I have high respect for the Amish People, i think they are so, cool, and interesting people, at least they've got the good life, and also they even arrange marriages, an amish matchmaker would go to an amish house, when an amish girl is of age, to pick out a husband. I feel sorry for those amish people that lost those poor girls, now those poor girls won't be able to grow-up, get married, and rise familes of their own.
Christian forgiveness is one of the hardest tests for believers to learn (myself included). I am absolutely humbled by viewing this video. If we think murderers (people) are "bad" we need to remember that Jesus forgave those who crucified Him and even said "forgive them father for they know not what they do".
This video is the most awesome video yet, because they have so much faith in God and His word, Lord I wish I had what they had, just looking ant the movie and seeing this here on you tube has really touched me and I just want to say Lord I thank you, for giving me the opportunity te see faith for what it really is, THANK YOU LORD JEASUS

this isnt particularly relevant, but in the video discription it says "love thy neighbour, above this there is no greater law" but its actually love your god with all your heart, and love your neighbour. above this there is no greater law" i dont have a bible with me, so i dont know the exact words, but the point is loving God is more important, and as they said in the video that they forgive because god forgives them, not because they love people.
@iamarock09 I kinda believe that we only love other people because Jesus loves us and the love spills over into the relationships we have with other people. I was just referring to the bible verse which was quoted incompletely, which gave it a significantly different meaning. I should have said "...they forgive because God forgave them, not JUST because they love people."
The Amish gave a large sum of the donated money to the widow and family of the man who killed their children. They felt she and her children were victims as well.
@rePenia, they sure are, oh btw did you see that movie, "Amish Grace" on the lifetime movie network yesteday?. I've seen it and it was so unbelievable.
It was absolutley incredible. I must say, I don't cry during movies, but I cried during that one due to the forgiveness and especially during the scene where the Amish attend the killer's funeral.
"Love thy neighbor, above this there is no greater law."
That's your description of this video...however, the greatest law in accordance with Jesus in Matthew 22:37 is to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. The second is like it; you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these 2 commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
I was born Amish and can tell you that Amish men do not have mustaches, the reason mustashes associte with the military. My friend told me this was brought up so I am using his computer to correct you.

do you know what the amish would do it a man among them would grow a mustache?
They would demand he cuts it off,if he refused they would damn him to hell, kick him out he never could come back, lose his family and most likely his farm.
They claim to be Christians but for the most part they are full of the devil, they are extravagant in dress ,proud as peacocks and the most sneaky people you will ever meet.
Most are hypocrites while they believe they are bound for heaven, and you! English to hell
Jesus was a great man with great words but he was not a god nor do I think he thought of himself as a god ( St Paul said he was a god). He was simply a pacifist revolutionary in the 1st century AD. I believe the most accurate adherents to Jesus's word today would be the Quakers and any other Anabaptist's sect. I am sorry if I offended any one. I don't believe in judging any one else differently based on their beliefs. I am simply stating my opinion.
@veryverybadwolf This is exactly true. The Amish, because they live completely cut off from the mass-media influenced world, have the clarity of mind to live their faith and to structure their community lives around the tenets of their faith. Their worship of Christ is the central point from which everything else in their lives is defined. I have the highest respect for them as Christians: they aren't pushy, and they totally walk the talk.
Well...I guess that's your opinion of there being no God...but that's your opinion. You shouldn't post things of such cause (with all due respect) nobody cares!!
I have no sympathy for the Amish. They are crappy builders, theives, and use people. One Amish guy even threw a bottle at my dad when he was mowing our lawn, missing him by inches. He didnt even know it happened because of the mower noise. I told him when he came inside. We told the bishop who lives across from us but he does squat. We have nothing to do with the Amish and that guy was probably was treated bad by the Amish too and wanted revenge.
Just cause on person throws a bottle doesn't mean they are all bad. It's like saying Americans,Mexicans, etc. suck because there are bad people (crimes). Doesn't mean they are all mean and bad people!!
HUMAN DECENCY AT ITS BEST. A true testament to such human decency. I've been there many times. I think I'm still in disbelief. I'm still in shock about Va Tech.
don't be stupid. We go threw life for a reason and when that comes to an end we go beyond that. to say something like that when you are talking about a peaceful group of people whos children were murdered is wronge
Howcome we say that when we die we "go to a better place", yet we cling so hard to life? Shouldn't we commit collective suicide instead, or at least be in a hurry to die?
Okay, now try to put it in a realistic way so that agnostics, like myself, don't analyze the statement, ends up at the conclusion that it's just another I-can-see-my-house-from-here theory and repeating the stated question again sinse the answer given was based on a globaly occuring, massdelusional lie.
there is no lie here if you don't believe you don't and to be honest I don't know what your purpose would be if you don't believe. I am not going to start an argument on youtube because it would be pointless but I have a strong reason why I believe something and I am not delusional. I am sorry you don't believe. See ya.

i'd say its a bit of both, they forgive because christ forgave, and also out of a love for people.

I have Methodist and Baptist roots.
The Westboro so-called Baptist so-called Church is a cult of evil. What is their problem? They are an abomination.
RiaKentucky 2 years ago
Why would the Westboro Baptist Church do that? Any respect I once had for them is now lost.
Do not punish the God fearing Amish for something which governor Rendell said.

Jewish Freemasons probably hired that guy to kill them because the Amish refuse to go with the New World Order and Jewish tyrany.
