You guys are worried about a hand full of Mormons trying to take over the government... HAHAHAHA!!!!!! What about the dual citizenship of hundreds and thousands of jews in our government?! Zionism? Zionist Occupied Government perhaps? Yeah, lets worry about Mormon conspiracy....
One could say that most Mormons are Republicans, yet again, many are Democrats, Radicals, Liberals, you name it. Also take note that all Mormons are not good Mormons, the same with the way Christains and Catholics are, not all are perfect Christians or Catholics. We all have our faults in life, nevertheless, the Gospel of the LDS church says to store things and conserve what we have, therefore you may find most to be conservatives, and therefore, most would turn out to be Republicans.
I really appreciated your comment. It seems people can all to often have selective memory and not view things with a full perspective. This is so true that people have always been and will always be people complete with all their individual quirks, faults and imperfections. Thanks again for your comment!
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are free to vote how they choose this is still America and we are all individuals. We are only told to research for ourselves and vote our conscience.
i'm mormon and I voted democrat this last election. I just think Mormons being Republicans is a stereotype. It's an exagerrated generality. Anything is arguable anyways. If we can't escape our own perception we'll understand nothing.
I don't like stereotypes personally either I think we are free to choose whatever candidate we believe in based upon the issues, and who respresents the people and take care of our country the best way possible.
People need to educate themselves and gain in knowledge truth from all sources, this is exactly what is taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Thanks for your comment!
@drewdanburry But you cannot perceive the imperceivable.. That is to say, once you've escaped your perception doesn't you perception just change to include the new information? I have been thinking alot about this because i really don't want to be stuck anymore.
Same here however it is simply what I have noticed and it is completely up to the individual to have a party or not. Personally I don't particularly claim any party but typically have voted Republican.
"Mormons love Harry Reid," uhh prove that. -I'm a Mormon and I oppose his politics.
"there are...a lot of Mormon Democrats." -Could be but so what? I didn't vote Republican or Democrat. But I'm just one Mormon. We aren't told who to vote for by church leadership.
Micheal Medved handled this phone caller well. In general he's a fair commentator.
As far as the Mormon conspiracy about taking over the government...that's a comlex issue. Not space enough here to address properly.
Well as far as any "conspiracy" I have to agree with Michael Medved it is slanderous and untrue.
If you consider teaching others to love others, have a moral compass and to do unto others as they would do unto you then I concede this would be the only conspiracy that exists.
It is a "conspiracy to do good...conspiracy to try and help people...a conspiracy to try and build nice communities and strong families".
Mormons believe they will "save the Constitution" and ultimately the USA. Church leaders have stated that the US government will collapse (an economic collapse) and that the constitution will hang by a thread. The current trend towards socialism (bail-outs) make this more and more likely. Utah will be the only place where the constitution will be revered and enforced. People will flow to Utah by the millions for defense and work. It will be the only safe place. That's what Mormons believe.
And don't misunderstand; church leaders haven't said they (the millions) will be coming to Utah to become Mormons. They will be searching for safety and work. As our government proceeds down the path towards tyranny and socialism, Mormons will not stand for it. They have been(or are supposed to be) preparing for the end times. They are to store food and other essential items for survival.
The U.S. economic collapse is well underway. If you don't believe it just watch the news and study the past century of progressivism towards socialism. We are in a serious situation and time will run out. Best get prepared now because if ye prepare ye shall not fear.
While I agree with most of your comments that the Constitution will hang by a thread, which it currently is and that we would have an economic collapse, which has now been proven beyond doubt...we are advised to stay where we are and "bloom where we are planted".
I also agree that we all, members and nonmembers need to prepare today with food storage, medical supplies & such as we do and will always need them.
Life is exactly what we make it & yes if we are prepared we shall not fear.
Yes, blooming where we are planted is the direction we've been given. However, there may come a time when survival requires relocation to [Utah]. The current directive may be reversed (at least according to my readings in the History of the Church and the Journal of Discourses). It will be a safety/survival issue for not only the Saints but also for many Gentiles as well. They will also come to Zion for protection. At least that's my understanding.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:22,23.
do good works BECAUSE you are saved. Not to get saved.
Amen and that is true there are many who claim they represent God but do not in fact represent him.
And, again amen to those who claim they can be "saved" Ie: if you claim the definition of saved is to return to our Heavenly Father, then no one can be saved except and only through our Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, Judge, Messiah and the Son of God even Jesus Christ.
I absolutely agree with everything you have said here.
Isn't accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior a "good work?" Your comment reveals that you believe one must DO something in order to qualify for the saving grace of the Lord's atonement.
Mormons also believe there is a process to becoming "saved." They also believe that it is only through the merits and mercy of the Savior that this is possible.
The major difference (one of them) between you and them is that a Mormon accepting the Lord as his/her personal Savior is a life-long process and not a one time deal.
I have to agree it is like saying that a belief in Jesus Christ is not just a once a week on Sunday or just for some a once a year deal going to Christmas or Easter Mass/meetings. It should be a lifestyle and a very practical every day way of looking at and dealing with life.
