I liked Nightwish with Tarja and I like Nightwish with Anette as well. After following Nightwish for 10 years, I have to say (as my personal opinion) that Anette represents what the band is about. This was not true with Tarja - although she's a really great front woman. So, I'm honestly glad about this change - it makes the message of Nightwish even more important (at least to me).

Alright people I think Tarja was good but Anette fits Nightwish perfect and she sings higher than Tarja. Annette is just fresh air, she has managed to cchange the look of the band, the sound (it is just different), even she ahs managed to make the band evolute to a different are more melodic concept. Of Course Tanja is THE Female Voice Power, but Annette can also offer a great, peresonal and special way of singing. Also her voice is unique. I consider both as different bands, both spectacular.

Some people doesn't want to comprehend changes in NW's sound + style. They never will realize NW with Tarja + Anette are different in sound, style + intension. I like Tarja very well + visit her german tour 2011. Listen to her new sound. Can you imagin Tarja could fulfill Amaranth as Anette can? I don't. Remember the documentary on one of the DVD's. Tuomas was forcing Tarja chanting lower tone pitch for future projects. IMHO Tarja is out because NW want to sound harder. Anette serves this best

@ju633 i think that the new songs of the dark passion play are for anette style, more power songs, but the old songs are for tarja style, more classic, more operistic songs. I think that annete can't sing the siren for example, and tarja can't sing bye bye beautiful.

The style of nightwish is absolutely different, i preffer the tarja style, but anette is good singer in her style.

Wow, Anette's a BEAST now! She sings like an eagle, while Tarja singed like a humming bird. To each its own - I prefer heart of technique, and thus like Nightwish better with Anette, specially if she keeps improving like that.

I really do enjoy Anette's voice and I'm so over the whole battle between Anette and Tarja but you can't deny something is lost in this video. Anette's stage presence is pretty awful. She's wearing something my mom would wear and she mainly just stands there and dances a little then moves to a new spot to dance a little. Her vocals were spot on tho. :)
