On your point about Disney being for kids. Will you dispute the fact that many of the groups on the Disney Channel are also listened to by teens? Probably because the themes discussed in the music, even considering how superficially it is discussed, are not something kids would understand? Hardly. Also there is MUCH better real kids music and even much better pre-teen music. They Might Be Giants, Raffi, Jackson 5, just to name a few. I even loved Wings as a small kid.
They Might Be Giants are still around, but you're absolutely right that those others are from other generations. Still, the reason they're still listened to after all this time is precisely because their music is good. They're still a little immature and disney sets a good example for kids so kids parents let them watch that when they're young and they grow up and some are still into disney at certain ages so they hear the music they that have been listening to since when they were young. Now, i would know bc I'm one of those kids but i have also adapted to other music...like daughtry and skillet and creed.

On your point about Disney being for kids. Will you dispute the fact that many of the groups on the Disney Channel are also listened to by teens? Probably because the themes discussed in the music, even considering how superficially it is discussed, are not something kids would understand? Hardly. Also there is MUCH better real kids music and even much better pre-teen music. They Might Be Giants, Raffi, Jackson 5, just to name a few. I even loved Wings as a small kid.

They Might Be Giants are still around, but you're absolutely right that those others are from other generations. Still, the reason they're still listened to after all this time is precisely because their music is good. It's fine to keep up with modern music, but I wish a multi-national corporation which has had a ubiquitous presence in American kid life for generations to force age-inappropriate (if I'm not mistaken, by your admission) crap down their throats.
