@classicblue At first I would agree, but after going back through the games I like all the levels (except Planet Wisp). My favorite levels ended up being both Rooftop Run's, and this is coming from a guy that hated all the sonic games after SA1...... (even that only got appeal because it was "omg sonic is in 3d now woah"). I reckon they should just drop Sonic 4 Ep II and just work on more levels to release for Generations...

I was extremely disappointed by this. They haven't learnt anything from all the games since SA1, that speed is NOT everything, decent straight forward gameplay is much more important. The game is way too difficult, and in the wrong way - it is not something you can practise at and get better, and the insane break neck speed they force you to go just throws you off a cliff no human can react quickly enough to jump the gap. And then they throw you into enemies head first so you cant dodge them.

@leftymu I agree. My personal favorite is SA2: Battle but that's just me... I like generations a lot, but it is too difficult for inexperienced players. I beat the game no problem. They just threw too much stuff into it and not enough straight forward running... But hey, at least this is a step in the right direction from Sonic and the secret rings and the sonic knight games... Dear lord those were terrible.

@KartoRomixo I don't know, it was great to be able to play the classic style again but I don't think they should scrap the modern style in favor of the classic style. But here's what I think they should do for the next game, for one act have modern Sonic play in a 2D side scroller stage include with spindash much like classic Sonic and for the other act modern Sonic plays in a 3D stage include with the boost ability. That way both fans get what they want like in Generations.

I just got this game yesterday and the very first thing I did was turn off Omo chao XD I freaking LOVE this game the only problem I have with this game is that the eras ARE WAY TOO SHORT, I litterally beat the genesis era just a few hours after starting the game. I feel like there should've been at least 10 levels from each era so we could dive into sonic's past.... not splash in it. :( but hey I still love this. OH and make the freaking rival battles harder.

Loving this game. Unleashed (Day Stages) Were awesome, but they were too simple, leaving no trouble blazing through the whole stage without breaking a sweat, Sonic Colors was too platform based, Sure Sonic is about platforming, but they forgot the key element... SPEED. Sonic Generations has a perfect blend of the two, Allowing you to blaze through some parts, feeling the rush and excitement of being the world's fastest being, but also requiring you to be smart, agile, and quick witted.

The only thing I'm worried about is it being released in the same month as Modern Warfare 3. That will definitely affect sales in some fashion. But I sure as hell won't pick up Modern Warfare 3. It's just like the first two games. Infinity Ward isn't even trying anything new, because they are too afraid of losing sales.

At least SEGA has learned some lessons over the years and is trying to pump life back into the Sonic franchise with this game, rather than making more crap like IW.

Zelda is all about puzzles and dungeons.

Mario is all about the sheer enjoyment of playing the game. Mario is Mario.

Sonic.... is about going FAST and having SO many friggn paths you haven't got a clue whether you're on the "right" one.

But you don't care, cause you know you'll get to the end SOMEhow. That's Sonic.

@10samm10 Sonic Colors I must say was a great improvement from Sonic Unleased (I must say, 360/PS3 had much more sophisticated level design for Day stages), but it still had that "I'm on the right path" feel to it; which a Sonic game shouldn't have.

In the original Sonic, "I'm on the right path" was directly translated as "I'm heading right somehow!" Today, it should translate to "Moving ahead on strange path which heads somewhere somehow" and eventually shooting past a familiar point. Hehe~
