  • Looks more like mma trying to go up against a knife from the way they're moving. Not being rude or mean, just saying.

  • This is not Aikido.

  • @Colinbarton89 You have no experience, so it's not opinion.

  • @Colinbarton89 this is aikido ....you probably saww a whole bunch of demos and thought it would look the same in real life speed......well it doesnt,

  • they are doing some kind of half-arsed redneck wrestling....Does not even resembel Aikido..this should show you that aikido isnt for real situations.

  • @MrDickHurtzer wait a minute! Two guys in comments below decided that akido+wing tsun is supreme combination. So you are wrong, homie.

  • @MrDickHurtzer its tomiki aikido!! itsa mix of judo and akido ...This is wha aikido looks like at competitive speed.

  • This tournament was designed by the Japanese for the Japanese. ShredFace needs some more international education to distinguish West from East.

  • @Cruelty1633 This was 5th International Tournament which was held in Katsuura

  • The western world really took out the Martial in martial arts. Back in the day, you won by taking your opponent out, not by having more points because buddy's Gi came undone by the end of it. Gojuryu all the way.

  • @ShredFace604 Gojuryu is pretty wired. 糸東流 - rocks.

  • oooOOOooo... donkey shit lucky as hell ashi waza at the end. amazing

  • @djresonance Thanks for watching! :)

  • What is he holding?

  • looks like a pushing fight?

  • @sustantivo1espritu

It should looks like judo without gi grabs fight)

  • @0sergey0 It looks like Judo if you take away all of the cool and effective stuff and replaced it with gay stuff.

  • @skrimpshidy It seems you are such a big expert in gay stuff, aren't you?

  • @0sergey0 Only on friday.

  • @skrimpshidy It's your choice, Friday.

  • @0sergey0 If that's the case, You get to be in front.

  • @skrimpshidy Ladies first.

  • @0sergey0 Okay fine. A real man can take it.

  • @skrimpshidy You gays are so fanny.

  • @mauriteinsh Your obviously lying about your experience, because someone with that type of experience would know how nervous people get at competitions and that its not always perfect. You would also show some respect, because it wouldnt matter what martial art you were in you would know to respect any form of martial art and the students, so please show some respect and dont disgrace forms of any form of art or student

  • Morihei Ueshiba said...

"There are no contests in the Art of Peace. A true warrior is invincible because he or she contests with nothing. Defeat means to defeat the mind of contention that we harbor within."

  • @bobycici thats completely right. and tomiki is just a mislead innovation of aikido.

  • @bobycici thats completely right. and tomiki is just a mislead innovation of aikido.

  • fuckin crap is not aikido is not judo is just some shit in the middle both very bad done!!!!

  • @mauriteinsh

All guys who spend thier time for comments like yours, just loosers, bro.

They never accept challenges and just quiting every time.

    Sad but true.

  • @0sergey0 well i been in many karate tournaments so i think can take challenges, im also 2dan of aikikai aikido i been practicing for 12 years as an uchi deshi of japanese sensei and im teching in2 dojos , so i think im not quitting. by the way i practice the proper aikido. and i been watching your videos franck shamrockk????' what the fuck you are very confused about budo and spirit .

  • @mauriteinsh just keep practice, and you will find peace of mind. But don't be afraid to try smth new, it' will enhance your spirit, bro)

  • @mauriteinsh just keep practice, and you will find peace of mind. But don't be afraid to try smth new, it' will enhance your spirit, bro)

  • @mauriteinsh aikido is the greatest bullshit it is for stupids it is uneffective unrealistic ITS A GREAT SCAM

  • the point is to see how your aikido holds up against opponents offering REAL RESISTANCE... not only against cooperative training partners... on the street, your attackers will give you real resistance... maybe your first defense will not work and you might have to flow into something else... so unless you train with some form of resistance during regular training, you won't know how to flow into the next technique when you meet resistance on the street...

  • morihei ueshiba would be turning in his grave if he see the aikido of this times....

  • @Gamerforever1

    I yawn

  • @Gamerforever1

    I yawn

  • @Gamerforever1

You have no idea what you are talking about.... period!!

  • If there was a point to that 'competition', I missed it.

  • @LordGodStronghold

If you missed a point, just try to find it. Again.

  • Oops, sorry for asking! I know the reason now.

Anyway, I love Aikido competitions like these even though it's my first time watching. Sadly, in my country of Singapore, there are no Aikido dojos who hold such competitions. All we have here are theories, practises and drills only. :(

The Tomiki Aikido should open a school here in Singapore. Please do...

  • @aciddeathadder

Hi! I am from Russia and we just a branch of JAA.

You can write e-mail to Prof. Fumiaki Shishida from Waseda University: fuzanaoi@waseda.jp and ask this question. Singapore not far from Japan. ;)

Or you can find some tomiki-aikido dojos from Australia and ask them to run our style in Singapore.

    Good luck!

  • @0sergey0 Thanks a lot! :D

  • @aciddeathadder singapore got fight G, they teaching this on sunday, u can go google and have a look

  • @itachi123100

Japan spirit is like silence in early morning. I liked it very much.

  • Nice gedan on final video ^^

  • Thanks, bro! ^^

  • aikido will is not effective to person who's style is aikido

  • ...Might be not high level players this. However I understand Aikido also needs to have games since many of Aikdo players who trains only Enbu does not look true(so many jump & jump & jump). However as far as can use in Games it should be effective works. Tomiki do Enbu as well but looks more real (depends on player, too). This, what I felt.

  • aikido is a nice sport. but i find it to be a bit naive. in a real fight it is usually de guy that attacks first the one who wins. if you combine aikido with a offensive discipline you would kick some serious ass.

