  • @whatiftheyareright Just about when hurricane season is over around October. Growing season in south Florida is opposite from the rest of the country. We grow all throughout winter...too hot in the summer.

  • cheesy hill billy music

  • how did those tomatoes turn out?

  • They turn out great every season except this year. It was so cold down here in south Florida that nothing turned out right.

  • I love those upside down tomatoes I am going to try it. thanks.

  • cool garden! who's playen the music?

  • I'm not really sure. I grabbed it off the you tube library. The name of the artist used to pop up at the bottom of the screen but now I noticed it doesn't do it anymore. Go figure. Thanks for stoppin' by and feel free to rate my videos and subscribe.

  • ok, but does the lid go on top, or bottom?

    your vid does not show

  • On the top.

  • Hi, nice vids. At 1:42 is that some sort of chilli plant?

  • Yeah, I got jalapenos, habaneros, poblanos and stuff like that.

  • I got the bag, what is the lid for?

  • It's just basically to hold in moisture so you don't have to water as much. There's a few holes drilled in'em.

  • OMG how often did you have to water the pots? The topsy turvy I bought had to be watered at least twice a day.

  • I water every morning unless it rains.

  • I tried the topsy turvy. didn't work

  • Sorry about that but don't give up...try, try again.

  • Next year I will try again using Banana peppers. They didn't do so well in pots, so maybe upside down they will have a better chance. Too many stray cats in my neighborhood !! They like to pee pee in the garden and especially in pots. Even when I load them with wooden dowels.

  • beautiful plants. absolutely gets an A for neatness.

  • Thanx!

  • Your garden is lovely! And I personally enjoyed the "hillbilly" music (a.k.a. bluegrass-- for those of us who appreciate such things). Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Thanx! Check out my other videos if you would like.

  • so how did it work?

  • verrry nice...and I love the music!

  • lambikins is an asshole

  • Love it. My response to the video was probably just the opposite of lambikins, I wouldn't have kept watching the

garden if it hadn't been for the beautiful Bluegrass. Thanks. I thought I saw the title Rope-a-Dope? Is that right? by who? Great music.

  • A picture's worth a thousand words. I never knew what everbody meant by "plastic bag" until I saw this. These are recyle grocery bags?

By the way, I like that clawhammer and dobro. Though a little narration or informative titles might be helpful too.

  • Three minutes and 19 seconds to get to the hanging tomatoes???! I had to FF to get to them. Rather than the hillbilly music, a commentary of what you are growing, planting dates, varieties would have been more helpful.

  • Excellent idea. I can't wait to try this one.

  • I would think that the air goes through the bag and dries the dirt out quickly. Do you find this to be true with your set up?

  • Not really. I just water accordingly.

  • Why do we need the lids? I mean couldn't we double use the soil to plant like marigolds which are a fantastic companion plant?

  • I figured the lids would hold moisture in and keep weeds out but I'm not gonna use them next season. I'll probably inter crop with herbs instead.

  • i did something similar, but instead of using a bag, i sewed my own bag from dog/cat food bags. its waterproof so it wont rot as bad.

  • Hey Bullseye5477, where do the Lid's go,on top of the soil?Up The Irons!

  • Yeah, on top. Drill some holes in'em so the water can drain through.

  • Mosquito screen them also . Don't want the flying bloodsuckers.

  • if they make those bags somewhere out of tarp material, that would probably work.... maybe think camp bag or something?

  • Hey everybody. I'm gonna try to post a video today or tomorrow because one of my homemade tomato plant hangers came crashing down yesterday as I was watering it. It seems that the material has begun to rot much to my surprise.

  • What about using trash bags or (very well reinforced) plastic shopping bags?

  • That what all those bags are good for...thanks for the video! If I didn't think my money would be going to one of those multi-billion dollar green corps I'd probably buy one and do it myself.

    Excellante!

  • Did the bags work? Would you use them again or a different method?

  • So far it's working excellent. I'll post another video of the garden and hanging tomatoes in about another month.

  • very cool idea with the bags
