is the quad part 2 hits on the second and first drums and 3 hits on the third and fourth drums, while going back and forth? And it starts on the fourth drum, but only 2 hits on it the first time?
it takes more control to play these exercises at slower tempos. its a work out in technique. anybody can drop the diddles in at 170 but can you evenly place the diddles at 140. its hard not to crush them.
come on outside snare to the left, does anyone else hear the fuzz at 0:40 (end of the long roll)

this is an actual quote from Scott Johnson (Blue Smoke DVD: 09)
"This year might have been the best tenor line I've ever had"
Don't believe me, buy the DVD.

Just bought the Blu-ray edition a couple days ago, I'm really looking forward to it. Heard there were some lag issues at some parts though haha
Snebasseor 2 years ago
ehh. the only lag issues were at the beginning. but it was intentional. you'll see
cwk1417 2 years ago
haha listen to the semi-finals judge tapes, if you have access. there's a quad roll in the closer that's the cleanist roll i've heard in my life
sheepofsatan69 2 years ago
@cwk1417 I still like 06 tenor line though.

my instructor actually wrote our basses a split to go along with this that actually sounds tight

it isn't all about how fast the tempo is dude....if you play drums you should know that

@edrianna5banks i bet my drum tech who happens to be the snare tech for BD has taught me enough patience and focus to be able to do it.
