I have both of them, they are both great games. They both have great tracks, but MKW has smoother graphics. They also didn't perfect drifting until Mario Kart Wii.

Double Dash has better courses and better gameplay. No going from 1st to 8th because of a blue shell, lightning bolt, and red shells hitting you on the third lap. Plus, bikes just dominate karts in Wii, where in DD there's more equality. Only actual advantage Wii has over DD is wifi, but the online is also plagued with hackers, so that makes it less enjoyable.
Want to play one with 2 players on one kart? Simple. Mario Kart Double Dash. Want to play one with online and one person on a kart? Again simple. Mario Kart Wii. But I think Mario Kart Wii has more unlockable features and more tracks but they're both good
Double Dash vs mode has the most uneven items ever. if you are playing 2 player vs. The second player can either get shitty shells and red boxes or they can get specials and stars so if the lead is always changing the items are not fairly given.

I like Mario Kart Wii because of the online feature along with great characters and vehicles. I like Double Dash because it features two characters on a single kart, and yes, the challenges.

Everybody is bashing MKW because it's to recent to have nostalgia on its side. If you want to talk about graphics, than I would have to say MKW, just because the lighting and colors are less bold. Personally, I also think the drift mechanic is better. With all that said I would give MKW 9/10, and MKDD 8/10. Remember though, all of this is just IMO.
They need to make a new nintendo council to compete with xbox 360 and the ps3 then make a mixture of Mario kart wii and double dash and put them together with better graphic and it would be a hit we only get one Mario kart per nintendo gaming system and they could make it right this time the online would be soo much fun
Why the hate betwen DD lovers and MKW lovers? Same with Melee and Brawl. All 4 are great games. Graphics in this case are debatable. MKW seems a bit softer. DD (along with much of the GC library) seem very plastic looking to me. MKW didn't go the route of Galaxy (clearly better looking than Sunshine) but maybe there is a reason for it. Online? I don't know.
if i didn't know what order these systems came in i would honestly, as much as i do love the wii, think that double dash was first. it just... looks a little better for some reason.
i played Mario kart wii for a while and i didn't like this, the drift in DD is much better made than in wii. In wii there is just chaos, not even real driving. But after a while you can play DD only with friends. But yeah it's right 16 levels are not enough. DD is winer in my opinion :D

Mario Kart DD is the underated gem of the Mario kart series. It has more effects and better graphics than the wii verison, better gameplay and split screen multiplayer.
What lets DD down is it's lack of tracks and online.
Mario Kart Wii seems to have wider roads, more mist and lightning effects, and blurrier texture. Personally, I'm going to say I like Mario Kart Wii more for the VERY SOLE PURPOSE of the fact it has an online and I really hate Mario Kart DS' online. In every single other way, I prefer Mario Kart Double Dash. If that game would have online, or even just a Battle Mode AI to begin with, I wouldn't even consider Mario Kart Wii.
But it's lack of bots and online kind of kill MKDD's replay value...

I think doubledash is better. the wii version has some really ignoring powerups. but if your alone, the wii version is better, so you can play online. mario kart doubledash is best to play with 3 friends. I hate it to play against a computer.

I must admit, and I can't understand why and how, that MKDD has way better graphics. The blurry effect on MKWii seems bad compared to DD !
I'm gonna check this on my Wii.

@Niavy64 yes!!!!!1 i hate that blury look on mkw! mkdd is waayyyyy better! i refer to it as "why are these tracks so FUZZY????" mkw is fuzzy! it hurts my eyes sometimes! mkdd is str8 forward graphics and wii is blury! brawl does NOT have the blury graphics either!

Mario Kart DD is the underated gem of the Mario kart series. It has more effects and better graphics than the wii verison, better gameplay and split screen multiplayer.
What lets DD down is it's lack of tracks and online.
Mario Kart Wii is a muddled mess.

Mario Kart Wii seems to have wider roads, more mist and lightning effects, and blurrier texture. Personally, I'm going to say I like Mario Kart Wii more for the VERY SOLE PURPOSE of the fact it has an online and I really hate Mario Kart DS' online. In every single other way, I prefer Mario Kart Double Dash. If that game would have online, or even just a Battle Mode AI to begin with, I wouldn't even consider Mario Kart Wii.
But it's lack of bots and online kind of kill MKDD's replay value...

@G5N2Elite I shocked that you are watching video and you don't know what mario kart double dash is. It's a mario kart game for the nintendo gamecube. Instead of one racer in a car, you get two people in a car. The drifting in mario double dash is alot eaiser than mario kart wii. In my opinion, its the best mario kart in the series

both of them are tight but the last game was gonna be mario kart wii super paper mario (until i figured out it was only 32 levels) or mario party 8 i picked mario party 8 and it's definltey the greatest game ever!

mario kart wii is much better:1. 32 tracks (16 great designed new tracks) 2. nice stunts 3.more characters+motorcycles B U T (!!!!!!!!) playing mario kart double dash is not worse than mario kart wii: nice double karts, very nice items and i like that the second character is holding the item in his hand

I'd say MKDD. You have city courses and Bob-Omb Cars. It is more fun. You also have two characters and specials. Being hit by items is less likely. MKDD Rocks!!!
