  • wow that does look like mandelbrot holy sh$! that's cool

  • That looks like 2 inverted waveforms. That scope respone to the dirt battery maybe a transister type of effect from all the mineral content of the soil or medium in an un pure state. None the less it's kinda interesting.

  • Thanks.

    Bill

  • The fact that the waveform resembles a mandelbrot set fascinates me to no end! Please post your findings in another youtube upload, we'd all love to see them!

  • Thank you. I agree about your mandelbrot comment.. The weather here is just beginning to move toward spring and I will resume my outdoor experiments as soon as I can get some time. Both the wave form and those spikes interest me greatly.

    More to come, thanks again.

  • @Pirate88179 Yeah, my brain said; "mandelbrot" too -- As for the spike transitions I have a hunch it's lightning strikes around the earth your picking up possibly Schumann's Resonance plays a part, that's not too off the mark I think.

  • Just a thought on the spikes. My first inclination was neutrinos. Perhaps you are seeing neutrino interaction with the earth between your terminals.

  • You might be right. I am not sure where they are from but I do know that they are the reason I can charge my 650 farad cap up to 2.7 volts when the EER only puts out about 1.95 or so. That cap holds over 3,000 amps. Others in my group have seen these spikes on their systems as well.

    Bill

  • 2:06 That's a mandelbrot set if I ever saw one. We need to start doing some resonance research into this. Could be quite interesting,

  • Yes, several in our research group have been looking at the fractal connection. It is very interesting to be sure and more work needs to be done on this. Thanks.

  • Just had a thought while I was watching this: Most all oscilloscopes are earth grounded at the power cord, and in North America, the electrical service for your house has to be grounded to a ground rod on site.Part of what you are seeing is probably the voltage difference across the ground wiring of your home, and the grounded earth battery. IOW-the noise on your homes ground system. Lots of appliances produce noise and crap,so I'm sure that's atleast part of it,and every house will be different.

  • This is a good thought and I appreciate your posting it. However, several members in my research group have battery powered scopes that show very similar results to mine with their similar set-ups. Also, these waveforms and spikes appear very similar to our joule thief circuits scope shots.

  • I think jeanna may be right. I am no expert, but it makes sense that as a lightning storm moves across the face of the earth there would be some spikes like these show up. The static charge isn't only in the clouds but also within the ground. After all, when lightning strikes there is a small streamer bolt that actually jumps up from the ground, and then the large bolt (that we see) follows that trail back down to the earth.

  • This may be correct, I don't really know. Hopefully, our research will figure it all out...or at least most of it, ha ha. Thanks.

    Bill

  • I'm sure about the lightning building up in the ground and leaping into the sky as a small streamer bolt, and the large bolt following its trail back down. I have seen it in slow motion video on discovery.

I really don't see why we couldn't collect this energy, as it's building up, in large (huge) caps.

I Love your videos. You do a wonderful job of explaining every thing in such detail.

Best of luck with your research. Myself, and countless others will be watching, and learning.

  • Thank you. I agree 100% about the lightning coming up from the ground, that has been proven now even though they taught us in school it was the other way around. I share your idea of the huge caps and now my thinking is that maybe the earth itself is in effect a huge cap?

    Bill

  • I agree. It seems to build up just like a large cap, and then discharge quickly.

It would be very interesting to have many scopes spaced out over and area, and record data for about a year. Storms would be exceptionaly interesting to see from beginning to end, as they move over the area.

That would seem to be the first step in understanding how it behaves, and then working out how to collect the most power from it would naturally follow.

  • I will look that up. Thank you for your input.

    Bill

  • Good stuff, Bill!

Those look like a mirror image.

The spikes are so skinny and so fast. I think this is a lot skinnier than I thought a lightning strike would appear.

So, continuing with that line of thought those fatter jagged spikes are very substantial looking.

    Very interesting.

    Thanks for showing us this.

    jeanna

  • Thank you Jeanna. Yes, I don't know if those fast spikes were lightning induced or not. I will check again with no storm to see if they are there. This is amazing stuff and I am glad I finally got around to using my scope.

  • I feel like when I look at my scope that I am only looking at the top of the ocean. Sorta like a guy who has a 10 X power microscope, he knows that there is so much more he could see if he had an 100 X power microscope. I wonder if we had a higher hertz scope if we could get more detail about the spikes.

  • im really interested in getting a scope, i have never used one so it dont have to be elaborate just a starter scope, got any suggestions????

  • Hi Crobb227, best way to get a scope is secondhand, most people selling them take goood care of them. That said, try your trading post, E bay, or put an AD in your local paper.

Visit your local electronics repair bloke, ask if they have a cro that has been replaced, visit your local TV station, ask there also, be bold be brave, ask for the maintenance manager.

    jim

  • Jim is right. I got my Tecktronics scope from e-bay for a little over $100 and it cost about $3,000 new in the late 80's. Seems to work fine. Allelectronics sells a handheld scope ( size of a DMM) for about $300 new. I like the older style but several folks I know have these and they like them.

    Bill

  • You may be exactly right about that. We will just have to test and see. Feel free to join in and see what you get over there. I like your analogy of the ocean and the microscope. We may not be able to easily measure what is really going on.

  • Hello Bill,

Ha ha, arrr isnt it something this waveform of the earth energy, and if you take a look at it again in a few hours, it will be completly different.

Crob277 has a key to it in his comment, look for the KICK and bounce with it, then it will return to you.

A couple of years you asked me to discribe in words what I was seeing, and I said, hard to discribe, almost impossible, as it changes constantly.

Well done on your first EB waveform post Bill.

    Excellent work

  • Jim:

If not for you, I would have not known how to even turn on my scope. I believe this topic you suggested will yield very valuable information that has not been gathered before. Thank you my friend. This is going to be interesting.

    Bill

  • i often wondered what would happend if instead of just turning on the earth battery

if you pulsed it on and off with like a 555 and a reed relay just so you can grab the rite frequency.,,,, great work

  • The Russian guy Kapanpze is doing just that only he uses a coil (JT like) and a spark gap. He is getting 5kW from his earth energy set-up. Check out my topic on Overunitydotcom.

    Bill

  • thanks for the link, i will do that.
