  • Loved Carlos in his days as Devadip. I also share his happiness that he is in the place he's in now. God bless the master.

  • I love this song/album. When the album originally came out I would play it all the time until I literally wore it out. Ahhh for the days of vinyl-LOL.

  • @AlWexler I still have all my vinyl....!!!!!

  • This what I play when flying my Hang-glider

  • Every time I listen to Santana's music I'm filled with so much emotion, but at the same time so relaxed and mellow, man. It's incredible! Like a drug!

  • One of my favourite Santana tracks, sometimes makes my eyes fill up.

I named my son after Carlos Santana, but my wife asked me to lose the "os" and so we called him Carl.

His music got me through some difficult times like magic.

  • This song saved my life..

I was on the edge of comitting suicide last week while on tripping bad LSD I literally lost my mind for a moment but Santanas Godly ways let the spirit begin to rattle in me and chased the inner demons away and let in the light. that was when i finally let go

God bless Santana. If only you could imagine the warmth you bring to my soul and the smile you put on my face. You will always hold a very special place in my heart brother. Endless light everyone's way! One Love

  • The best guitar player of the word and others galaxy....Carlos is like the wind

  • @nachitotkcho word? xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • @nachitotkcho considering that the word Santana actually means desert wind, yeah.

  • @nachitotkcho in my dreams

  • qué grande carlos!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish I could see his fingers flying over that guitar, electrifying the atmosphere, speaking of love, beauty, satisfaction...

  • Beautiful, heavenly, divine music. It doesn't get any better than Santana!

  • My mother used to say that "MOON RIVER" was the most HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL songs she's ever heard, WHY DO I SAY THAT? THOSE VERY WORDS DESCRIBE THISE SONG FOR ME.

  • Santana is one of God's expressions of God.

  • orgasmic

  • @jcps59 Yes, in one word, orgasmic. Ecstasy. Nirvana.

  • Actually, I've had this album for many decades and am a long-time Santana fan (since the late 1960s). And I've read multiple times (and it was confirmed by Neal Schon himself in interviews) that **NEAL SCHON** was the actual lead guitarist on this song (not Carlos Santana). They shared dual guitar duties for the years that Neal Schon was in the Santana band and this was the last album that Neal Schon was on before he and Greg Rolie left the group to form the band Journey.

  • @STLOneWorld fascinating! I've loved this record for eternity also - I have wondered at times if Schon had a hand in SOTW, some of the fingering sounds a bit more angular than some of Santana's work - whoever it is, the song is freakin' awesome - while I was DJ in college I would play this tune and the switchboard would light up! "who is that?!" Santana, of course..

  • Carlos Santana is our Erick Clapton Latino, in all Latin America there's no second Carlos Santana as the English Clapton.

  • @eltoucan2 soooo true!

  • a lovely melody,

  • Santana At the Hoolywood Bowl On Oct 1st

    Gotta to go :D

  • everyone search baldy and burke and listen to their songs, they're so good!

  • a Wonderful and Beautiful song !!! I Love it !!

  • The guitar is the blowing wind in the desert,it circles round, with a nice rhythm.

Play this every sunday, its santana best song ever made,so sublime with grace!

Song of the Wind - timeless gem !

  • @osensei2987 But that's not possible, Spain is an older country than Mexico... and there ain't no Mexico in Europe, but little parts of Spain in America.

  • There are 47 fools out there! Love it Carlos!

  • love this

  • Santana vs Slash Cmon Slash is way to overrated! :D

  • This is my favorite Santana song !!

  • great song, great playlist

  • Tears at your heart, with tears of emotion. A feeling you just cant overcome.

  • I grew up in the San Francisc/Oakland Bay Area. Groups like Santana, Malo and War and Tower of Power helped so much to make the 70's what it was. If you weren't there then you'll never know what you missed! Definately a time of musical decadence that inspired and changed the world and a revolution of love!

The Eternal Caravan of Riencarnation is my favorite album of ALL time!!

  • @freeh1 Spent plenty of time in the Bay Area during that time. I was a small kid but the Bay Area sound was the best. Got my first taste of Joe Bataan and Ron and the Embracers there.

  • How can anyone not be enthralled with this song, unless they have no soul ?

  • I remember being at a Santana concert and before the show on the speakers was some Hendrix boot leg stuff. He really diggs Jimi Hendrix.. And Buddy Miles were friends.

  • I dont why they compare Santana to God, He ain't got shit on Santana

  • @Thiago13462010 While I do understand the love you have for Santana...after you have calmed down...you DO realize that you went over the top...don't you? Santana may be great...but God IS the GREATEST.

    Hands down.

