Richmond, VA Needs a Public Skatepark - Documentary

There were demos held at Laurel around 2000, the park attendant kicked the team out in the first 5 minutes of the demo. Every county around Richmond has disregarded the opinions and input of the skateboarders at critical points. They are more interested in showing they are doing something than actually filling a need. This trend goes back to the building of the bowl at laurel 1989. The counties don't care if the facilities are ever used.

also is the Bowl in a grauge or something, and who is actually in charge of designing chimbo?  his/their name(s)

Hippoland is still good but kind of sketchy now buuuutt... Now you can Go to HOLLY STREET PARK off Holly Street in OREGON HILL!! it's new and awesome :) BRING YOUR FUN!! also bring your ramps, rails, or whatever else you can find too. If it's built crappy it will be recycled tho.

the y is absolutely horrible. they still make you pay, and on hot days like theses, the stuff they use to "fix" the cracks melts, and my wheels get stuck in it. x-zone, horrible. the roc, is okay for being free. we need something to skate.

@VAskater10 The ymca isn't that bad. it's a local park. it's probabley the best one in a 25 mile radius. Just live witha few cracks.

this is really well composed. it would be cool if they just let us skate at hippo and turned that into a park or something

@ShredSledMaster I didn't include the roc because it isn't a public park, it is at a church.

@jpblankenship1 You're correct, but right now they are letting anyone come and skate so I figured that I would include it. Also, the YMCA isn't trying to convince people to join a church like the Richmond Outreach Center.

man this is amazing and im so glad you guys are doing that. this was so well put together and i love chimborazo. id recommend holding a fundraiser at the manchester ymca even tho its run down they have begun repairs on the ramps and theres always kids with their parents there and ie talked to their parents about what they think and by the looks of it, u could get a lot of big donations from their parents and local kids themselves
