  • It is ridiculous and idiotic to suggest that any non-Republicrat party does not work hard, including Greens (and McKinney). Yes, Nader would make the best president, even now, among any other candidates who want to be president (or senator or whatever office), and I would vote for him yet again. But, even Nader would not be perfect.

  • I think the 1% candidate asking the 5% candidate this question makes the question kind of rhetorical doesn't it? The Greens are lazy and ill-organized and refuse to lend resource to their candidates (I am one and know this to be true). Nader has run an excellent campaign. The "demogreens" on the other hand scared Ralph away yet again with a late convention and much factiousness and have basically all but abandoned Cynthia. They do not deserve to have a party.

  • well that's not fair - not all of the people here are trolling - most just want to know what's up.

Call McKinney ask her to show up to the debates :)

  • tell her to show up to the debate!

  • October surprise. McKinney will vote for Obama. Who is a more dangerous fascist? McCain or Obama. People know McC is a fascist. Most people do not understand that Obama has the same program as McC, & so is a more dangerous fascist. How can McKinney be so stupid???

  • McKinney is just a Demonazi. She says nothing worth voting for. She is as dumb as a stump. Has no position on a 30 hour work week, or the Farm Bill, socialism, etc. She is just a puppet, who will end up voting for BO.

  • I've been saying this too. As much as I like Nader, he isn't running to build a party, while Cynthia is.

  • "I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers."

    Ralph Nader

He's committed to a cause rather than the aim of winning. He's not a politician, but a citizen activist and that is what he inspires us all to be.

  • right now we don't need a party we need a candidate a person in the debates.

No one, but Nader can run circles around McCain and Obama and wake the American people up.

The Party is nothing with a strong candidate, look at what happen to the Greens and the Reform (Perots) Party.

  • The Greens have been resistant and they seemed to have gone elitist. Shame really.

  • i know, about all elected green party memebers in office endorse barack obama while the other half seek to kick nader off of ballots. I like the green party platform, but i don't like where the green party is headed, i wouldn't be surprised in if in 4 or 8 years they can't get a viable candidate in at least half of the states. It's a shame that the greens had potential but leadership sunk the ship.

  • why is mckinny running then?

  • Good question, I guess to continue member registration, other than that i don't know. But to be frank these devolpements of getting nader off the california ballot saddens me, after all this party has been through. I thought in 2000 that there was a growing movement for 3rd party only to be brought down by disorganization and a lack of vision. Nader knew this then and since 2000 he's stopped running under their party's banner. The Libertarian Party seem to be gaining ground, thats a good sign.

  • what's the deal Greens? Why are you dissing Nader? People are working their butts off for him, why would you want to alienate all these hard working people?

Any Greens or former Greens want to talk and give us the in side scoop?

  • Oh i'm not dissing nader, I Actually Support Him. Nader08!

But anyways it sucks that many greens try to sabatoge him, i mean mckinney was running to get the Peace and Freedom Party Ballot last week and yet she's already on the CA ballot under the Green Party. The Greens are in shambles, many have left and what's funny is that nader got more votes in their CA primary than any other candidate even though he didn't annouce and surely wouldn't run with them, lol.

  • I didn't mean you, just things I heard from other people about the Greens this time around.

RE: McKinney, can't help the Greens all that much, sure she has a name as a former congresswomen, but she has a reputation of having an attitude as well, and being known as a bit of a nut. The way I see it at this point the Greens would be better off tossing their support to Nader, just to try and unite a solid third party. Would take quite a person to do that though I think.

  • CONT: If you look at the green party's website you'll see that they haven't even raised 10K dollars since March, pathetic.

I'm still voting for nader but i hope the the Libertarian Party (even though i may not agree with every issue they stand for) grows into a major 3rd party. Ron Paul got onto some of the debates and because of that coverage he sparked people to join the libertarians in record numbers. Imagine if the same could be done for nader? That's be awesome.

  • Issue wise there's no real difference between Greens and Nader. Nader is seasoned, however, he is a statesmen with a solid background, the man is a living history.

I'm watching the Liberty Party, I'm glad at least Paul decided to continue helping in its growth.

The main issue I see joining Paul and Nader and several other parties is restoring the Constitution. Social Programs differ, but we are in constitutional crisis, especially when it comes to the Rule of Law.

  • I agree. Nader and Paul do differ on issues but in terms of restoring our constitution and creating a new form of taxation (nader also agrees we need to revamp our taxation system)they're the same.If we can get our economy(and our dollar as a matter-of-fact) back in order and restore law to our elected officals then that lays out the ground work for solving all other issues.Never thought i'd ever say that, just shows how bad it's been.yeah mckinney does have bad PR,some things cant be taken back.

  • One last thing about mckinney, she seems to have bad delivery IMO. I like what she stands for and all but when i hear her speak it seems like she's slow in delivery and not sure what she's trying to get at. Nader on the other hand is a great public speaker and never fails to excite, i think that's what first captured my interest in him.

  • Bob Barr would be a better choice for the third party. He is already placed on ballots in 40 states. That's going to hurt McCain

  • I heard Cynthia McKinney can't get enough signatures to be placed on the ballot in most states. She is really having a tough time for this election