  • @YaBoiBalla1 taking it too serious

  • @superdarkmario2 Lol@ "taking it too serious"...I say something that makes sense to most people and of course, you chose to comment that I am taking it too serious. Hmmm. Understand that most people have come to this page because we love the God given gift that Carlos Santana has. He is an excellent and inspiring guitarist and I have been listening to his music since I was introduced to "Oye Como Va" and "Evil

Ways". I take NOTHING from Santana. Give respect where it is due. All the time.

  • @Thiago13462010 HEY HEY, no no no, you don't compare God to anyone, take those words back

  • Thanks for the correction.

  • the best ever.

  • Only masterpieces that talk directly to the spirit such as this survive the test of time.

  • @Fotosintesis7 This,, my friend, is the truth, plain and simple. It's always so relaxing to sit back and have a glass of wine while listening to Carlos Santana.

  • I think that this one of my favourite Santana tracks, I love the picture this paints for me. I get a feeling of the dynamic of eternity and the burning intensity of the present moment. “Be Here Now”, know what I mean man?

  • The hole Best Song in this Beauty World with to much Bastards Humans :( and also with some good people yes.

  • Fabulous tune

  • This is music from the soul, i know it sounds cheezy but, for those who don't believe in souls out there, the thing that comes one after another, a burst of notes in perfect timing with the background, not talking with your mouth, talking with your guitar, trying to send a message, perfect timing, his brain is in a dream state.

  • carlos looks kinda like mario in the picture haha

  • PEACE & LOVE!!!

  • so who played the leads on this? Santana or Neil Schon?

  • for the elevator

  • one of his most highly under-rated instrumentals of all time!

  • @oscarforce1 this is like the greatest instrumental ever heard by my ears, its amazing like serenating a sunset.

  • One of the greatest and best loved musicians of my generation! I remember watching the gliders of many colors sailing against the sky and rolling hills out my East Bay window.......listening to Carlos! An amazing way to spend an afternoon!!

  • I bought the album in '72. Haven't listened to it in years, but I still find myself whistling whole chunks of this track when I'm happy. Great, great music.

  • SANTANA AT HIS BEST--FROM HIS 3RD LP "CARAVANSERAI"....MUSIC TO MAKE LOVE BY.......

  • @turtleman1146 I believe it was his fourth….

  • this just gave me an erection

  • This is the period that I like Santana the best, this LP, The Welcome LP and the LP Borboleta, just sends chills thru me. Also on Caravanserai the other guitar player was a 14 year old kid name Neal Schon.

    ,

  • @promoguy59

Neal Schon was born Feb 1954, so he was actually 18 on this record. Michael Shrieve had become an incredible drummer by this point and shows it on this track. Amazing drumming!

  • santana, hendrix, and page are my favorite guitarists:)

  • @bamibalboy : + Jeff Beck and Brian May..

  • @michelesnoopy please read my comment properly... it says they are MY favorite guitarists... i dont like brian may at all

  • SONG OF THE WIND

  • I was introduced to Santana for the very first time in my life in 1974. I heard Evil Ways and the first thing that caught my attention was the guitar and so I bought me a guitar and started to play. In 2000 I produced and recorded my first CD called Four Three Avenue and the inspiration was Santana. So here's to you Carlos...Thanks!!

  • @alrozz

so, how can i check you out? any website?

  • Best Santana than ever !!!

  • dj coldhard sample this

  • Is there a video of Carlos playing this live? If so, can you post how I can find it please?

  • His musics from the soul

  • Beautiful, takes me to another place and time, sitting under trees and blue skies, far from the city, off where the free winds blow. ;)

  • i remember back in the day cruzin through the park or running down to the beach to hook up with my party people and listen to this kind of music all day. These songs has so many memories, to the women we use to go with and friends we use to hang out with and all the trouble we use to get in too, oooh those memories!!!!!

  • It has long been a fantasy of mine to be in a party or somewhere that there is a guitar being passed around, and for someone to say 'Do you play?'. I say 'Oh,a little bit', and after much persuasion, reluctantly take the guitar, only to launch into this or 'Birds of Fire' by Mahavishnu Orchestra. Unfortunately, it is likely to remain just that, a fantasy. Pure genius.

  • Great guitar tone on this cut. Liked Carlos with the Les Paul and SG sounds more than the PRS of later years.

  • @mqblues I agree my friend. I have thought that before but felt like a DICK because Carlos chose those tones and he IS who he IS. I like VINTAGE Carlos for tone, new Carlos for who he is, and both for the same reason! I cant believe he could get those fast attacks and tones with a thick ass Les Paul, a heavy chunk of guitar, man, you know what I'm talkin' about. I wonder why C hasn't gone with the SG . But, PRS is a good blend between the Chunky and Airy....

  • My 2 favorite Santana albums were less successful money wise. Caravansari & Borboleta. Just beautiful & fresh & distinct. Just not appreciated by those who need more of a pop sound.

Song of the Wind is from Caravansari.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome how he holds this beautiful melody and jamming simultaneously. the only thing better is to see him live up close. do it.
