I was thinking about doing a mix similar to this. Using the melody as you did in the background, however this track needs 16 beat intro without the melody. maybe allow the original song to play through a bit and then slowly fade in the melody. Allow another 16 beat count on the chorus and bring the melody slowly back in. Maybe even throw a pan from left to right. But these ideas would work a lot better if you had the separate track masters to mix it right. Oh well, good idea overall. :)
