Well of course we're all entitled to our own opinions and of course the world would be a boring place if we all liked things exactly the same, so... I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this! :-)

I (and many others!) love his style, and you don't.

Having said that... have you actually been in the audience... recently.. when he is playing?

I have... twice... and both times he was performing in HUGE concert halls, which were packed, and both times the audiences were completely engrossed in every note he played.

There was absolutely nothing "hysterical" or "show biz" about his performances.

They were actually very deep, meaningful and very moving.

I have never experienced such a large number of people sitting SO still and quiet as during the beautifully controlled whispers of his ultra soft passages.

His range of dynamics was stunning actually, & his whole performances were very inspiring.

(I'm a pianist & piano teacher by the way, not just a fan!)

Both audiences gave him huge standing ovations, & wouldn't let him leave!

So.... his style, personality, interpretation etc IS (VERY!) appealing for his audiences actually!! :-)

I saw him play this last week and I can assure you he hasn't lost his mind!!

It's called "feeling the music"!!

It's nothing to do with "feeling the music", it's just the worst kind of "show business". It's just thinking that a hysterical attitude on stage can make an interpretation more interesting.

And I find personally this interpretation perfectly in line with his ridiculous behaviour...It's just putting together illogical patterns, believing that the result will be appealing for the audience...
