I know you're trying to simplify for everyone but I find the number system the easiest way to learn a song. When you call out a Db I immediately think the song is on the 1st tone so that is the bass note. I can follow, but I think it can be confusing.

@msmallsman When you study theory, you go into 6,3 and 6,4 inversions. its actually more confusing if you try to go the lowest note but then you still are using the lowest note to determine the figured bass. Are you confused even more yet?.