  • Actually that's true... I know you got some marks down, but i agree that making it aggressive would and does make it insane... But that goes against the art and teachings of Ueshiba. We are suppose to be peaceful, but seriously if you're in a real fight throw a distraction attack or directly attack the arm and break it.

  • aikido combined with jeet kun do maybe?;)

  • That was kind of pathetic. Were those white belts or something?

  • i know aikido is a great art cause i wanted to learn it myself but if they cant even defend properly even with their level, (i'm pressuming they atleat have been training for 1 month since their in a competition) against knife attacks from fellow aikido users that do not have knife techniques, then this art would be impractical... especially because i live in a country where our martial art(Kali) is used even by hoodlums in the street.

  • The whole idea of aikido competition is to futher your aikido. Its not about winning or looseing or medels and money. Even if you loose you win because you learn. The more you do it the better your reactions and the beter your aikido gets.

  • I was told to grab something like a bat, sword, stick, anything that resembles a staff or katana if you are really fighting someone that knows how to use a knife (i'd do it anyway, never under-estimate your opponents) Aikido isn't all hand to hand we do know how to wield staffs and katanas :D.

  • Sweet, I bet that's really practical. I totally carry a Katana or Staff with me at all times.

  • Yeah i'm sure picking up any random object won't help you against a knife... Notice the key word something in the previous comment. Sticks, chairs, silver ware... In other words anything that will help you against a knife. Shoot even a jacket is useful as long as you know how to apply it from what you were taught. -_-

  • what if you cant find any of those items and you have to defend yourself, do you think its efficient enough to get you out of trouble

  • Really you guys can't look around and see that we live in an urban world where there are plenty of things to grab and use? Shoot even if you are in the desert you still got sand to throw in someones eyes. Obviously none of you are self defense instructors. This isn't an arena it's the world and the world has objects in it.

  • looks a bit like judo

  • aikido is similar, just peaceful. u arent supposed to harm ur opponent in aikido. just stop the fight.

  • I dont get it. How do yall score?

  • i think when the enemy is on the ground.. and the enemy tap.. iwant to learn aikido.. as self defense.

because its too many bad people.

  • I would like to see an aikodoka in a real street fighiting situation..or in an UFC tournament. I just only see if they can fight.

  • why dont you just step to one and see if they can fight,.

  • The people of aikido make only one thing wrong. They sell himself in their demostrations with "real effective" techniques , but I practiced taekwondo and nobody attacks as you demostrate in yours demos.

  • Me too. I think that our teachers cut out those kinda attacks. Because I always wondered about that. I know we throw str8 punches and my teacher Ki Whang Kim had train at the Yoshinkan back in the day.

  • I understand. Well, one good thing I can say about aikidokas is that they are pacific people, and that's enough for me. I respect them.

  • Well, look up Judo vs Kickboxing, seeing as how Judo is a lot similar to Aikido it may influence your opinion. Anyhow, it's a MMA fight and the Judo guy wins.

  • im curently training taekwondo.. but i want to learn aikido.. i want them both..

  • Chamanista, look up "Aikido in mma". It should be the first result right now (that is the exact title). I think it can be very useful, but would be better integrated in support of your other styles rather than your focus. For one, small join manipulation is out of the question in most competitions like that, and for good reason. The other techniques are fair game, though, just be sure to watch out for the grappling and know what to do when grappled. Judo seems more appropriate for MMA and UFC.

  • Ok, I will check it. Thanks!

  • Or you could just accept that aikido founder ueshiba is regarded as one of historys greatest martial artists for good reason and that he proved his abilitys in real situations time and again and draw the obviouse conclusion that aikido is effective and does work.

  • this is nice!... never seen a tomiki aikido compitetion up close... but its nice... I love aikido... but the only problem is its hard to use on real fight with multiple attacker like street fight... i dont know what techniques to use after the other.... heheh....

  • Aikido competition is appalling and bears no resemblance to what goes on in a dojo,,its like wrestling standing up

  • it looks foriegn to you because this is what real aikido looks like against a resisting opponent

  • when two people are in an aikido competition, tori and uke,,,,uke knows what to expect from tori,,I practice Tomiki Aikido. When a technique is applied outside the dojo on a "genuine attacker" you get a more genuine reaction. Due to my occupation I know this to be true. Tomiki Aikido competition looks appalling because uke's knowledge of what technique might happen

  • what do you mean? which is tori, and which is uke?

  • that is my point, you cant tell,

its not a REAL situation,,both people in Tomiki Aikido competition know whats coming,,that'what makes tomiki aikido competiion so ugly,,its not a real a situation,,,tomiki aikido works in a real life situation, as I have said, due to my job I know this to be true, I LOVE Tomiki Aikido

  • your post are very confusing and aloof.. you introduced terms and words that no one outside your circle understands without defining them like uke and tori, and you claim authority based on your job which you wont name... your post add very little value.

  • uke is the guy with the knife(the receiver of the technique),

  • tori is the executer of the technique

  • from your first comment about what real aikido looks like you obviously have some knowledge of aikido, then you already know what uke and tori mean, my comment was not aloof or confusing,,i was replying to somebody who has a knowledge of what aikido looks like,

  • Thanks! Cool

  • What are the sticks for?

  • This "sticks" calls "tanto" that means traditional japanese knife. All this actions is defence against knife attack.

  • @0sergey0 Except that some of the Randori techniques deemed safe for competition, I personally would i realy advise you don't do against someone with a real knife to be honest, a bit too dangerous, gedan ate beign a classic one, or at least not in the normal Rnaodri sense as you have noway of stoppign them slicing your back open as they fall. We see It more as a scoring batton in competitions than anything else in our clubs tbh.
