Good job buddy! Im looking for some advice on another kryptonite padlock. It seems uncommon, got it from UK Lockpickers. 40mm, 4 pins, small keyway, covered in plastic (yellow on the body, black on the top and shackle, with a black tether ending on a black cap you can put over the bottom of the body, covering the keyway to make it resistant to weather) and even though I can SPP 5-6 pin locks and spool pins, this one lock is really difficult. All the pins are very stiff and grind and stick!
@Furicist I have a cheap chinese knock off of one of these and have exactly the same problem.. cannot spp it, cannot rake it... it just will not open. And ontop of that the crappy rubber weather boot makes it kinda annoying to shim.
@74KU It may be the case that mine is a cheap chinese knock off too. Do you have any ideas? I cant find any evidence that Kryptonite actually made this padlock, so chances are its a fake. I've SPP'd it 3 times...all complete luck after hours and hours of trying.
Yep, the rubber on the shackle on each end, I know exactly what you mean. Did you remove it to shim?
Before you buy a lock, I suggest you do research on how easy that particular lock is to remove from the people that are testing it for you, either on YouTube or product reviews in magazines or on internet as most companies won't tell you their product can be compromised easily until the media forces them to.
Don't trust lock companies claims on how difficult it should be to get it off, find out what's most difficult to remove for your budget and try removing it yourself before you trust it.
These videos show you what not to buy and their problems as much which products to buy and trust more that buy more time and inconvenience to remove.
It's funny how many people still are on about picking locks with pens. It was 1 style of lock that is now no longer used for new bike locks or anything valuable.
You forget to mention pen tops, cardboard wrapped round pens to make a cardboard tube and every other tube that fits.
That lock design was flawed and not the fault of the people that showed you it was.
i did this on accident when i was 12 i used a bobby pin and a paper clip i got pissed because the paper clip was stuck and i yanked it out and it unlocked
could you do a video on a pool table 1 bc i bought a pool table with 1 of those quater thing and when moved it in the house it sounded like it still had sum change in it . i have the key to take yhe balls out but i was just interested in that thanks. by the way the ball key doesbt work in the change ox
Nice video thanks for posting something in "real time" most people post BS that makes it look like they rake a lock in 2 seconds with one attempt. This is reality and very nicely done. Nice collection by the way
yea I know but it would be nice if they stopped putting up all these vids because my bike cost me eighty bux and I mean I can't afford to have someone go and steal it on me.
no one is going to boost your $80 bike unless you make it super easy. If anyone's going to actually pick a lock it will be for a $800+ bike. even then, it's more likely a snip and take.
Well by having videos like this we can warn other people to not buy there crummy little locks that can be picked with a fucking pen....All that cost into protecting a bike that can be unlocked with a pen...Sure it doesn't help but it doesn't hurt and saves people a lot of money. It's kryptonite that needs to Not sell locks anymore.
"oh yeah, im a bike thief, i just so happen to have lock picks. I practice so that I can get good at stealing bikes" do you realize how stupid that sounds? No I repeat NO bike thief has ever picked a lock, they use bolt cutters and ball point pens, their looking for a quick buck not something that's going to take them a little while to learn. And most of the time people dont even know how to correctly lock a bike. This guy's showing you the vulnerability so it doesnt happen to you. Numbnut

how easy would that be to do. i mean you make it look easy, how much practice would you need to put in before you could get to that level.

WOW You have a huge set of locks. How much $ would you say you put into this hobby?
CptIncaino 3 years ago
I question the ethics of this video.
Great you can pick the lock...are you doing it as a public service to show kryptonite their problems?
Videos like this lead to people getting their bikes ripped off.
If you're a locksmith or an amateur lock picker keep the skills to yourself.

you are so right now I'll never know if my bike or other stuff is safe because theyre selling so many picking sets online and who knows where else!
