I was at 54, so I beat him in one hit. I didn't even realize that he used ANY attacks.

try a new game and beat it in HARD mode... then you can say that you really beat him in hard mode every delayed second and every move may cause you a game over for example in cavers the was a monster that gave me over 10,000 hit and max hp is 9,999 and i was fully on def items... plus don't use any secret materias... believe me on normal mode i didn't use any defense only dodge in HARD mode... you have to know when to dodge/defend or even take a full blow for a counter attack...

if you guys can't beat genesis try doing some missions for level ups i passed the whole game from the normal mode and after my save was corrupted tried the HARD mode trust me if you can't beat genesis now you will never beat him in the hard mode you have to get the hang of the game and know when to doge or defend or when to take a full blow to take advantage after it and do a counter attack next what you guys need are good equips and materias i had a materia with atk over 50+ against sephritoh

hes so easy idid him at like level 15 all you do is use darkness it takes up health but its a very powerfull attack it hits like 2000 each time and when your health is low use cure but i suggest if your darkness is a max level i suggest you use this 2 times per round because that guy has powerfull hits.

Something i found too help fight Genesis at a lower lvl is using status ward and posion so his black feather attack wont poison you. Keep dodging and attacking. He aint to hard.

Zack didn't seem to have his heart into fighting Sephiroth by then. He'd had to fight so many of his friends already....

The other main bosses of Crisis Core were pretty close to Sephiroth power levels, and Zack did fine against them.

??? The first skill used? That was Barrier. The Materia next to attack is Mug. And I can't remember where I got it but it's available in missions and probably during the regular story too.

yeah he is pretty hard...it took me about 8-9 times to beat him.....only tip iz attack from behind cuz all attacks from behind are critical...if u get lucky you might get a rush assault and stun him then just attack from behind...it worked for me

Try using Barrier and/or MBarrier if you aren't already. If you have lots of SP and access to SP Barrier and such (although they seem to be Materia that are available later in the game ^^), you can try those too. As an alternative, you can also do Materia fusion to boost defense and HP!

I have a item that gives me +50% HP overall, and I fused it with Thunder to give it +60% overall. You should look into that. Also, attack from behind does x2 damage.
