I can go on, but I'd rather not. Instead, it is worth noting the names of the two games. They are both accurate for the gameplay and styles of each of the games that they represent. So, instead of arguing which one is better, I think it would be better to just admire the games the way that they were created and just play them.

Years ago at Pound 3 I believe, Mango's entry into the top tier read like a video game boss room: Mathos, Forward, Chu, Cort, PC Chris, M2K, M2K (may have missed some.) Armada's run here is looking similar: DaShizWiz, M2K, Mango. And I don't even know who he had to beat to get to Shiz.
mango played like an absolute boss this set. his falco looks so mean and confident. before these sets we didn't know if mango could take a punch in the mouth.

@hussein335 Brawl is just slower, and there's a lot less tech skill involved, hence the reason for which people don't like it as much. It makes sense. People like games that are complex and challenging. The truth of it is that Brawl is simpler and less difficult to play at a higher level than melee. Graphics don't trump game play, in my opinion, nor does music or anything else. Melee had better game play and therefore is more enjoyable. (Keep in mind this is all my opinion. You like brawl? w00t)

People don't like Brawl because of Tripping, Speed, and lack of WD/DD. People complained that 64 > than Melee.
Actually I strongly dislike brawl more because there isn't hitstun shieldstun comboing more than tripping and wavedashing/dash dancing. The last two are trivial, they are a part of Melee's speed but even without them Melee would still be fun. At least moreso than brawl, in my opinion of course.
Sounds good to me bro. I've heard of those as well, although I'm not entirely sure what their purposes are, so I can't comment on how they would improve the gameplay.

Shieldstun is when you see shield pressure hits like when a falco will shine into down air quickly so if you let go of shield you get hit

Me challenging you to a brawl match doesn't have anything about our discussion, you brought that up. Essentially, people think that they can be good @ Brawl by being successful in Melee. Like anything else it takes practice and close study. Brawl hasn't been out for more than 2 years, where Melee has been out for almost 9. Obviously you've had more time to study the Melee engine than Brawl's. Funny because Melee came out < 3 years after SSB1 and the shiny new version was easier to adapt to.

To me, Brawl is like a game called Budokai Tenkaichi. Of course SSJ3 Goku could easily beat 100% Frieza in a linear plot, but for games purposes, you should be able to beat any character with any character. To me, Melee is all about Marth, Fox, Falco, and C.Falcon. Whats the point of having a tourney with just those characters? Brawl is about pushing the limit and distinguishing the strengths and weaknesses of each character. You should be able surprise people with your character pick (ex:Puff)
Though people chose characters they feel that its easier to win with them and its true that you could beat someone with anybody, but the higher the player level the more likely certain weaknesses will tend to show more when you are playing a good opponent its like that with both games imo.
Yeah man, I get what you mean. For example, some people don't see a character like mewtwo at the top of the tier, but if study and train with him against level 7-9 CPU's and you'll start to notice some patterns. Watch shadowclaw
IMO, mewtwo is like a bridge character between SSBM & SSBB, he's slow but you can still make him work.
I've seen Shadow Claw Taj is a awesome Mewtwo player. He's low, but should be higher than 24th place. Every character imo can be played to their greatest potential depending on the player.

Years ago at Pound 3 I believe, Mango's entry into the top tier read like a video game boss room: Mathos, Forward, Chu, Cort, PC Chris, M2K, M2K (may have missed some.) Armada's run here is looking similar: DaShizWiz, M2K, Mango. And I don't even know who he had to beat to get to Shiz.

@Zande19 Well the thing is, what something is made to be isn't always what it is. Both ssbm and ssbb are no longer party games but have been hosted at major tournaments and are at the peak of fighting games.
So party games? no. And don't put both games in the same category, because they're completely different.
From an ignorant, never-before-played-the-game standpoint you're right. But in actuality, melee has changed over it's 10+ years, and brawl has changed because of melee's reputation.

Watch Brawl finals from all the major nationals in a chronological progression. The game continues to evolve just like any other fighting game.

@hussein335 Brawl is just slower, and there's a lot less tech skill involved, hence the reason for which people don't like it as much. It makes sense. People like games that are complex and challenging. The truth of it is that Brawl is simpler and less difficult to play at a higher level than melee. Graphics don't trump game play, in my opinion, nor does music or anything else. Melee had better game play and therefore is more enjoyable. (Keep in mind this is all my opinion. You like brawl? w00t)

Actually I strongly dislike brawl more because there isn't hitstun shieldstun comboing more than tripping and wavedashing/dash dancing. The last two are trivial, they are a part of Melee's speed but even without them Melee would still be fun. At least moreso than brawl, in my opinion of course.

@marmar3291 hit sun is that your character cant do any attacking moves after being hit so it gives the other person a chance to hit you again if they didnt hit you too far away. Shieldstun is when you see shield pressure hits like when a falco will shine into down air quickly so if you let go of shield you get hit

Me challenging you to a brawl match doesn't have anything about our discussion, you brought that up. Essentially, people think that they can be good @ Brawl by being successful in Melee. Like anything else it takes practice and close study. Brawl hasn't been out for more than 2 years, where Melee has been out for almost 9. Obviously you've had more time to study the Melee engine than Brawl's. Funny because Melee came out < 3 years after SSB1 and the shiny new version was easier to adapt to.

To me, Brawl is like a game called Budokai Tenkaichi. Of course SSJ3 Goku could easily beat 100% Frieza in a linear plot, but for games purposes, you should be able to beat any character with any character. To me, Melee is all about Marth, Fox, Falco, and C.Falcon. Whats the point of having a tourney with just those characters? Brawl is about pushing the limit and distinguishing the strengths and weaknesses of each character. You should be able surprise people with your character pick (ex:Puff)

Though people chose characters they feel that its easier to win with them and its true that you could beat someone with anybody, but the higher the player level the more likely certain weaknesses will tend to show more when you are playing a good opponent its like that with both games imo.

Yeah man, I get what you mean. For example, some people don't see a character like mewtwo at the top of the tier, but if study and train with him against level 7-9 CPU's and you'll start to notice some patterns. Watch shadowclaw
IMO, mewtwo is like a bridge character between SSBM & SSBB, he's slow but you can still make him work.

I've seen Shadow Claw Taj is a awesome Mewtwo player. He's low, but should be higher than 24th place. Every character imo can be played to their greatest potential depending on the player.
