Lest we forget the contributions and sacrifices made when this beautiful song was first composed. How much we don't know or even want to know about the past generations. It's more like what can I have next """"""""""""""""
@CosmicKitten89 lol I used to think the same thing because my dad is a huge Eurythmics fan. He would play it every time he would drive us anywhere, especially to school in the morning. After a while I realized that it was the fact that I was headed to school that generated my headache. Now, I'm not saying I'm a fan by any means; I wouldn't even choose to listen to Annie, but it does remind me of my dad and I like that
@64wing Oh wait I don't remember commenting on this video. I meant to post that comment on Lady Antebellum's "I Need You Now", must've clicked this one on accident.
@CosmicKitten89 I have a plan...I'll just ask Santa Clause for a $500 mixing deck and record myself hammering open chords on a ridiculously expensive guitar that I have no business playing and become famous! Want in? (disclaimer: I've been playing guitar for like nine years, so I totally deserve a kick ass guitar...unlike people such as Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, and, of course Lady Ante-how ever the hell you spell it lol)
@64wing Hey! Don't diss on Taylor Swift -- she's not just another mediocre pop artist; she actually writes her own songs all on her own, and she's been playing guitar longer than you have. Justin Bieber and Lady Antebellum, on the other hand, are totally diss-worthy pop trash.)
@CosmicKitten89 wow struck a nerve there...my bad. Let me re-word my statement. I've owned guitars for nine years, but I've been playing since I was 7 (my uncle actually let me touch his guitar for some reason lol) I just think that, from what I've seen and in my own opinion, she knows several open chords, a few bar chords and that's about it. I'm a fingerstyle player so I guess I've got a bad attitude towards strummers in general. No offense intended though! Have a great one!
@64wing Lol don't know anything about guitars, or music in general -- played a bit of guitar in 7th grade music appreciation class, got an A minus on that assignment, and that's about it. Taylor's more about the lyrics anyway. She was taught how to play by a computer repairman, and that was really lucky for her. All she did prior to then was sing; after playing guitar she took to songwriting as well.
@64wing OH WAIT! I just remembered, I DID intend to post that comment on this song. "Every Time We Say Goodbye" gives me a headache too, perhaps even worse than "I Need You Now". I just forgot that Annie Lennox was one of the many people who cover it (and all the covers are equally bad; it's not the artist, it's the song). I also remember listening to it and a bunch of other terrible songs off of my (evil) foster mom's CD when she drove home late at night from bowling (Rod Stewart version).
@daveusericuk Just the second Edward, actually. the one by Kit Marlowe. The third one was written by Mr Wm Shakespeare et al. Frankly, Marlowe's one is better.

This song gives me a f***ing headache. The tempo and the tune are set just so to be most effective at generating headaches.

Ev'ry time we say goodbye I die a little
Ev'ry time we say goodbye I wonder why a little
Why the gods above me who must be in the know
think so little of me they allow you to go.
When you're near there's such an air of spring about it
I can hear a lark somewhere begin to sing about it
there's no love finer, but how strange the change from
major to minor...
- Ev'ry time we say goodbye.
