I was there that day. Got completely wasted before the gig but when Bruce appeared on stage, it was like 10 cups of coffee one after another. He doesn't look that happy here, seems to be harangueing the musicians. Thank God he got the ESB back on the road a few years later. Still living in Galicia. Terra de Breogán, a miña terra xa.
Speechless. Awesome. What a great talent and man!! I've followed him since 1975. Still remember putting the Born to Run album on the turntable for the very first time.
@malcolm5wj The song is about gang wars in New Jersey. If you don't believe me check out the intro to the version from Paris in 85' where the boss says it himself
Who is the woman guitarist? Is this when Bruce couldn't play with the E Street Band because of his legal problems with his record label? I think it must be?
OH Bruchee-- I love your videos but have notice that most of the time you can only see Bruce, and not the other people in the band. It would be nice to see them playing too!! Thank you!!
great song - but i never found it inspirational - unless your talking about the line "everything that dies someday comes back" - just curious what you mean by inspirational
@FOAMER103061 it makes me want to go out and make good music. its a good song all of his songs from nebraska are inspirational. it makes me inspired to go out and make music. as a musician its inpirational
@jnw319 thats not what the song is about at all, the song is about a poor guy that is constantly in debt and he lives in a shit town. so he decides to do a job that may cost him his life and he wants to have one day of fun with his girlfriend before he leaves
There is only one boss. If anyone is interested we have played an acoustic version of atlantic city with our band. Please check our channel and give your opinion
@Evolve10 little known fact: zappa was a springsteen fan as well. you can read it in the book "light in darkness". there's a concert report and somebody tells the story that zappa was in attendance (center front rows) for a darkness show (arguably the greatest rock tour of all time)
yeah - bc that's music for men... most women don't understand the music of the boss. I don't want to sound like a sexist but that's just the way I've experienced it.
Bruce had his first album, "Greetings from Asbury Park".He rented out RFK stadium, but the show was cancelled do to poor ticket sales. He made up his mind to tour small venues.I got to see him, in a small bar, in D.C./The "Mosque", in Richmond.Bigger venues, later. He's a holy man!seeing his performances, they call it "witnessing the burning bush".Theyr'e right!
I was in this concert in May 1993 and I was 18 years old.For my it was impressive. i remember this song, because i was ahead, just opposite bruce springsteen.
