  • The fourth is definitely my favourite. Her voice is so pure and beautiful; I could listen to it for hours on end (and I think I have already)!

  • How lovely! Thank you ;)

  • You know she also does taekwondo?! Eric told us that she totally floored him once!

Also, how does she sing so effortlessly when she leaps so flipping high!!?

  • 3 people don't have souls

  • indeed a very emotive cycle of songs, delivered with emotion, in a total humbling, un-pretentious way, it transported me to israel, it made me want to get a tambourine get up and sing! :D :D

BTW, who cares what she looks like, she's beautiful because of the art inside her!

  • I fell in love with the choral arrangement of this piece when I was in High School. It was one of those pieces that pushed me to pursue music in college. Now, preparing for my senior voice recital, I stumbled upon the music for the soprano solo version of the piece. I can't think of a better way to end my senior recital. Beautiful video.

  • Millions of people in this world, but only a few are blessed with such a beautiful voice.

  • This is incredible! I'm so inspired.

  • hila is beautiful.

  • I'm doing the II and IV movements for my jury this year, but I wish I was doing all of them. The V is my favourite.

  • Beautiful! I love her energy and presence.Beautiful voices. Love the accompaniment too! Awesome stuff. Bravi!

  • I think it's her passion and earnestness for what she does makes her gorgeous.

  • Oh my actual God this is beautiful. My favourite of the Five Hebrew Love Songs is Eyze Shelag, and she sings it so beautifully. What makes it even more romantic is that she wrote the poetry and he put the words to it - he must really love her! I don't know about anyone else but I need such reassurances that love actually exists...

  • I love 3:50 its so cheery

  • she sounds very childish, and the song is faster than i like to hear it. but it sounds very beautiful and im in love with this song. you know she actually wrote the words and Eric put them to music. 3:20 and on is one of my favorite parts. i love her expressions!! and her energy!! my absolute favorite part is about 7:30 on. they are both very musically inclined. we are doing this in my choir class, and i have o say it is definitely the most fun i have in the choir. this song is very moving. :)

  • she is!!

  • so beautiful

  • gorgeous on all counts...a marriage of music, beauty, love, history...congratulations! xo heidi

  • yeah, the more you watch her sing, the more and more gorgeous she becomes.

  • omg, opera is the hardest thing to sing. i took 2 years of private opera instructions, and i STILL can't sing it like her. kudos pretty lady :)

  • She's so incredibly animated when she sings!!!! you can tell these songs are deeply personal for her.

  • I'm completely in love with this song. I performed it in an SSAA choir last spring, and I'm hoping to perform it in my jury at the faculty of music this coming spring. Does anyone know if the tambourine is written into the solo score, or is that improvised?

  • @slmacd1 It's in the score :)

  • now thats love for whay she does

  • this is legit

  • one of the dislikes was me. it was a mistake. i literally did miss the like button. i LOVE this!

  • your amazing this was a great song choice also

  • @1musicizLove Well It was a great song choice because she wrote it.

  • Eyze sheleg has never sounded so beautiful!

  • What's with the yellow hair? I bet her real hair is lovely!

  • brought me to tears again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • when i first saw her, i didn't think she was attractive, but i'm liking her face more and more now =) she's one of those rare women who become more attractive as time passes... reverse usually happens for women xD

  • @cutefidgety Like Sarah Jessica, or Kirsten Dunst

  • Comment removed

  • @cutefidgety Do you really believe that most women become less attractive over time? How do you define "beauty?"

  • @cutefidgety I think the sincerity and purity in her voice is what makes her attractive.

  • @cutefidgety

seriously? what is your issue judging people that way? disgusting.

  • @modern4bebo hi bebo, the comment based on my impression in the first few seconds of seeing her. my first impressions are often wrong but in her case i was so happy to be proven wrong that i couldn't help writing about it in a comment! =)

i'm sorry if i offended you but i very much admire hila plitmann and meant my comment as a compliment. did you know that she wrote all the lyrics for these 'five hebrew love songs'? she's a truly admirable woman with very well-rounded talents.

  • @cutefidgety like fine wine :)

  • Dang she REALLY gets into it at 3:53 - 4:14 !!! And yea I totally agree with you guys, Hila is absolutely the luckiest woman alive :p She has a gorgeous look, a gorgeous voice, and a gorgeous husband that writes gorgeous music. :/ Lol!

  • aweee i love five hebrew love songs.

i was with the womens chorale my freshman year at clu.. we did this..

    :)

  • She's really good.

but I honestly like the full SATB arrengement for this song.

    Great performance though.

  • I.love.this.song.end.of.story. This is so beautiful. My favorite movement is the second but I love them all.

  • some people have all the luck

pretty and an unbelieveably gorgeous voice

and married to a musical genius

    whos a total hottie

  • seriously

    i would bang eric whitacre

    SIDEWAYS

  • o my fuck, hells ya

    hes fucking gorgeous

  • He is an attractive man

  • I had the awesome pleasure of performing 5 Hebrew Love Songs with Hila, Eric, and small choir. SHE IS SO AMAZING. Hila's musicianship is effortlessly beautiful and her good spirit is infectious. She'll either make you teary, make you smile, or give you goosebumps.

  • 4th movement is the most beautiful thing i've ever heard. the ease and grace she sings those high notes with are remarkable.

  • I love these songs so much. "Larov" is my favorite, because of the text.

I want to sing these so badly, but unfortunately I am a mezzo-soprano and they are just too high. :(

  • Also failed to mention that this particular performance is beautiful. What a beautiful voice, and her passion and dedication to these pieces shows in this performance.

  • Honey, you can do it. The highest note is an "A", and you should most DEFINITELY have that easy!! I'm a mezzo, too, and this is actually a nice placement for the middle range. Lots of nice resonance, etc. DO IT, GIRL!! It's AWESOME!!

  • Uh... I have an A "easily" when I am warming up and vocalizing, but most definitely NOT easily enough to be excited about singing the A on my senior recital.

  • Nothing to it but to do it.

  • hmm actually I believe she hits the C (and B) above that in the third and fourth movements which isn't super high - but pretty high.

She has a ridiculous voice though - I had the pleasure of hearing her live a few years ago (with Del Tredici) when I was at Pitt and she's one of the most impressive sopranos I've /ever/ heard live.

  • @mecsings

don't let that stop you! you can transpose it down a little!! :]

  • ugh the fourth movement is just so beautiful i cant even stand it!

  • There aren't more comments, because there is nothing to say...Ms. Plitmann sings in such a beautiful effortless manner, the accompaniment is so wonderful, and the composition is so perfect, what can anyone say that would do it justice?

  • Beautiful

  • She is Bad A! Singing with such placement and such a clean tone and playing that tambourine without missing a beat! She's my hero!

  • What joy! Hila's beauty in voice and smile, and Five Hebrew Love Songs have healing powers that penetrate even a sad heart. Thank you from Rachel in Sydney
