  • How can i like this i'm 15 and like games and dubstep?

  • RIP John Wheeler.

  • I love this subject. Thanks for posting these videos : ) The pursuit of knowledge is the grandest adventure.

  • Amazing, really. The things i will never understand really thrill me. Knowing that we arnt the only planet. and in the far future. we could establish civilizations on Different planets? Wow. that is all i have to say.

  • This man and Einstein inspired me to become a physicist. :)

I wish I could be as good as him....

  • @BrandonAngelDragon i think you have a true deep love for it, than you can :)

  • @aPpLeJuIcE37RainLucy Regardless I'm still gonna try my best, I may not come near him, but I hope I can still be a part of the physics world and contribute something to it. :)

  • @spliffidge i once thought that they where better off with their blinders on, but i came to think. if humans are meant to evolve from thinking like animals, i.e. all for self, jealous, angry, assumptive, defensive, offensive to being with a moral high ground, aka honesty, all for each other, trust, and peace, then us with an open mind are no better off or deserving of nirvana than them. even if they do suck. and they do. especially if you believe in an afterlife in irie energy via pineal gland.

  • Everytime I watch videos about this kind of incredible things, I feel somewhat empty inside: I suddendly realize how small we are compared to these huge and extraordinary forces, things that are there from billions of years, or that "have been" there since what we can see from our small planet is just a specter of the past state of those things.

    It's stunning, really.

  • WOW so this fella' actually MET AND SPOKE TO Einstein !!!

    lucky ! :((

  • @cr4yv3n worked with him, challenged his beliefs, and helped inspire hawking.

  • Love powers a black hole. We all have that power within :)o*o

  • lol the guy on the right at 8:30 needs to throw that outfit into a black hole.

  • Often in 20th century science do we hear of predictions made by theories, which are rejected as absurd, even by the theory's author, as a matter of personal taste, rather than due to any evidence against them. And these predictions sometimes turn out to represent real aspects of the Universe. Should we have more confidence in the predictions of our theories? If the evidence is against it, that's one thing. But if we just don't like the prediction, as Einstein didn't like Black Holes?

  • reality will never cease to amaze me. Every scientist that contributes to its understanding should be considered no less than a hero

  • Ok, maybe I don't know everything about the universe, but if blacks holes have immense gravity why don't they collapse on themselves?

  • @Jet3010 : Well,,, its mass does collapse down to a literal point. (No width, length, or depth at all.) It's a point of infinite density, but finite mass, surrounded by a deep gravity well. Don't confuse the point singularity itself with the associated gravitational field, which is not a point.

  • 3:04 OMG SQURRELL

  • @Jamieleag rofl hes doing his/her bit

  • Well JB & Usher on Ellen has 5.7 million views; great example of public interest. But humans are only JUST starting to wake up, consider the vast majority of species that are only motivated by sex/food. Oh well /sigh, at least I was born during this period of enlightenment, and not the former!

  • Up to 31k views :)

  • i agree jaxoff. tv rules this new age of living, everyone wants more american idol, dancing with the stars, and dont want to really see that its time for the human race to start making an effort to see the stars for our own eyes. But becuz it make anyone any profit, no one would fund such a thing, its sad because, what if we can solve all of earths mystery's. We could create more advance tornado warning systems, or acuratly predict earthquakes. but we never will. its sad.

  • I believe Black Holes use gravitation pull and shrink things extremely small.

  • i wonder how about if im in the outer space and my ship was go through black hole and im vanished i dont know what will happen but i want to expirience joke =]

  • @prolngpo ............your a fag

  • @prolngpo you end up in Essex

  • @SADnBHardstyleWynand Going further, smoking pot will make you fully understand 11 dimensions.

  • 2 membranes in the 11th dimension colided bursting out infinite data creating a singularity. There are billions of big bangs hapening every second as we speak. M-Theory. So we have parallel universes.

  • that is still a theory, not even the scientist who came up with that theory believe that that is full proof. I myself prefer that idea over the idea of a super being creating our universe though

  • OK atheists and theists. Stop fighting about if God or god exists or not. The entire idea of God or god is that he is omnipotent. If he did create the world and time it would mean he is outside of space and time thus meaning our logic can neither prove or disprove his existence.

  • The thing about God is, if he does some mericle in discare, people would notice it and become dependent, if he does nothing, people will stop believing. So he does something just right, so that no one will notice at all, thats hes style

  • What i am simply saying is trying to (dis)prove something like an omnipotent being is useless. No one is going to convert anyone especially on youtube. It takes something deeper to gain or lose faith. Example for you is, your not going to lose faith because if this disagreement with someone.

  • how could you have a black hole and a big bang? wouldn't all matter just collapse when it was together for the big bang

  • So you dont know how Big Bang started, dont you? Big Bang started cause of an anomaly. The primeval atom with high density was (positively or negatively) charged. This charge make it to explode. So, the question is, who charged this atom? Who was the guy (or what are the reactions) that added a plus more positive or negative proton or electron(corresponding) ? I dont believe in fantasy, and im sure you dont know anything about science, you just say plain aclaims.

