  • This is like ZZ top but Russian version.

  • Wow, bass balalaika. Seen that first time in my life.

  • @mjaniczek it's contrabass balalaika. Bass balalaika is smaller.

  • That thing doesn't sound like its worth the pain-in-ass it would be to carry around.

  • This is the funniest looking guitar I've erver seen! :D They play awesome, love it!

  • bellisima! conoci a esta cancion por los 3 tenores pero me ha encantado desde entonces. soy peruana vivo en USA, me encanta la music clasica y folklorica de cada pais.

  • Awesome talents and a classic .

  • Forgot about the size of those things (bass)! Good lord. It looks like a giant corn chip. That's got to tug like hell on your neck. Ouch.

  • Doroghiye nyeznakomiye russkiye druzya!Ya znayu tak, shto eta krasiwaya pesnya eta originalnaya russkaya narodnaya pesnya!Eto prawda?Pomogitye mnye pozhaluysta!I yisho shto-to!Esli iz was govorit po wengerski:moya babushka otchiny tchasto pewala:"Messzi távoli hómezőn..."./dva muzhik govoryat, zimoy, odyin iz muzhikow goworit:gdye ya zhiwyu, swetyit solntse i skoro budyet leto..../Gdye ya moghu slushaty etu tchudesnuyu pesnyu?Bolshoye spasiwa,i priwyet iz Wengriyi!!!!!

  • You gotta have some kind of "small-man" complex to want to play that goddam thing! It looks like he is holding a fighter jet. I must admit though....he is wearing it out!!!

  • heep big balalaika.!!! I get a hernia looking at it.

  • Чудесно!

  • I made a mistake.I am sorry.Please stop picking on me!!

  • In 1968 this one was on the top 40 charts in the US for Mary Wilson. I was at School Becket Academy and it was on the radio in the Dorm all the time, those were the days.

  • bacana, sugoi.!!!!!!!

  • If anyone wants to know that song was sung by Nelson Eddy in 1920 movie Balalaika, where he is a Kosac officer in love with the beautiful member of Royal family. Movie was based on true story dating back to 19th century so there.

  • Pe-dro de La-ra-rá!

  • Balalaika my %^$. The Russians always have weapon in mind. I bet that giant trianglar guitar could be used as a deadly weapon.

  • So can a frying pan, banjo, flute, rolling pin, pencil, stapler... What is your point?

  • What's the name of the guy who's playing the Balaika?

  • No it's an early Banjo, very common in the former Confederate States of America!!

  • Balalaikas date back to the 1500's in RUSSIA! Not the CSA. Learn your history!

  • I have seen pictures of Confederate soldiers playing these big Banjo's just before going into battle.

  • i can ASSURE you that that isnt true. That is a balalaika. I play the balalaika, and know its history. Ты говоришь такую фигню, а ты вообще не о чем не знаешь про балалайку. Лучше заткнись.

  • We all know that General Robert E. Lee designed these massive Banjo's to help inspire his troops before battle.

  • чё за это? заткнись с нахуй глупостью.

  • English please!!

  • shut up with you fucking stupidity!

  • There is no need to be rude my Slavic friend.

  • im not you friend. dont make stupid comments.

  • Ok I am sorry.

  • @vaddoff are the ukrainians similar to the Russians, vaddoff?

  • @Westyrulz do you have proof that vaddoff is a slav? cal me a slav ..I dare you! I'm 1/3 ukrainian& 1/3 russian

  • Westy, I;m a rwhite russian by ancestral blood... so , there isn't a drop of slavic bloood in my veins

  • @Freyja1133 I have to say that belarusians are Slavs too

  • @Westyrulz a baalaika is a russian type of guitar... banjos are from africa originally

  • westy, you're obviously from britian... abnjos have nothing to do with civil war history..since they were played as a part of ministraly

  • vad ,is a balaika a hard instrument t learn how to play?

  • @Westyrulz I would like to see that pics :)

  • vad,it's obvious that westy is a briton...that's why he knws nothing of american history& the music that was made during the civil war

  • westy, the banjo is a african instrument

  • A credit to everyone involved in this - magical production. Excellent bass.. Just pure magic.. Thank you..!! 5*

  • shit! what a guitar!

(Very nice, it's beautifull the rusian music!)

  • It's just a larger balalaika.

  • @cucuriguma it's a bass-balalaika. I played it about 3 years in ensemble. Amazing training for your left hand.))) And for a right hand too, if you using fingers. I used a pick. But balalaika's pitch is E-E-A, bass-balalaika is E-A-D. Same as guitar bass strings. And really powerfull sound.... those were the days.))

P.S. The original lyrics are better for me)

  • what's that big triangle instrument called?

  • gyspy guitar

  • Contrabass Balalaika

  • Thanks!

  • wonderfully voiced instrument... and very well played too.

  • good!!!!! i love this song ;)

  • Great posting Boby!
