  • It's basically Bill Murray and a lot of unknown Canadian actors (outside of Harvey Atkin). This was his first starring role and he had to carry the whole damn film. It's a heck of a performance.

  • If that scene doesn't make you smile, no matter your opinions of...whatever it is that bugs you in life, then..I don't know, cause it's pretty sweet and innocent and just good :)

  • that kid was in My Bodyguard and was very like he is here. Good movie.

  • The movie was filmed in Haliburton Ontario. The camp it was filmed at is called Camp White Pine. Hands down the best camp movie you will ever see. Watch it every June 25, when it's kind of nippy!

  • He called his meal fries not chips. The bus sign said "Anywhere you want to go" and had an American map.

  • Is this a Canadian production? I never knew

  • I like how Tripper connects with Rudy here. It's a sweet scene...

  • @madgab5 Dont be gay

  • @madgab5 Yes, indeed it is. Remember the later scene when Tripper is walking with Rudy in the woods and he tells this funny joke:

Tripper: Did you read in the paper this morning about the Polish terrorist?

    Rudy: No.

Tripper: Oh, it was a tragedy! They sent this guy to blow up a car and the guy burns his mouth on the tailpipe! That's an old one.......we get it a lot up here......WATCH OUT, RATTLESNAKE!

    :-)

  • He was directing, last I knew. Whatever he's doing, I hope he's tamed that f****ing hair of his!

  • Anyone know, what became of Christopher Makepeace? I think that was his name?

  • You going the Vegas? If your going I be up for that cause i love that town, I'm a party guy, I love that town.

  • I WAS Rudy Gurdner!!!!! I mean, I could totall relate to this movie, and I DID meet a camp counselor who was like the Bill Murray Character! This movie was sooo awesome!!

  • A true on comment on individuality. "I just want them to like me". "Why?". Says it all.

  • Brings back memories. (Nostolgia alert!)

  • "I'll get em with this Swiss Army nife. The Swiss traned me to kill..." lollllllllllll

  • "You going to Vegas?"

    0:53

  • Carl Spackler at 1:31.

  • They needed Jason Voorhees to come & kill em all!!

  • You watch too many slasher movies, mate!LOL!

  • I love them movies my friend!! Merry Christmas...

  • Okay,agreed. Merry New Year! :)

  • That kid was so doggone cute!!

  • This is what made this movie in a class all by itself. Not only it had screwball comedy, but touching scenes like this one, Tripper being not only a counselor, but a good friend to Rudy. As a cit and then camp staff personnel, I had my fill of supporting and giving advice to the campers, espeically always a one little outcast who needed a big brother for the entire duration of the camp.

    So true to life!

  • Indeed. I was a summer counselor a few years ago and remember moments like this with the quiet kids.

Funny thing is, I started a trend of short shorts among the counselors/CITs/workers. We looked like we came straight out of Meatballs :P

  • Indeed. It takes a certain kind of person to be a supporter for the "little guys". I did those crazy things with them too (my Camp Director thought i was on something most of the time! Don't worry, it was all natural goofballin'!).

Funny thing too... my camp name was (and still is) "Tripper"! ;)

  • Whoa! Lucky you.

Definitely a great camp name, even if it has been used. Can't go wrong with Tripper.

  • @odiemodie1 I get a tear in my eye everytime I see this scene --- SERIOUSLY !!! I could relate to that character Rudy Gurdner!!!! I knew a camp counselor just like Tripper!!! I LIVED THIS SCENE!! i LOVE MEATBALLS FOR THIS ONE SCENE ALONE!!

  • great movie!
