I find it amusing reading the posts on how many liked this moment. But, after this episode air most fans did not like what Pam did, and many just turned on her. Even though Michael did wrong by breaking up with Pam's mom on her birthday. But, I think it had to do with Jim telling her that she wasn't going to gain anything by hitting him, and especially since he knows Michael's history of getting bullied, he wanted to spare him getting embarrased.