  • I agree with you, I tried explaining a similar idea to my brother, that because (as far as we know currently) there is no scientific explanation for the 'trigger' of the Big Bang, it's reasonable to consider something/someone which doesn't adhere to the known laws of physics is/caused the trigger, which is your "God".

  • However, thats the reason why Big Bang theory is ready collapse from sciences aspect.

  • The biggest argument against a prime cause or as you say the 'guy' is....if the guy created the universe, who created the guy? If you argue that the guy was eternal, someone could argue that so is the universe......keeps or expanding and collapsing and expanding and collapsing.......

  • If a Universe collapses another different one emerges, with different or similar events. So, you arent talking about an eternal Universe, but different ones which follow the sequence of creation/destruction. Maybe you assume that these universes are just parts of a bigger eternal one and that is the theory of Bubble Universe model/chatioc theory .

  • Anyway, as i said months ago, Big Bang theory seems to be a myth of the 21th century cause it leads to paradox due to the "let there be light"..yea this light was created from nothing or as Big Bang theory says light was emerged from the "primordial Small particle of matter which represents(as mathematicians say) a Zero Point" . Zero Point ? Zero Point is Nothing. Can you see the paradox ? Nowadays Physics say that you cant create Something from Nothing..well Big Bang theory says the opposite.

  • On the contrary, physics says you can create something out of nothing, provided, it quickly again becomes nothing unless something interferes. See virtual particles, zero point energy, casemir effect, hawking radiation etc. I bleave humans are fundamentally incapable of imagining creation because of the 'what before' factor....

  • If you know how Big Bang was provoked, you would see why i say Godlike intervenation is needed. However, Big Bang theory, according to new experiments, its one step before collapse.

  • i bellieve that gravity is god.

  • 9:11 Creepy

  • I like how one of Hawking's default responses on his talking machine is "I don't know." I wonder how much millage it actually gets.

  • your last phrase was a very old propaganda from Christ's years.Really sad people still maintain them.

  • k what about my last phrase is wrong? The laws of science are always changing, its not perfect. A great deal of science in fact destroys our planet. Where do think the global warming problem stems from...technology and where do you think technology stems from? science....Pesticides, fossil fuels, the bug sprays, the all contribute to the detruction of our planet. The atom bombs, guns, radiation, acid rains, all stem from science, i could go on...The vast mojority of science is burden.

  • Well, about marriage...if we take it as basis, then homosexuals have no right to get married, which isnt so democratic for a society. It depends also on what you mean with Marriage? The marriage which narrow-minded Priests and Church make up, or what Christ said about that? Remember that Jesus and Church is no way the same think. Also are the Marriage "laws" stable or they change.

  • Quote "A great deal of science destroys our planet"

Science is just a method. Science itself does not destroy the planet. Rather, it is the improper USE of science that can be harmful to us. Notice I said "us" and not "planet" because the planet is not threatened by us. The planet earth has no emotions, it does not care if it has global warming or anything else. "Saving the planet" is a silly idea. What we really threaten is OURSELVES.

You can't blame science for our ignorant usage.

  • Look around and look to every thing that is made by humans... Imagine.. tomorrow would begin a decade without electricity.. and technology.. there would be chaos.. millions of people would have to learn again how to farm.. etc.. no more phone's, pc's, refrigerators, tv etc...

so there you have the positive site to science..

  • Here is an interesting question, that i seemingly can't get an answer for. If the gravitational pull is so strong, how is it possible that black holes are able to spew out radiation/materials. I thought nothing could escape the gravitational pull. Wouldn't everything just pile up into one area, disappear, or would the matter simply explode all over again thus making a chaotic universe? Since a black hole is supposedly in the centre of every galaxy.

  • Its always nice to read fine dialogue.

  • What exactly makes you believe in "god"? Perhaps an even more interesting question is what do you think "god" is? Do you really know what it is you are referring to when you say "god"... Everyone thinks they agree about what that would be... What makes you believe in this "god" thing??? Where is it and how do you know its there???

The burden of proof is on the believer. If you have no proof of "god", your hypothesis is not adequate for belief - not even for yourself...

  • Proof? Try looking at yourself, Religion\God is all around you. where did marriage come from? where did matter come from? how did the first cell come into being? science cannot answer this and neither can you...have you ever considered researching demon possesions? Have you considered the intelligent design theory? There is no solid proof of black holes. Until science can explain the origins of life, you have no right to discriminate against christian beliefs. Science has its own burdens.

  • Marriage is just typical, its not any proof of God's existence.Science cant explain Gods nature, neither wants to.How is possible to search for God when the 96% of the Universe is still unknown -containing dark matter and dark energy- How is possible to have conclusions about Human's nature when we use only the 6%-7% of our mind.Church? Church is the most sick thing nowadays, at least in Greece..

  • Actually I was using marriage as a basis. Marriage is clearly religiously based, and so is society. Without marriage there would be no society.

