Yea a bore size can make a difference in both the body and style of sound.
But the effects can still very on the person playing too. For example (a bit of topic).. I've seen a guy with a most shallow mouth piece, play he most biggest and roundest sound. I did not think its was possible until that moment. So again, you must experiment.
