  • Blender is just as capable as any other 3d modeling software, if not better.

  • This was very helpful. Thank you very much

  • I don't know if anyone knows but; when you want to extetnal edit a texture image its usefull to have the face edges printed on the image, do you know a way to get face edges on the UV map?

  • Thank you for this, I am just starting out in Blender and this was very helpful. My only problem is that it does not show up in the 3D view window as you are editing (with the view set to "Textured"), this is not a major problem for me as it still renders perfectly. Thanks for a great tutorial.

  • Hey vandrewlongstrider,

Thanks for youre tutorial! But how can i let the render show up in my game? Thanks, sorry for my bad English.

  • @RichardWeug Sorry, I've never worked with the game system in Blender, so I can't help. Your English is ok though :)

  • @RichardWeug thats myproblem to :(....

  • Wish i could get more sound volume--- recording at low levels?

  • How do you put the texture into 3D View?

  • 3:02 - 3:04 Thanks, that made my day.

  • Hey jo ! Thx alot !

  • Thanks again. Very helpful...again.

  • What I would like to know is, how good is Blender compared to other commercial products like Lightwave and 3dsMax? Is it capable of creating high quality renders?

  • Animation can be rendered up to 1080i HD.

  • Ok, so I figured. It just depends on what the person wants as quality, and how good they are at doing it. I'm trying to get into modeling, rendering, animating, etc, it's just so frustrating, there's so many confusing buttons everywhere. I used lightwave once with a tutorial to create a cup, but I didn't understand how anything worked. =( No point in following all these tutorials if I don't know what everything really does. You know? I'm not talking about your tutorial btw, I'm just saying.

  • I'm gonna go on a limb here and say that the quality has less to do with the model (it does really, but just not quite as much), and more with the texturing and lighting.

  • @roejames12 u can make a model or animation just as good as 3ds max or lightwave they just have a few more things added on to make it simpler but people have made things just as good its not the software that makes it good its what u make out of the model/animation

  • @PrimevalHunter300 Isn't that exactly what I said? "It just depends on how good they are at doing it."

  • Can I use some vector graphics as my texture?

  • Yup! Depending on what kind of object you are texturing it might take a little fooling around to get it to appear how you want it, but you can definitely do it.

  • whats the sub-serf thing ur talking about?? please i need this i would really appreciate a response, thanks

  • A subsurf is a surface beneath the vertices of the object that you are manipulating. Using one gives the finished product a smoother appearance. To add one, select the object (the plane in this case) and down in the edit mode windo (F9) click 'Add Modifier. Select 'Subsurf' from the drop down menue. From there, you can increase the level to give it more faces and look better. A tip: before you render, you will want to click 'Apply' subsurf, otherwise, it won't appear in your final image/anim

  • thanks, i think i might know what your talking about but the "add modifier" button has nothing of a "subserf" ill have to expirement further.....do you think that maybe i could upload a .blend file to you that you texture for me?!?!? :D

  • I have another video that shows step by step exactly how to add the subsurf. I put a link to it in this video, or you can find it on my channel.

  • howz do u subdivide something

  • how do u get it so when u grab a vertex it pulls it up like urs did like rounded?

  • you have to turn on the 'proportional edit falloff' It shows up as the little yellow circle in the very middle of the top bar in the buttons window.

  • ty for tutorial helped me :D

  • I've like rendered one of my objects... but i can't start on another one....D: can you tell me how i switch which object i'm applying texture to?

  • Every object has a material. If 2 objects have the same material selected, then modifying this material will modify all objects that use this material. Texture(s) is/are part of a material.

    1. Create new object.

    2. Create new material.

    3. Apply this new material to this new object.

    4. Play with the new material.

  • does anyone know how to fix the shaders not supported problem???

  • thanks so much no other place u can find for simple texturing

  • How do you make the texture go on the specific place you want to? is there any tutorials for hat?

  • then you should use UV Texturing.

  • You either let the program map the texures automatically based on some presets OR you do it manually via UV mapping.

  • @Gorelazore im not sure as to what qualifies as a hat tutorial

  • .targa

  • what kind of file does the image have to be? it wont work i cant find my images

  • .jpeg always works for me. Make sure you have the correct file path entered in the field at the top of the screen.

  • how did you get grass? Where did you find it?

  • google is your friend

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • now, how do i get the texture to show up in play mode?

  • Use UV Textures.

  • how do i make it so i can see it when im in game mode or what ever you call it

  • if you mean object mode, just hit TAB and you can toggle between it and Edit mode that way. For any of the other modes I mentioned they are all in the buttons on the lower left hand corner. If you mean that actually game engine that blender has for writing video games, that is a much more advanced concept. I only do 3D rendering, so I can't help with that.

  • oh ya i ment the game engine but thx anyway

  • dude helped alot mayn quite a progam to get used to

  • You sound like my high school's tech guy, Kurt S.

  • Very helpful, thank you very much

  • Good tutorial now i know how to put textures on an object, but i didn't understand how did u make that "elevations", that mountains on the plan??

  • just made one to show that. check it out : )

  • HELP!!! I just need a photo put on the plain. Is there any way to add a digital photo to my plain and be able to see it on the plain without having to render the plain to see the image on the plain? I need to see the image on the plain. I've been searching for hours to figure this out. Please help

  • Hmmm, the only way I'm aware of is to render it. If you don't want to take the time to do that then you can use the 'render preview' option under 'view'. If you only need color then you can add a material (see my other tutorial) and you can see that without rendering. Sorry I can't help that much. If I do learn a way I'll post it here.

  • Yes thank you so much. Out of interest do you know where I can find some good Ferrari F50 pictures. I can't seem to find any.

  • Your welcome.

    I like Ferrari's but I'm afraid I don't have any pictures.

  • Thanks man ! I have been looking around for hours to learn how to texture, and those I found were to advanced. But thanks to your tutorial I have learned how to do it and also how to build mountains! you are great! / the happy swedish guy :)

  • hey thanks! It's not everyday I get to make a Swedish guy happy. = )

  • that's awesome, i looked for this for days now....you did it man!

    thanks!

  • No problem!

  • how the fuck do you make a mountin

  • First you need something to make into a mountain, so so go into your add menu and select mesh, the click grid from that menu. Now you have a big square grid. Select on of the vertexes (the dots on the grid). Then, press the O key. This turns on your proportional edit fall-off. Now press G key, and move your mouse. You will now see a mountain began to form with the peak attached to your cursor. When it is as tall as you want it, press G key again. And there is your mountain.

  • can you make a tutoriul on how to add collour instead of a picture

  • Blurry. Can't hear anything.

  • All tutorials should be this straight forward.
