged that fact on his speech in the US, on October 14, 1914.

He also noted that the schools were NOT run by friars, but were "created, funded and maintained by the Spanish government".

  • what song is this?

  • @ Amatherasu1789

    Sabino Arana decia que;

  • wow very powerful!!!

  • rizal is a spanish last name i have a friend and big family too with that last name

  • uhm yeah jose rizal did not have any spanish ancestors. his ancestors were chinese.

  • @explorersl José Rizal also has Chinese and Japanese blood

  • @RafaelMinuesa im very proud of my spanish ancestry

  • @RafaelMinuesa shut up!! lol u are stupid rafa go to hell hahaha rafa is nuts dont listen to him he was in a big war hes brain is not the same hes actually gay now lol haha

  • @RafaelMinuesa only 3% of the philippines is spanish ancestry.

  • @lui920

That 3% comes from a Stanford "study" that everyone likes to cite, but no one has really read.

I have, and on the second page it tells you that they genotyped 28 individuals from the Philippines.

    28 out of 90 million.

And from that "conclusive" result Filipino children are being taught at school that Filipinos are over 97% Malay, when in fact, anyone who has been to Malaysia can tell the difference right away

  • @RafaelMinuesa Cultural brainwashing to force a way of thinking. I feel sorry for the death of Spanish culture in Philippines. I am English but love the Spanish culture. I believe there is something divine and civilized within it that transcends race or even nation. I would give my right arm to be Spanish-Philippine.

  • @SantaRoma

Spanish culture in the Philippines is far from dead. It's even more alive that in Spain itself, where alcohol, drugs and moronic ways of life that try to be modern but end up being just obsolete and antiquated, have created a population of crazed soul-less degenerated zombies. Spain is not a country any more, it is a thematic park for the tourists, and the Spaniards are unpaid actors, more like sad clowns.

  • @RafaelMinuesa That is true enough certainly. Spanish culture is more a way of thought than it relates to any nation or people. I do find it sad that, across the world, people are taught to feel shame about their heritage. It is good to hear the culture is 'far from dead' in the Philippines. I heard Ferdinand Magellan is not a well respected character in the Philippines, is this true?

  • @SantaRoma

Agreed that it's more of a way of living or thinking that a race or a nation.

That is why is well alive in the Philippines and almost dead in Spain.

Funny thing is that Filipinos don't know that, because they have been fed huge loads of anti-Spanish propaganda by the US military occupation forces.

For example, most people here ignores that Magellan's real name was Magallanes, that he was Portuguese and that he introduced Christianity for the first time in this part of the world.

  • @RafaelMinuesa An interesting point. It is odd how Christian nations or Christians often have no thanks for those who brought it to them. In Mexico, Cortez is looked upon through harsh eyes, with no thanks for the Christianity or Spanish culture, which they are proud of, which he brought. Instead he is often viewed as destroying an idyllic peaceful people (far from the truth, and no mention of things like child sacrifice is ever made) so hated, despite bringing much of what is good in Mexico

  • @SantaRoma

1 out 5 Mexica children were being sacrificed every year before Cortez arrived there. And they were sacrificed in the most horrible of ways, taking their hearts out and burning them while still alive. One could argue that those were their traditions and we should respect them. Whatever an adult wants to do with their own lives is their own problem, but when it comes to children, no one has the right to brutally kill them. I'm sure their priests didn't kill their own children.

  • @RafaelMinuesa Agreed. Although no nation is perfect, the introduction of civilisation & Christian values should always be appreciated. With time like all things, I am sure the Spanish in the Philippines could of developed into something great. In a short time they already had done much. Perhaps U.S intervention & rebellions have hindered this, & rights &freedoms would be by now, well established (Although that is not meant to be a comment on the Philippines today which I admittedly know little)

  • @SantaRoma

In 1900, the year after Spain left, the Philippines ranked #24 ($1,033.00), the 2nd richest place in all Asia, second only to Japan that ranked #23 ($1,135.00).

In 1950, just 4 years after the U.S., it remained 2nd, but its GDP had dropped to #36.

    Today is #96.

Those are indisputable historical facts backed up among others by the United Nations and the OECD.

The Philippines had its best moment ever? with Spain, and it's been all the way down since then, thanks to the US.

  • @RafaelMinuesa Is Philippines still considered Christian and if so in what numbers? What are the relations like with surrounding nations? I just wonder because some Indonesian nations are unstable or under threat from extremists, does this effect the Philippines? I heard it had a high crime rate? (Although my capital is London so am certainly not judging!)

  • @SantaRoma

The Philippines are Christian in over 90%, and if it wasn't for Spain today they would be Muslim, as they were being invaded from the South and got as far as the Bisayas, before Spain arrived and pushed the Muslims back south. Funny thing is that just about everyone in the Philippines is proud of being Christian (more so than in Spain itself) but very few acknowledge the fact that Spain brought Christianity.

  • @RafaelMinuesa the tally is right 10% is Islam concentrated in Mindanao. And it is the evidence for all of us that Islam is the religion of the people before. Thats why their is a resistant between Spain-Moro. You cannot denied the truth if your truthful to yourself. Moro is a Monarch under the rulling of Sultan... Maybe you inherit muslim blood before you exist.

  • @SantaRoma hey bro, how about those Native Indians in the United States, u think they are happy because they live in a preservation camp? lol, i really dont like Spain, portugal, or any other imperialistic nation. i love what my country stood for when he was prosperous and untouched by white men.

  • @RafaelMinuesa fuck Spain. they did not give a shit about the countries they colonized. it was all about the 3G's God, Gold, and Glory. Look @ those countries they fucked up. Mexico, puerto rico, philippines, and the rest of south america, they are all fucked up and piss poor. their god killed millions of indigenous people around the world. u even gave them a fucking lame first names and last names. who the fuck would name their child Jose, or Jesus for christ sake. they even fucking gave

  • @Unamerican666

All those countries were among the richest in the world under Spanish rule, specially the Philippines

"Almost every other country of the Archipelago is, at this day, in point of wealth, power, and civilization, in a worse state than when Europeans connected themselves with them three centuries back. The Philippines alone have improved in civilization, wealth, and populousness."

    - John Crawfurd, British colonial administrator in Malaysia

History of the Indian Archipelago (1820)

  • @Unamerican666 rofl is sounds weird to you gringo naming a kid "Jose or Jesus" but in spanish countries it is very common it's like I said who the fuck will name their kid George W.bush?

  • @thewwmm25 Many people in the US whether White or Black, use names from other languages because they sound cool to them. Jus as people in Spain and Spanish-America (Latin America
