Candle Chat: Fall/Winter/Holiday 2011 Newbies

i love the sleep aromatherapy: vanilla cinnamon i tried it in the wallflower but it's quite strong, i wish I could get that candle in my local store :( i have it in lotion though until next holiday.

you should try scentsy those are alot safter then yankee candles becuase you dont have the harmful residue going thoughout your house. they are lit by a light bulb and there are soooo many different scents that you can choose from.

if you really love candles you should try candles by victoria cause hers are awesome! You cant get certain sents that she makes at yankee or bbw.

you should try the better homes 22oz candle they are the same as yankee in classic frosted gingerbread! They are at wal mart for 4.97 AMAZING!

I know you've said that you don't want to order from Candles by Victoria because you can't smell anything in person before purchasing, but you can get a 2 oz scent shot for $2. It's really worth checking out - her candles are fantastic and the customer service is wonderful!

you have to try the woodwick candles. ...bed, bath and beyond, dillards, and ulta sell them.

Have you ever tried Diamond Candles? I have heard really great things about them and you get a diamond ring inside of every candle! Just thought you might be interested in them!

I love candles but I've been finding myself buying a lot of Scentsy products lately. My kitty likes to climb on our tables and her tail is so furry I'm afraid she'd stick it in the flame. The Scentsy is a lot safer for her so that's what I've been sticking with but I do miss YC and their incredible scents.

You need to try the Better Homes and Garden candles from Wal-Mart. I did for the first time ever this fall and I was AMAZED by the scent throw. I purchased the Country Kettle Corn candle. After about 30 minutes, my whole house smelled so delicious. I didn't think they would work. When you first smell them in the store, all you smell is wax. But BOY OH BOY do they work. And they are only $5. Try them!!! or at least one!!

I have seen, but never tried any Yankee candles... I know they smell amazing in the jars!! Will have to look for the BBW vanilla cinnamon... Yumm!!!

I'm so jealous of the gorgeous super cheap candles you get in the US. The only comparable candles we have are by brands like jo malone, etc. We have drugsore candles but they're tiny and awful. UK sucks :( x

@misssjw I was just in Clinton Cards today and they have a very large selection of Yankee Candles. Quite a few were on offer as well.

@misssjw You can get Yankee Candles in the UK. Aso Amazon UK sell Flame Homeware candles and I have one by them (a vanilla based scent) in a tin and it has lasted me so long and throws out such a scent, but only cost £5. You can find good scented candle selections in garden centres for some weird reason; that's where I tend to get my Yankee ones or you can get them from QVC online.

@misssjw You're welcome. P.S. QVC have quite a lot on special offer at the moment, but also check out Yankee Direct UK (google it) as I was just looking and they have like Medium Yankee jars for about £10, which is a really good price.

@landipan Lily Flame candles are amazing too! I never use anything else besides Candles By Victoria and Lily Flame.