Science in general neither tries to explain or disprove gods existance. Its the atheist scientists that brain wash people into thinking it does, when in fact a great deal does prove gods existance. Can you name anything in science that dispoves God? There are very little arguments that try to disprove god and you'll find that most are not scientific...

  • I continue saying that science isnt a burden, the way people utilize her is faulty, thus make science burden.Remember..Humans kill not guns. There're no Atheists, just anti-religious.Every one believes in something and makes it god -whatever it is- .ALL the scientists nowadays, i mean ALL serious ones, believe that there possibly was a Godlike "help" in universes creation. To explain, if with CERN we find the Higgs boson, the instant question is, who created this..God? who knows.

  • Quote "Without marriage there would be no society"

Societies have certainly existed without marriage. In fact, marriage is a relatively recent custom in the history of human evolution.

Quote "Can you name anything that disproves God?"

Of course not. NOTHING can be proven NOT to exist. It is impossible to prove that unicorns do not exist either. Yet, that does not make it rational to believe in them. Whether it be god, unicorns, or anything else, the burden of proof is on the believer.

  • you are being too rational for those irrational folk

    they wouldn't understand

  • Corrupted priests with illegal privileges make their usual propaganda. First we have to found the church-tricks in the name of God, then God himself. At least, Christianism is very important for something, it teached Love.

  • Are you kidding, 1SavageDragon1??? Religion and "god" are not the same thing. Religion clearly exists but there is no evidence for god. You ask "where did marriage come from" and the answer is that people made it up. That's why only people get married but lizards and monkeys don't - we invented it. You ask if I've ever considered "intelligent design" and yes I have considered it and it is ridiculous. Intelligent design is a naive proposition. It's silly, I'm sorry.

  • I wasn't trying to say religion and god were the same thing, Religion involves a god. Religion is followed closely by the belief of a God/supremebeing. The truth is nobody knows the origins of marriage, but it is clearly based on religion. Lizards and monkeys aren't intelligent, it's why they don't get married, they have what you may call instinct which lets em know their mating season thus managing their own society. Intelligent design silly? LOL xD!, k man, whatever you say. my limit is up...

  • If Einstein, Wheeler and Oppenheimer were so fucking smart, why didnt they turn their collective intelligence to fashioning beer that infinite?

Or beer which increases your blood-alcohol level exponentially, whilst keeping pace with the metabolism in your liver, so you can drink a beer and never be sober again?

See, they wernt THAT fuckin smart..

  • Haha!

  • At least now it has more then 10k views

  • ang ganda nang kalawakan! Brilliante!

  • way way way older.

  • einstein rejected "infinite collapse" because that's retarded. black holes don't infinitely collapse, retards. things are merely squished into the quantum level until something explodes in a mega major way inside. it has to do with nuclear energy that physicists will discover by 2040.

  • maybe 2030, but i'm not holding my breath because people are obviously quite stupid and don't know that the big bang is the result of the quantum chain reaction produced inside black holes and that the universe is even older than 13 billion years. way older.

  • I saw this theory on swedish tv once

  • These video's are so great! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one wondering why the hell it has this little views. Never heard of this documentary and I'm very grateful for Gravitationalist uploading them :)

  • less than five thousand people care to see this video.. amasing and depressing

  • depressing??? no! it means that we're geniuses in a monkey world! that means we have the power to take over! we are GODS!!

  • Because the lowest common denominator always wins...Unfortunately.

  • its so sad something amazing as this is up for public to watch, and it has 2300 something view where as a random idiot talking random idiotic crap to a webcam, or some pointless redone fergie song has hundreds of thousands of views.

  • @Jaxoff

Even if these morons were watching this, could they possibly comprehend what this video was trying to explain? People these days do not wish to be educated. They all think their special and we are the only life forms and the universe revolves around us. They dont know that a galaxy could crash into ours and kill us all in an instant. I explain things like this to modern people and they all think ive been smoking some good stuff.

  • @Jaxoff

I completely agree with you, however its more sad that (at this point) 2 people have disliked this video. :O Anyway, I look at it this way, even though this should have much more attention, at least (currently) 33000 people have enough interest! I'm glad YouTube exists so that this wonderful information can be shared with everyone. :) I try to be optimistic if I can about humanity (otherwise I'd probably be a massive-depressive. :P )

P.S. I wonder if Stephen Hawking likes Fergie? :P

  • @Jaxoff Thats society today... A celebration of stupidity

  • @Jaxoff This comment is 3 years old and still the video has barely 34K+ views while other videos, like Jaxoff noted, get millions of views in a matter of few days.

A shame for the Homo NOT SO Sapiens.

  • @Jaxoff That just goes to show that there are more dumb people than there are smart people.

  • @Jaxoff not everyone is smart thats why

  • @Jaxoff I feel the same way my friend. unfortunately 70% of the worlds population have low intelligence and dont understand these things.

  • @Jaxoff I know dud, and I'm sad abt it too. Whosoever watches such videos of science are termed nerds as my classmates termed me as a nerd. But I think they r unlucky cuz they cant imagine wat they r missing!
