Zwingli was not a Calvinist theologically. I get sick and tired when Calvinists make up these lies. Neither was Luther. I've debated this enough, trust me. ;) For example, when Luther said "Free Will is a Lie", he was saying something TOTALLY different than what Calvinists wish to fabricate. :P
Boy,A lot of hardcore calvinist commenting here.Sorry but Dave is right on the mark. All you Calvinist are pissed cause he exposes you'r false teaching and cult like attitude.
Right on the mark? It is obvious you do not understand the issues. I would encourage you to read both sides. Not both sides according to Dave Hunt. False Teaching? You mean Biblicism!!!! Cult like attitude? We call this the communion of saints. Have you heard of it?
Amen clujborn! That's why I always respected Dave years ago, cause he had the guts to stand up against Satan, and that's exactly who inspired the TULIP.
I didn't thumb up your comment because you swore =/ but anyways, the rest of it, your right. Sadly the calvinists think they are right hence there annoyed attatude. I've been talking to them for quite a while. And I've realised that is the case. I think the most important thing is to make them realise they are believeing somthing before reading it in the bible insted of reading the bible and believeing what they read. Somthing I have to lurn myself a while ago. (I am not a ex-calvinist btw lol).
Having faith is a MAJOR contingency in the scripture for salvation..it's taking from the tree of life. Copping out of self-responsibility to the creator sounds about normal. We have free will...just because God knows what we will choose doesn't mean we don't have to do the work.
Yes faith is MAJOR, but "believing faith" is a gift from God Eph.2:10.
Also it was those terrible Calvinists who birthed Protestantism with the slogan "Faith Alone". Perhaps you have a misunderstanding of what faith is, because these Calvinists obviously did not.
But the issue is that Luther and Zwingly etc all held the bondage of the will as the main point of the reformation... also, if you don't believe sola gratia (aka unconditional election and irresistible grace) then you're not reformed at all, that's just catholic.
ROFL - just a few years before they helped the Baptists write the 1689 confession. Do you folks have any arguments that aren't based on logical fallacies?

Why doesn't Dave Hunt do a public, live debate with James White?

Why should he debate White? Do you really think anything will come out of this debate that will help the body of Christ?

In other words: "I'll quote unnamed historians and sling mud on the Westminster Assembly before we even start looking at what they said!"

You ARE aware that the westminster confession of faith ENDORSED the blasphemous doctrine of infant baptism, right?
